This is what happens when you tear a team down to the studs. You end up throwing things against the wall to see what sticks. It will be hard to bring someone from the outside because there are 5-6 better jobs out there. At this time no one knows who will be left on this roster. Hunter was a good player, but does that make him a good manager. He may just become another yes man for Falvey. And when you look back at Molitor that was high on Falvey's reason to dismiss him. Molitor was not the yes man Falvey wanted. And watching a organization full of yes people you see a unwatchable team.

Polanco to Falvey, thank you so much for trading to the Mariners. As you probably have seen I'm 2 wins from playing in the WS. I'm not sure that this opportunity would be possible if I was still with the Twins. So again thank you so much!!

Love all the wishful thinking here for a team that is a total mess right now. The FO blow the BP up at the deadline and dumped 3 players with expiring contracts along with the overpriced SS. The only thing this FO has tried to get is SP,as far as position players they have failed. They have had about 2 dozen LF,and how about 2nd and 3rd baseman. They wanted Lewis to move from 3rd to 2nd,but he said no thanks. Wallner is a liability with a mite on his hand anywhere you put him. Its time to move on from him using him as trade bait. With his approach at the plate he has too many holes in his swing. This is also a team with no manager and no one knows who that will be and if they will have any say on coaches or players. The best thing to happen is gut the FO and sell the team to someone that understands how to run a sports team.

Arbitrary Thoughts: RHP Cole Sands
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Keep him and hope the SP can log more than 4-5 innings like 25. He seemed to be wore down in September and also may have thought he had to do more. At this point this team is in flux and the FO as well as the fans don't know what ST will look like. It could be the Saints in Twins uniforms as far as anyone knows. -
If there is a reason to compare this organization to the Pirates it's because of the FO. All the talk about payroll is getting old. The FO has made bad FA signings again and again. First was signing washed up pitchers to try and fill a rotation. Then the biggest mistake of all signing Donaldson who didn't fit the team. To add insult to injury signing Correa to a one year walk away deal. Then after he couldn't get a deal anywhere else sign him to a deal that couldn't be kept. And last but not least signing Lopez who lost half the season to injury. Then to make things really fall apart keeping a manager in 25 after the total collapse of 24. Looking at the Pirates they had seen enough of their manager and dismissed him early. And he of course was the bench coach for Rocco before taking the Pirate job.

As the team stands with no manager and the coaching staff unknown the FO will be taken advantage of. With 5 other teams looking for a manager that are far better than this organization 26 looks bleak. We know one thing for sure ticket prices will be higher as well as concessions. Weather or not Lopez is traded or not,one thing is for sure Ryan will be traded. You can't have unhappy players in the dugout. He is in the prime of his career and wants to win not wasting another year with a losing organization.

It will be a minor league team in Major League uniforms in 26 because of the lock out in 27. You for sure see Ryan gone wearing a California team uniform probably the Giants. You can't have a unhappy player in the dugout, just ask Sony Gray. The BP will be full of arms from St Paul that will want to be SP waiting for one or more SP to fail or get injured.

Rocco Baldelli Wasn't the Problem
David Maro replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
In Falvey's statement to the fans he said we both failed,so why is he still there. He should have dismissed Rocco and been man enough to resign. When managers are changed more often than not they are dismissed, very few walk away. Rocco with his daily lineup shuffle and position changing with players turned this team into a losing team. For me please finish the job and relive Falvey of his job and sell the team. -
This team is in flux and is the FO going to blow up the roster even more before a manager is hired for input. And bringing Toby from St Paul is not a good idea. Looking at the prospects that have been brought up they all are showing to be weak in fundamentals. It seems like he is being told to ready the position players to play multiple positions, not working on the fundamentals. Looking at the list this job is just above the Rockies because of the roster issues being unknown.

Fans won't pay major league prices for a minor league team. As of now no one knows what this team will look like 3 months from now. They have a number of players on the roster who either will want to leave or will be traded. With the team in flux who would want to come in as manager. This is what happens when you have people in charge who run a business into the ground. It's time to sell and give new ownership the opportunity to get this turned around.

Twins President Derek Falvey is In Over His Head
David Maro replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If a company has a FO in place for 7 years or 9 years and it's failing why would any owner give that person more responsibility. This organization is a train wreck getting worse by the day. If left the same you can only imagine who he will bring in as manager. And for that matter who in their right mind would want the job.- 81 replies

Twins President Derek Falvey is In Over His Head
David Maro replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
All the talk about this that and the other thing. Falvey has had 7 years to do things his way and failed. Who here thinks any real manager is going to come here to manage this team. The team has become a shell of a team. In the business world he would have been shown the door a long time ago. And to all of you saying it's all about payroll look around there is teams in the playoffs with low payrolls.- 81 replies

Who as a veteran manager would want to manager this team at this point. They will want to see where things stand with the roster. Looking at this roster they see one catcher no 1st baseman, questions at 2nd and who's playing the corner outfield. Then they look at SP rotation, who is staying and how about the BP doesn't look good at this point. At this time they have a better chance with the Braves,Giants.Angels,Orioles just to name a few.

Can't fix broken with Falvey still there. He will bring in someone who will be the same same. This organization needs a clean sweep of the FO to get back to baseball. They have done ok with the pitching pipeline, but position players are put in positions to fail. As for the poor defense how can anyone get better when you come to play and find out you are playing a different position. It has been said defense starts up the middle. To start the year things looked ok there but changed fast. At 2nd base everyday was someone new. I imagine Correa was at wits end with here we go again Lee today gone tomorrow. You want fans to come back and care about the team Falvey has to go.

In his letter to the fans Falvey said we didn't deliver,so why is he not gone as well. Knowing this organization they will probably put Tingler in Rocco's place. Maybe buy a robot from Tesla to be the manager so you can program it how you want. That way you save money on paying a human manager and have the same control in the dugout.

Derek Falvey’s Pitch for Hope in Twins Territory
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I saw this afternoon Falvey dismissed Rocco saying that he and Rocco didn't get it done. If that is the case why is it that he didn't resign after he let Rocco go. To me that is using Rocco as the sapgoat for his bad decisions. I'm not a Rocco fan at all but if my boss gutted a department and said you have 2 months to figure it out I would say see you.- 64 replies

I have only one thing to say,see what a real manager can do. Who on this site had the Reds in the playoffs? If this isn't a good reason to cut bait with this FO and manager what is. I know the Reds have a tough road to get to the WS,but I hope they give the Dodgers all they can handle.

Derek Falvey’s Pitch for Hope in Twins Territory
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How about I did the best I could and resign. As long as you and Rocco remain this is 4th or 5th place team in the central. You have taken prospect after prospect and failed again and again. It is well past time to move on. It has become a unwatchable team with you at the helm.- 64 replies

This is a save my job idea by Rocco!! Let's be honest Wallner,Lee and Larnach are far from fast. You now see the whole team trying to take 2nd and even 3rd base. The big problem is they can't put the ball in play with runners in scoring position. Just like the other night when Clemens hit a triple with no outs. They struck out twice and flew out, that can't happen get the ball in play.

Larnach seems to be Kepler at the plate, too many ground balls to 2nd for outs. Wallner is just another Joey Gallo who pitchers know can't hit fastballs at the top of the zone. This team is full of hitters that can't get the ball in play when needed. Just last night there was 3 in the lineup hitting under 210. How about getting a lineup on the field at or above 235. This lineup is a 5th place team in the central.
-
They dismantled the BP at the trade deadline and might as well finish the job. Is there really a solid arm left. As I have said numerous times Ryan will be traded, because he is not going to waste another year on a last place team. Ober has the problem of a below average fastball and needs to show a major uptick in that pitch. Someone his size should be able to hit 93 to 95 with ease. That is the only way his off speed pitches play. We also don't know about the things being said in the clubhouse in regards to Rocco and Falvey. There maybe is a number of players hoping to be moved.
