  1. You completely missed the human element part of the Jorge Lopez story, which I have mentioned in numerous posts on this site.
  2. If he is anything close to healthy he is my pick to be the leadoff guy this season.
  3. I'll take 16-12. Hopefully they can get out to a hot start like last year and keep building
  4. I was looking forward to seeing him play in AAA for a full season to develop, he's never really had a chance to learn and grow without his limitations under the spotlight in MLB games.
  5. The Vazquez signing was a lowkey big win for the Twins, lots of attention on Gallo, Correa, Taylor and the Lopez trade but this signing was a huge upgrade. Jeffers can be a solid backup but they needed a guy like Vazquez.
  6. I'll be watching this as much as I can but I worry about injuries.
  7. Hopefully it's more of a precaution than anything major, his bat is one they need in the lineup.
  8. The Royals have been a riddle to me my whole life. I live 45 minutes away from KC so I've seen more Royals games than any other team in my life. At 37, I've seen the Royals make 2 playoff appearances (2014, and 2015) and they went to the World Series both times, and if you want to add 1985, the Royals have went to the World Series the last 3 times they made the playoffs. They've developed quite a few players who became stars and were traded just before they became stars. But their one constant is the lack of pitching. I remember the day Yordano Venture died, the Royals fans around me were devastated, he was the closest thing they had to an ace since the early days of Zach Grienke. I think if this team could have the stars all align circa 2014 they could make a deep run but it would mean most of their top prospects actually pan out again and I just can't see that happening twice in a decade.
  9. Whoever between Lopez, Gray, or Ryan that looks better in spring training.
  10. Thielbar is a guy that is easy to root for.
  11. I forgot about the Willi Castro signing, another Puerto Rican in the system. All together I think it was a good win to start things out.
  12. Now they have someone who can catch the wind.
  13. Are you saying Kirilloff can play the infield or Polanco?
  14. I think that's correct. Larnach is probably the odd man out.
  15. Let's hope not!
  16. I don't disagree, but it's a strange move to make nonetheless.
  17. Everything I've heard is Jeffers, Taylor, Farmer, and Gordon. Definitely doesn't make any sense but we will see if more comes out in the next 24 hours.
  18. That's the only thing that makes sense. I read this Tweet then the comments and you're right: https://twitter.com/tlschwerz/status/1628177028884070402 Also I wonder who gets dropped from the Opening Day lineup.
  19. Someone is gonna be moved to make room on the 40 man. I'm seeing a trade on the horizon.
  20. I can't imagine that all 6 starters they currently have will be without injury by the end of April so I think Maeda and Ober will both get a chance if they're not the ones on the IL. I hope I am wrong but Mahle worries me a lot and I think he is the first to go down.
  21. With his injury history if they can buy low I would be in favor.
  22. You speak truth here, this reminds me of 2021 when Toronto missed a Wild Card by 1 game, losing a game or games in April that were winnable can come back to bite a team in September/October in a close race. I'm not sure where the idea that early games are less important than late season games came from but it's absolutely false.
  23. Lopez has good stuff, I think he has a bounce back as a set up man and does well. People have to understand Lopez had some challenges with his personal situation that probably caused many of his struggles last season after the trade. Having an offseason with the team and building chemistry with the other Puerto Rican players will boost his confidence and I think we will see a bounce back season from him.
