  1. Baldi will definitely ruin him day by day. Just like he has with Kepler. If Lewis wants to win too badly, they will trade him like Rosario, Berrios and Arraez. They cant stand that type of player. And their idiotic metrics dont account for their value.
  2. Im not sure I have ever followed a team that has less understanding of sports psychology. Having a FO that is 50/50 on good vs idiotic decisions over the past 6 years combined with the worst manager in Twins history makes it hard for a competitive person to watch the Twins. Too frustrating. And I...and Im sure many others could see this coming. June meltdown. Just like last year. Weak, unintelligent, carefree baseball. The FO is a mixed bag. The manager should have been dismissed two years ago. The Twins will never win a playoff series, and likely never win a game with Baldi-ball.
  3. True story. Knew a man who served Towns at his job about 2 years ago. Towns tipped him so poorly (10%) that the server said he would dislike Towns for the rest of his life.
  4. Im excited to see if Gray goes 5-6 innings before Baldelli ruins his outing by taking him out at an idiotic time (too early or too late), then makes a confounding decision about who to bring in from the bullpen and we lose a close game. OR,,, Are we just non-competitive like the last two nights? My sense is the players have a tough time staying motivated to collectively give it their all when their efforts will be ruined by the worst Twins game manager in my lifetime.
  5. Sadly, I agree. The Twins are looking more and more like the incompetent, perenially losers. Attendance at Target Field tells you fans understand that too. The energy/emotion at Target Field this year is non existent. Well deserved when you have let the FO and Baldelli harm you product for years and ignored it. Instead of enjoying baseball I wonder how much we lose by tonight and how many more years until we have a competent manager and FO again.
  6. Do you know Rocco Baldelli? Serious question.

How would you rate his time as the Twins manager? How would you rate him this season?

      Aerodeliria

Agreed. Mediocre. On the one side, he understands the analytical side of the game well, but everything cannot be 'fixed' by looking at tendencies. According to sources, he isn't that interested in fundamental exercises like BP and defensive routines.

In all honesty, I think he has handled the pitchers well overall. The hitting is atrocious and the fielding isn't that great.

I think the Twins tend to lack focus in the crucial moments in the game when it is the most critical....this is Bruce Bochy's number one rule. Everyone needs to be focused, so everyone knows exactly what they are supposed to do when "X" happens.

  7. With the current MANAGER this team will not be able to make the postseason. Another way to look at it is he probably costs us 8-9 losses per season so we would need to have 89 win talent on the roster to get to 81-81. If the rest of the division is losers we could get to a first round where Baldelli would promptly be swept.
  8. Any child could tell the front office doesn't understand something basic about sports, no less how to set up a bullpen. They re-signed a player who ensures epic failure in any important spot when they re-signed Pagan and added very little to a weak spot (the bullpen) anyone could see from Mars. Add the fact Baldelli struggles to understand how to manage a bullpen and it is a buzz kill on the 2023 season. I know it wont happen but keep hoping we get a real manager who understands how to manage men. The fo cant be addressed til the off season. We could get a great manager now. Baldelli ensures failure when it matters. Years of track record.
  9. As I get older I realize we only have so many years of watching/following our favorite team. The news that Falvey and Baldi will be back is a slap in the face of fans like me. I will admit that this team ruined days for me this season. Its ridiculous but I would see Pagan blow a sure win and be pissed all day. Then repeat a day or two later. Then a few days later once more. The Twins think Im stupid and I have been. Not anymore. Wont be going to the games (or taking my family) next year, wont be buying merchandise, may not be following them at all. The Twins ownership/leadership couldnt care less about me as a fan, why should I care about them?
  10. I anticipate a foreboding future for the Twins. Never in 35 years of being a fan have I seen a darker future. They will always be my team, probably just need to tune out for a few more years until the overmatched, extremely uninspiring leadership of this team is gone. So jealous of the Rays and Guardians. Imagine having smart people run your baseball operation. I know its hard for us. Still do think there is a chance we win a playoff game in the next 10-15 years though. I think its important to understand as a Twins fan, our owners do not care much if the team wins. Its just a money making project for the Pohlad boys. Selling bad product year in and year out to people like me who are dumb enough to buy it.
  11. Not a betting man myself but anyone who wants to make some money bet on the Guardians the next 3 games. Tito vs. Baldelli. Easy money.
  12. Too bad we couldnt have used Wallner while it still mattered. Instead Beckham, Garlick (batting first often), etc were used when it mattered. Fun to see, if you are a Guardians or White Sox fan.
  13. A horrendous mix of a FO that didnt know how to put a competent bullpen together and a manager who is atrocious at determining how to use his pitching staff. No wonder Wes Johnson would rather coach at the University of Arkansas.
  14. Kinda tuning out now guys cuz exhibition baseball doesnt do much for me. The writing has been on the wall since the Twins epic choke against the Guardians in the summer. Baldi ball at its worse. Time to recognize its over. All the best to every Twins fan. Remember those of us who dont want Baldi back dont want him fired because we dont like him. We want him fired because we want to win another World Series and I promise you he will never get us anywhere near that level. He simply doesnt get the most from his players.
  15. Imagine having a manager that wins your 5-8 extra games a year with his brilliant management. Our reality: Losing 5-`10 extra games this year, probably more when you consider the horrendous lineup decisions with a very poor game manager. Heartbreaking. Cant win with a leader who is in over his head, Baldelli clearly is not the man for the job. Is Falvey? starting to think he may not be.
  16. Never. If we have a great season next year his poor game management will doom us. Such a frustrating season. Out managed and out smarted by the Guardians. Pathetic. Hope the Twins dont sacrifice our future with him. He has had his chance. Congrats on that 100+ win season. Lets find a coach who can win us a next playoff game. Hell, win us a playoff series for the first time in over 20 years. Teams take on the personality of their coach. This team underperforms, doesnt trust one another and chokes. I have never seen a more disappointing Twins team in 35 years of being a fan. ?
  17. My biggest concern is that Baldi and Tito are polar opposites. Tito know how to get the most out of his players and put them in a position to win. Baldelli does the opposite. Hopefully Garlick wont be batting first tonight (another example of how the Twins have to win despite Rocco's management)
  18. It is surprising to me that so many people look at this like a video game. These are real people with real human emotions. That is critical to what happens, especially in big situations no less playoffs. Pagan has an extemely low probability of ever being a clutch pitcher again. Its like giving your poor driving teenager the keys every night and being surprised she keeps getting in accidents because she got 100 percent on her driving exam. I cant remember sacrificing so much (loss after loss). Also is cruel to Pagan. Getting booed off the field half the time you walk out there cant be fun at all. He clearly cares a lot. Just failing FAR to much. If the season ended today I would look back at this season as the year Pagan cost us a playoff spot. Thats on him, but its also on Baldelli and the Front Office.
  19. I cant wait until Baldelli is fired. Cant stand watching him and his weak team anymore. Im out. Cant take the losing as well as he can. He has ruined our season. He will never win us a playoff game no less a playoff series. Watching the Twins just makes me angry. What a loser. Skol Vikings! Go Gophers!
  20. The Twins rarely win because of Baldelli. They frequently lose because of him and his low key "we'll try to win tomorrow" attitude. Outside of blowing up in the Toronto game he is weak and unimaginative. He has no feel for human emotions. Pitching coaches dont just abandon their teams in the middle of the season if they respect their boss. Time to find someone who can add wins not subtract them.
  21. In the postgame last night Baldelli said he is waiitng for one of the hitters to carry the team. Im paraphrasing. However, I think the Baldelli is uncomfortable with guys who are too intense about winning. This team badly needs that kind of player. Guys like Eddie Rosario and Arraez make him uncomfortable and he would rather lose that use a player who questions him (see Smeltzer).
  22. The team has gotten so hard to watch that as a huge Twins fan, I can barely take it. I cant imagine how frustrating it is for the team to live in that world every second of the day. Baldelli is simply not a good manager. He may be OK but I have come to the painful realization that he is not capable of understanding the non-metrics part of the game. How many times has Pagan been put into a big spot and cost the team the game. Why does Arraez not bat first every game. Why does it sound like Buxton largely determines when he will play and if he plays in the field? Why are our hitting and pitching coaches poor and now coaching in college (after leaving mid-season). The Twins staff is pretty awful and it only takes a computer to use analytics. TIme to find a head coach who understands the rest of it. TIto is one of the best managers in the game and those managers are not easy to find. However, if he was the Twins manager the Twins are 10 games ahead of the White Sox and the Guardians are a third place team.
  23. This was a big game for the Twins and may be remembered as the day the Twins laid down the gauntlet and started to truly kick ass. That horrific call was mind numbingly frustrating but the Twins played excellent baseball overall on a day many players needed a day off and our 5th starter started against Toronto's ace. It may well be remembered though for galvanizing the team. Baldelli's response to the call was appropriate and inspiring. As a Twins fan I am now ready to go to war for this man. Great managers react and act in moments like those. He is becoming an excellent manager. The Twins are going to finish this season strong and win a playoff game. Heck maybe even a playoff series.
