  1. The have lost 8-2 the last two games cumulatively and I didn't watch a second of either game despite being the Top Twins Fan. Not cuz I don't love my Twins, but because seeing my guys get out in a position to fail is too much for my heart. If I feel that way as a guy who loves baseball with a passion, how do the guys in the clubhouse feel. It how teams give up on a manager. It started the night Rocco insisted Maki leave Alcala in to give up 5 runs. You could see Maki in the dugout seemingly begging Rocco to take Alcala out to no avail. The Twins have been a poor team since. Approximately two weeks later Rocco has the worst managed game I have ever witnessed on Saturday the 7th. Then blows up his team for not trying hard enough or something. Imagine how Ober felt after that meeting. Leadership matters. Rocco is failing the Twins and it's fans. TD staff, please don't delete this thread or merge it into oblivion. Thank you.
  2. On the two day anniversary of the worst managing job I have seen in 40 years of watching baseball, the loss Baldelli crafted Saturday night in KC, I ask: Is Baldelli the worst manager in Twins/Senators history? As someone who has watched thousands of Twins game it's a no doubter; 1. Tom Kelly 2. Ron Gardenhire 3. Paul Molitor 4. Rocco Baldelli Someone suggested Ray Miller when I brought this up on another post but since Baldellis skills or lack there off have been on full display it is a perfect time to ask. I'm also curious if anyone old timers remember: Did the Sens or pre-Kelly Twins have any managers as poor as Rocco?
  3. No prob not too fun to work for a guy who creates failure and then blames you for it.
  4. Yes, even though the emporer has no clothes, it doesn't mean you are allowed to tell anyone.
  5. There aren't enough negative things to say about Baldellis atrocious managing. Twins clubhouse is told to keep quiet. Twins fans are also encouraged to keep quiet. Drink the kool-aid.
  6. Thanks. Makrs me feel better that at some point there was a manager worse than Rocco. Feel like I am the one Twins fan on here who both want to win a Championship and know that Rocco is a horrendous manager. I couldn't even watch the Twins yesterday. After Rocco crafted that loss Saturday night I knew how hard it would be for the guys to go play knowing that Rocco is always searching for a way to hurt the team. Guess this is when the Twins just want you as a fan to go away. A well run organization wants rabid, involved fans. The Twins just want someone to support them financially. I highly doubt anyone there really cares that Rocco gives us a 0% chance at playoffs success. Not easy being a Twins fan who actually cares about winning. Sadly I think most Twins fans have figured out that out. In other words, they'll watch when the playoffs start and yawn when they're eliminated. No reason for emotional investment when the team doesn't care about you.
  7. It's truly a shame that inside or outside of he clubhouse: Calling out Rocco for having no clothes is strongly discouraged. It's how you can shave wins from your teams total every year while doing so nearly completely under the radar. My post yesterday disappeared. But I inquired if the is the worst manager in Twins/Senators history. Certainly he is the worst Twins manager in 35+ years.
  8. Of course he has. He is the worst Manager in Twins history. I can't stand watching the Twins now. Seeing how Rocco will costy team the game is simply not fun.
  9. On the one day anniversary of the worst managing job I have seen as a Twins fan, I ask those Twins fans older than myself: Is Baldelli the worst Manager in franchise history? He is hand down the worst Manager of my lifetime -since Tom Kelly. Enjoy that sweet Purple win Minnesota! 💜
  10. His lineups, his timing on when to remove pitchers and keeping players from getting into comfortable roles are all areas he struggles in more than any Twins manager in my lifetime. He is atrocious in these areas.
  11. Please dont try to get us excited. And to be clear: People being fired is not cool. A new manager to help us win would be.
  12. We were on our way to winning this game when Rocco's decision making got involved.
  13. Of course he should but he has a ring of protection around him. Upper management likes that he doesnt have the capacity to make baseball decisions like say Tom Kelly or Gardenhire who would have told them 'no way' when they told him they had a great idea and that tonight Duran wouldnt be closing or that Ober would be taken out after the 7th with 83 pitches. Or it is his decision and he has no real baseball IQ as anyone who watches most/all games knows. This isnt a one off decision, its a conistent overthinking or not understading human beings. Human beings like to know their role and what to expect. Whos leading off? Am I the setup guy or closer? Either Rocco or his bosses think simply looking at a spreadsheet will give them the answer and instead knowing your players avoids weeks of heart ache as the players see for themselves that the emporer has no clothes- good baseball decisions are NOT being made.
  14. And the Red Sox have one of the best managers in baseball who will get the most out of his team. We have Rocco who will put his put his team into a position to lose. (see tonight)
  15. Rocco has been creative in finding new ways to put guys into positions to fail and hurt the Twins.
  16. Fun loss Rocco. Thanks for the heart break! The worst part is I know how you manage yet I was stupid enough to not see it coming. Duran brought in for the 8th. Ouch! what a way to hurt Twins fans.
  17. Feel like Rocco pulled my heart out of my chest and stomped on it. Cant imagine how much it must hurt Ober and the guys. Royals were thrilled to get the win (with Rocco's help).
  18. In an important game after defying all odds and coming up with a common sense lineup that produced a couple of runs, Rocco found a new and reliable way to craft a loss tonight on national television. Take dominant Ober out after 83 pitches and replace him with our closer who hates being put into non-save save situations. Then light the match and watch the game (fairly predictively) go up in flames. Managers do matter. Rocco crafted this loss. He is in over his head and will NEVER win us a Championship. In the playoffs you need to get the most out of your players. Rocco's game management does the opposite.
  19. Looking forward to tonights game as usual but tempering my excitement since most of the posters on this blog could put together a better lineup than Rocco will tonight. If seeing the lack of baseball knowledge in the lineup is a downer for me every night, I can imagine how the players feel. Havent looked yet, and really dont want to. It would be amazing to have a lineup that made sense one night. Hopefully we can win this big one tonight despite Rocco.
  20. The players are far, far more important in the win-loss column. I simply wish we had a manager who did a significantly better job setting the Twins up for success.
  21. Some people actually want to win more than the Central Division title and arent afraid to call out The Manager for being sub par. Another option. Wishing daily for a manager who will help us win games, not help us lose them despite upsetting several Twins fans who would defend him no matter how much he hurts the team.
  22. We are stuck with the owners. They dont have to keep Rocco. Sure hope whenever that day is they choose a true baseball man as the manager. Someone who is intelligent and understands human emotions. Two qualities Rocco doesnt have.
