  1. If he could pitch like he did in 2012 he'd be our best starter.
  2. My bet is that he gets his 1000 win-- but it will be in April. (not necessarily April 2014 or as Twins manager)
  3. Does any one knowWillingham's status? Is he done for the year or will we see him playing again this year?
  4. That was my guess PTBNL = Drew Butera
  5. Saw the Thread title and assumed we got Nick Punto back!
  6. - he would be the best option for the Twins for this role too.
  7. 3 YEARS FROM NOW Rick Anderson will have converted Trevor May and Alex Meyer to pitch-to-contact starters. Ryan Braun will deny using PEDS Anthony Weiner will be apologizing and saying that behavior is behind him The more things change the more they stay the same
  8. You're right- he does make good points. The thought that his perceived value is low-- could be bothering Justin and part of the source of his recent sluggish production.
  9. Too bad the Twins didn't think this way... and to think they had two MVP's not just candidates!
  10. Not to argue, just a comment on retaining players-- Hunter, Nathan, Crain, Guerrier, Cuddyer and Kubel all left pretty much as soon as they could. If Pelfrey strings a few more good starts together he likely will be a candidate to be traded later this month.
  11. The Twins won't pay Pelfrey $ 6-8 million and isn't he a Boras client? I think Scott Baker had the same idea but its not working out for him. Jack Morris has relatives in the area and in 1991 he signed a one year contract with the Twins with no intention of returning in 1992. World Series hero or not. It happens.
  12. Pelfrey signed a one year contract for a reason--- so he can sign a "pelfrey friendly deal" for 2014. There is no way he comes back to Minnesota next year. If he isn't traded before the deadline-- he will find someone who will offer more than the Twins will this winter. He is already improving.
  13. The White Sox are doing everything they can to make sure this doesn't happen. They are matching the Twins- loss for loss.
  14. How to increase your trade value-- but Justin Morneau
  15. Maybe he plays left field and Willingham becomes full time DH with Doumit provides the pop off the bench?
  16. Activating Tony Oliva makes more sense. Tony can hit left handers.
  17. You could have included Craig Monroe and Ron Jackson! And Tony Batista and Juan Castro--oops wrong country....
  18. I think Seth's roster projections are probably pretty close. There may be a few cast substitutions among the "subs." They will keep Hicks at Rochester through April. Come June or July we will probably see an outfield of Benson-Hicks-Arcia as Willingham and Morneau are traded at the deadline.
  19. Excellent observation, Chief!
  20. so in essence we traded Liriano for Correia-one lousy pitcher for another- and we're paying less-- Look at the sunny side-- this is a good move!
  21. My bad. I thought it might be sarcasm-- but you never know. I really am only trying to build up my post total!
  22. Would you even want those three?? Sherrill and Wheeler are has beens and Tavares has been out of the majors for over two years. If Ryan signed any one of those three-- he would be crucified on this site.
  23. Look at it this way--- Kevin Correia's 162 game average would have made him SECOND in starts, wins, innings pitched and strikeouts on the 2012 Twins team. Hopefully Ryan has more in store. I think Correia is (will be) better than Pavano, Liriano, or Blackburn. What did we pay those three last year? His signing probably signals those three are not coming back--- so be happy:)
