  1. Let’s not refer to him as a kid. The man is 26. I’m not saying he’s finished progressing as a ball player. The low babip puts a big smile on my face. He’s going to do damage this year:)
  2. The weights not really an issue for me. He’s still young and those sort of things don’t catch up to you for years, Prince Fielder. By then he’ll be playing for some other team on a free agent deal.
  3. It’s cause the Dodgers have all the starting lefties.
  4. I wonder what Greg Holland wants for a one year deal.
  5. I don’t think this offseason could’ve gone much better. The Twins never making a push to go for it was really starting to wear down my fandom. Now I’m only slightly crazy for telling my friends we can win the WS.
  6. I like to put speed down the line up so it’s leess likely to be wasted on home runs.
  7. Adrianza also plays corner outfield, and better than Grossy imho.
  8. I’m thinking he gets more like 3/50 with a player opt out after next season. Arrieta may not be what he was 3-4 years ago but he still has a better track record than Ervin did when he signed his last deal for more money than that.
  9. He will get better than that. Maybe if it was a player option.
  10. If Kintzler can close effectively and keep us in the hunt, Rodney should do just fine. Twins have an upgraded bullpen backing him. Let’s see those arrows fly!
  11. With Ervin out for opening day and more this is Jose’s chance to step up and be the player we all believe he can be. He’s got great stuff and looks outright nasty at times. Just don’t put to much pressure on yourself bud. And have a lot of fun beating the damn yanks!
  12. Four man rotation out the gate: Berrios, Odor, Gibber, Mejia With Hughes as long man/spot starter makes five. Bullpen: Rodney, Reed, Duke, Pressley, Rogers, Hildy, and Kinney is seven, makes 12 total pitchers. Position players: two catchers, Mauer, Morrison, Dozier, Polanco, Sano, Rosario, Buxton, Kepler, Adrianza, Grossy, Escobar makes 13 hitters for 25 total. This leaves Vargas in limbo and Duffey stretching out in AAA. My first cut is Grossy when Big Erv returns. Using Adrianza as they did at the end of last season, platooning with Kepler.
  13. Piranhas with power!!
  14. I’m scared the Twins extend Dozier and get Dan Uggla on the decline.
  15. Final arb year $20 team option $25 team option $30 player option $30 player option Crazy??
  16. This is Garver’s sink or swim moment. He’ll either find his stroke or drown between now and May/June. I wonder how much Lucroy will cost for a 1 yr deal.
  17. Don’t forget Buxton was an early draft pick who signed for a big payday once already. I think it less likely he signs anything beyond his arb years. Signing a deal so he doesn’t have to go through arb meetings is what I would do if I were him. Side note: paying a player who’s game is based on speed into their 30’s is folly.
  18. K-)> Does that work for an archer? I like the signing. He seems to have a great work ethic and be a model teammate. Hopefully all the work he puts in keeps the arrows flying all season. You know he wants to win this late in his career.
  19. Joel Zumaya threw a handful of pitches a few years back before needing TJ.
  20. Let’s not forget Adrianza is the one who platooned nicely with Kepler down the stretch last year. LoMo pushes Vargas out no doubt. Twins will have 13 position players to start the season, but sooner or later Grossman or Adrianza will have to be let go to make way for a 13 man pitching staff.
  21. My timing was right. Wrong player.
  22. I understand making low risk deals to cover for Ervin being hurt. This is a no upside move. If he breaks camp with the team you can throw away your hopes and dreams because that means they’re not willing to pay the price, $ or prospects, for an impact player.
  23. Chris Tillman within the next hour. 1/$6
  24. I’m not gonna read 23 pages but yes we’re all wasting our time. It will never happen. Accept Chris Tillman and other bounce backs. Best we can hope for is a trade for and ace, Archer is no ace.
  25. I think the FO has done a really good job this offseason. Looking at all the free agent signings, Pineda and Reed are the two best deals league wide as of yet. Rodney is a fine deal, and Duke has real potential. The Twins are still in the markets, both trade and free agency, for big additions to their weakest link. By the time this all plays out we’ll get one of Darvish, Lynn, Cobb, Arrieta, or Archer, optimistically.
