  1. Now that Allen is out of the picture. What’s bottom dollar for Kimbrel? 3/50, opt out after 2? If this team doesn’t add some real talent it needs to be blown up, and fast.
  2. 3/100 with an opt out after the 2nd year and NTC. This allows him to try for a mega deal while he’s still in his prime. Twins can ship him for prospects or hit him with a QO. Most likely Falvine will offer 1/20 though. Don’t really want him on the team but that’s the deal I would offer.
  3. Thinking outside the box of a five man rotation. How about signing two of these FA; Bucholz & Pomeranz, and going with a FOUR day EIGHT man rotation. 1)Berrios/Gonzo 2)Gibson/Mejia 3)Odor/Bucky2 4)Pineda/Pommy Leaving 4 or 5 spots for the bullpen 1)May 2)Rogers 3)Reed 4)Romero, longman, “starter” replacement 5)Hildy or your choice of RP with options Each pair making 40 starts and combing for ~300 innings = 1200, leaving less than 300 for the remaining 5 bullpen spots. It would be nice to get that out of the top four mentioned. Twins could then utilize an opener(Hildy, Vasquez?) for the fifth man who can share a roster spot with a position player(Astudillo) who also has options.
  4. Would much rather of had Herrera on his deal. Especially considering all the bullpen arms are coming off the board. Who’s left but Kimbrel for “game changers”?
  5. I know Rogers is an outlier in the WAR part of the equation. Having an elite player anywhere on the roster holds more value to me than an average player. I know it’s a SSS, but he looks really good and is as good a bet as any to outperform his position more so than a Polanco or Kepler.
  6. Berrios and Rosario have shown the most consistency and talent at the MLB level so they have to go 1,2 for me. 1)Berrios 2)Rosario 3)Rogers- elite 4)Kiriloff 5)Lewis 6)Romero 7)Polanco 8)Buxton 9)Garver, as a C 10)Sano 11)Cave 12)Kepler 13)Mejia 14)Astudillo, I know 15)Thorpe 16)May 17)Gonzo 18)Arraez 19)Gordon 20)Cruz, only because the option year. I looked at it almost like future WAR, for Twins, on current contract.
  7. Not sure what a Twins package would’ve looked like. I do believe they could’ve sent lesser prospects than what the Mets did, with Twins not needing to send back a bad contract like Bruce or Swarzy. But here it goes; Kepler + Reed + Gordon + Stewart. Cave makes Kepler expendable, Reed = Swarzy , Arraez > Gordon, and Stewart = meh.
  8. I was ready to give up on Buxton after his concussion when he was with the Kernels, and Sano once he, seemingly, showed he doesn’t give a crap by showing up out of shape every year. Top prospects should always be traded. Why wait for an investment to mature when you can swap it for on that has already matured.
  9. Yes, punt. Trade anyone in arbitration already and hope the Lewis, Kiriloff, Graterol era comes out better. You think this core is anywhere near contention, or even pretenders?
  10. I agree that Santana is better than Grossy but he’s not what is needed. What’s needed is a middle of the order bat to build a lineup. The only thing the Twins have close to that is Rosario, and with Donaldson off the market I don’t think anymore are available. I know batting average isn’t a stat most people like but Santana hit .229 last year. This team doesn’t have a core to build on. What they need is short term veterans that can be traded at the deadline like last year. I expect many of the same type of “fall to Twins” deals that were made last year.
  11. I’m saying I don’t want either of them on the team.
  12. I don’t understand the interest in Santana. He’s old, expensive, dh only, barely league average, and requires a trade.
  13. Corn Job, lol. Good pickup, better than what we have, albeit marginally, relatively cheap, non guaranteed roster spot. Twins have nothing to lose by picking him up.
  14. I’m really interested to see how the pitching staff will be handled this year. With no veteran workhorse innings eater type and a number of guys pushing up from AAA. Free agent signings could be a big clue. If they go heavy on the bullpen I wouldn’t be surprised to see an opener, or maybe something even newer, going on this year.
  15. I like your style! But let’s sign Adam Jones instead of Nelson Cruz. Moving Marwin to 3rd and Sano to DH.
  16. A lot of options out there in the infield free agent list this year, and enough depth to get some nice deals I think. Jose Iglesias, DJ Lemaheu, Mike Moustakas, Marwin Gonzales, Daniel Murphy could all be had on affordable deals. Curveball, Eddie Rosario played a lot of 2nd in the minors.
  17. It’s starting to look more and more like by the time Buxton and or Sano figure things out, if at all, they’ll be out the door towards free agency. If this team was gonna have a sustained run those two needed to be cornerstone types already. Here’s to the next rebuild.
  18. Trade EE. I fail to see the drawbacks of adding prospect depth by shipping out an expiring contract at peak value. The “losers” of the Machado deal need a fall back option. The cupboard isn’t barren in the infield, Adrianza, Polanco, Gordon, and Sano will all be here going forward. It’s not like we can’t find a replacement in the offseason, possibly EE himself.
  19. Hopefully these games aren’t snowed out too. Does anybody know if these games will be broadcast on the normal radio frequencies?
  20. Neither bad nor bad luck. Just plain stupid. Take what your given.
  21. I’m not too worried. It’s the last year of his deal so if he comes back and is horrible they will just 60day DL and go with hopefully not Hughes.
  22. No slow start for Dozier this year. The bunt is a non factor for me. Pitchers and catchers play defense too.
