  1. Could someone please post the Twins minor league schedules and locations for the last week of spring training beginning on 3/23.
  2. If possible could someone please post the last week of pre-season games for the Twins in March and the schedule for the minor league teams in ALL classifications also for the same time period.
  3. ^^^Whichever of those three pitchers mentioned leaving doesn't matter, it and they are still a mess. Just stick Gibson in the rotation and forget about the fifth rotation spot. Or does Gibson simply add to the mess? No one really knows yet about him but for sure we know about the other three, none of them would be considered in a rotation on any other MLB team. Oh maybe on their AAA teams they would be acceptable but that's about it.
  4. In what role can Chris Colabello possibly help outside of pinch hitting and DH against southpaws. He assuredly cannot help in his defensive outfield play, can he? Again as I said before and maintain strongly peopling a roster with folks like him guarantees a team totaling 90 loss seasons. I wish Chris well but in Rochester not in Minnesota as that is simply not going to happen. If he were to have had a decent MLB career it would have happened five years ago or so.
  5. While Chris Colabello may be a good person that does not translate into him being able to help the Twins, I do not think. How many posters agree with Seth's assessment of Chris? To me if and when you put people like this on a MLB roster you are heading for another season of 90 plus losses. Gibson on the other hand has potential to help the team, Colabello does not.
  6. It is live on channel 639 in Bismarck as I type this.
  7. Can anyone help me out here in Bismarck as far as watching tonight's game live? I do believe MLB network is replaying it @ 10:00 p.m. Central time.
  8. What is the moral stand on surgery for ball players? In all other matters employees do what their employers tell them to do but not for surgery. To me that is appropriate but how about simply "resting" or not? I would think that should be a compromise between the ballclub and the players. But perhaps surgery should be also. Opinions on this one please.
  9. Hopefully the Twins will not draft a pitcher that will immediately require TJ surgery as was the case with Gibson and Wimmers in back-to-back years yet.
  10. I for one do not think Sano's impact in 2015 on the Twins is equivalent, way too much to consider yet. For one thing Chipper will be in the Hall, will Miguel?
  11. Years ago now I read that one MLB organization did routinely require their young pitchers to have TJ surgery. Unfortunately I do not remember where I read that or which organization it was. Anyone else have a like memory, let us know if you did. It could also have been an erroneous report but I am positive I read it somewhere and was surprised when I did.
  12. Vargas at first base in 2015? Hardly a sure thing I would venture. Please advise.
  13. A lot of the posters on various Twins' subjects seem to automatically assume the Twins will make their "run". Granted there is a lot of young talent coming along now but that does not necessarily translate into a decent "run". What the rest of the division does plays huge in that in my mind.
  14. How about Vargas in the batting order too? Viable or not?
  15. When this terrible situation arose when Smith was the G.M. why didn't Ryan step in and help him out? After all, he was still Smith's boss.
  16. Major League Ready - kudos to you for the most reasoned post yet on the situation regarding the signings of Nolasco and Hughes.
  17. "good for a long time" is an assumption, isn't it? Sure the future looks bright but a lot can go wrong with some of the prospects in that they will never perform up to high standards thus resulting in lackluster teams. Sorry to be so pessimistic but I think we need some realism peppered in with the optimism about the young players.
  18. And how is the development of the Twins prospects going anyway? Quite well if one looks at the big picture and is patient. I would think by 2016 at the latest the team should be a contender if all goes well but I also think some key free agents must be sprinkled in with the youngsters for total success. So we'll see how that plays both with the owners and management.
  19. Well then let's speculate that ownership would rather pocket the differential between revenue and payroll than spend it on ballplayers. How else can one label it?
  20. How can any MLB team reduce their payroll by $12MM and expect to compete? This kind of non-spending by ownership puts the burden squarely on ownership, not management. What other MLB team is conducting itself in like manner? Please advise.
  21. Anyone that posts here should not be so naïve as to believe that the Pohlads desire anything above the profit making the franchise brings to them. It is patently clear especially when we look at the off-season signings this time around. Clearly bottom of the barrel moves although much was spent on the two free agent pitchers Nolasco and Hughes. Where else was significant money spent to improve the roster? Certainly retreads such as Kubel, Bartlett and Guerrier do not count, do they? At least I hope they don't. Oops, have to stop typing now, wool over my eyes put their by Twins' ownership prevents me from continuing my reply.
  22. ashburyjohn - need help in accessing what you mentioned in your post of 2:11 pm today, specifically Other29TeamsDaily. How do I find it on the Twins Daily website?
  23. I am excited about the pitchers mentioned and being in Cedar Rapids this season but surely there are other prospect pitchers with other organizations who will also do fine in that league, the Twins do not have a corner on them I am sure.
  24. The entire tenor of this thread indicates to me that whatever the Twins do in acquiring still more players for this season is that it will be simply bargain shopping. Aren't we all just a little bit tired of that approach?
  25. Another huge assumption about those pitchers dominating the league, obviously other teams too have some intriguing young pitchers.
