  1. Yes, absolutely. However, who or what is Koivu, and who is this wild GM of which you speak?
  2. Also of note...Verlander is 1-0 against the Angels, and has another start against them this weekend.
  3. I don't think 85 will be necessary. The Angels just lost their 76th game, meaning they can max out at 86 wins. They need to go 9-1 to get to 85. On the downside, the Twins will have to scramble to get to 85 too.
  4. Hey, only one game away from the offense breaking out for double digits when Gibson starts again.
  5. Man, that three-run lead was nice while it lasted. You know, for that one out....that it lasted.
  6. 325. Evin Correia He who shall not be K'ed. Or shall not K. Whatever.
  7. And Joe Mauer's 2017 batting average now matches his career average. (.308)
  8. I went looking for news on Meyer and found the news on his labrum surgery. Then I found the 200-post thread on him in the other baseball forums. Whole lotta hand wringing going on! That is a shame about Meyer. I had high hopes for him, felt the Twins didn't give him the chance he deserved, and was disappointed he was traded. But back to the point. Let's hope Nolasco gives up 2-3 home runs per start over these next three games.
  9. Thank you Cleveland. Down to 11 with 11 games to play. Is anyone else glad that the Angels may trot out Ricky Nolasco three times in their final 12 games?
  10. I don't know, I personally don't think it's fun to look at those numbers much at all...especially this week, and especially considering against whom they were mostly compiled.
  11. If he is back to his old self, Mauer seems like a player who could hit well for several more years. Two more hits last night, needs 23 in 11 games.
  12. Or even 322. Lester Oliveros
  13. Lest we forget 321. Tim Stauffer
  14. It's not easy being green. Hey, silver lining...only one - or maybe two - more games in NY this year!
  15. Really wanted to see Dozier gets a chance to tie it up against Chapman. Kepler hit it too hard.
  16. When did Alex Gordon start playing left field for the Yankees?
  17. Of course, the Yankees have left 10 men in scoring position. This game is somehow still winnable. We could use an Earl Weaver.
  18. Does this game mean we can stop talking about Garcia's win in Oakland? He's done the team as much harm as good this year. I'm not crying over the Granite bunt...but I didn't like it. You've got 9 outs left and a pitcher who has a hard time finding the strike zone. Don't give away one of those outs. (Plus, it would have been a cool story if Granite had gotten a big hit in New York. I liked his chances, with his short, choppy swing, and motivations...and the infield drawn in.)
  19. Sooner or later everyone else is going to come around to numbering their picks. Either that, or realize that my numbering system is very iffy, especially with all of the duplicates. Anyway.... 288. Scott Diamond
