  1. I'd have to assume Kohl Stewart missed out on this list then.
  2. If Stewart can locate like Greg Maddux, then velocity isn't the problem, but he doesn't have much margin for error if he doesn't have movement and great location. BTW, Muddux had a 2.86 ERA in the minors with a 5.7 K/9, compared to Stewart's 2.82 ERA and 6.0 K/9. So there's hope!
  3. That's probably true, but I think he has a much better chance at becoming an ace than Kohl Stewart. Stewart looks more like a middle of the rotation guy if he's pitching 89-92 and topping out at 93 and not striking guys out, but hopefully still getting a ton of ground balls. And maybe his natural talent allows him to regain some of the velocity and figures out how to get more into at least the 7 k/9 range.
  4. Berrios had over 9 k/9 and other great numbers at triple a, and you still can't give him the nod as best bet to be an ace? What more do you want?
  5. As long as Carlos Correa is an average defensive SS, his offense gives him the advantage over Lindor and his great fielding for me, especially if Lindor hits more like he did in the minors than he did in his hot stretch last year.
  6. The most encouraging ranking for me is Jorge Polanco at #66. Law really seems to believe in his offense and also that he's improved his speed. I've always enjoyed following his statline, and have become even more of a fan after his cameos with the Twins. I hope he has a strong year at triple-A and is ready to step in if a need arises in the middle IF this year.
  7. I think if you throw a fastball that gets a ton of groundballs, you can call it a sinker.
  8. And the Twins just graduated Sano, and yet they're still considerably higher.
  9. Sano, Arcia, and Rosario would make a nice looking offensive lineup though.
  10. I think Arcia has just as much upside as Park, and they both deserve a chance at playing time. If Arcia shows that he can be the hitter that he was in the minors during spring training, then it would be Arcia's progression would be the one being affected with limited playing time.
  11. Arcia would be a lock in that situation. I don't see any realistic scenario where Sweeney plays himself into a lock to make the team.
  12. I don't think Vielma's defense is going to be enough to make up for his lack of offense. He posted a .627 OPS last year. Pedro Florimon's career OPS in High-A is .771, and for his career in the minors, it is .679. Now, Vielma could improve (which he did in the 2nd half somewhat), but he doesn't walk, and he doesn't hit for any power, and I don't want to go back to the days of watching Pedro Florimon "hit", no matter how good his defense is.
  13. That was a really nice and unexpected win. It's always fun to watch the Wolves beat good teams, but even better when it's against the Clippers. That team is so unlikeable with all of their constant whining to the refs.
  14. I hope Melotakis spends a lot of time on the big league club this year. I'm really looking forward to seeing some hard throwing left handers in the bullpen soon, and the next guy I hope to make a jump is Cam Booser, hopefully he can pitch with a lot better control this year and he could be really good too.
  15. Mauer, Dozier, and Plouffe all moved to easier defensive positions. RF is easier to play than 3B generally speaking, but maybe more of a work in progress for Sano than for a guy who is just moving around the infield.
  16. I'm wondering if the HR "leader" is Mark McGwire, since I think he's off the ballot now. Only about half of his HRs were legit, but that's my answer anyway.
  17. I think you guys missed the part about players who are not currently on the HOF ballot for #3.
  18. I might agree with you on Kris Dunn, but I'd rather take my chances with Tyus over any other pg in the draft. Rubio had 15-4-9 on 6-7 shooting tonight...and he played 29 minutes. Mitchell waited until about 6 minutes to go in the 4th to put him back in. That makes no sense at all.
  19. Last year's rookie class seems to have weakened the list quite a bit. I think JP Crawford being #5 is one that I don't quite get. He's got limited power and speed and hit about .290 last year, but apparently has very good defense. That sounds like what could be expected of Nick Gordon a year or two down the road, but not what I think of in a top 5 prospect.
  20. That's quite the fall for Nick Gordon, #33 to #91 this year, and I'm not sure it's justified with the way he finished the season.
  21. Looking at his numbers, I'm not surprised. He's only had one good year in his entire career.
  22. Mitchell with another horrible job with rotations last night against Utah that probably cost them the game. He took out Gorgui, KAT, and Rubio at basically the same time in the third with a one point lead. This led to a 14-0 run. Karl-Anthony Towns is ridiculously good. 32 and 12 last night on 12-17 shooting.
  23. This doesn't make much sense to me either, and I have a feeling this might affect Buxton starting the season with the Twins, unfortunately. I hope I'm wrong on that though.
