  1. What a bs race that was today. Jimmie Johnson had about the 5th best car, but I can't believe how he catches so many breaks. And that overtime rule is just terrible. Why would they put a line on the back stretch that could end the race before the white flag even comes out? That makes no sense to me at all.
  2. I wonder what David Kahn thinks when he watches Steph play? And yes, I could see arguments in five years about Steph Curry being the best point guard ever. I don't think the old timers are going to like that though.
  3. If he's going to play once or twice every two weeks like Nunez will, then Polanco needs to be in Triple-A until a regular spot opens up.
  4. Even if Buxton starts in AAA, Santana would start in CF and you would have Rosario to back him up in center and then Arcia and Nunez as the two bench OFers. I guess it will depend on how they play in Spring too (like if Sweeney hits .350 or something). Hopefully Buxton just takes the job and we don't have to worry about those types of players taking up roster spots and playing time.
  5. Arcia/Santana: 99% Sweeney: 10% Benson: 1% Mastro: 2% Punto: 3% I really hope nothing allows any of Sweeney/Benson/Mastroianni to see any major league time with the Twins this year.
  6. Edit: I see you were talking about the Super 2 date in regards to Sano and Buxton It's clear to me that Berrios should start in Triple-A and pitch there for a month to get that extra year.
  7. I'd rather have Polanco down in Triple-A getting better instead of sitting on the bench for the Twins. He'll be up as soon as regular playing time opens up.
  8. Klaw doesn't seem to be much of a fan of Eddie Rosario based on the two comments on him. He also said Park should be the Twins starting first basemen... Not sure if there's anything to be read into that or if he just put mistakenly put first base instead of DH.
  9. I'm not too concerned with Buxton's mlb performance last year. He's on a totally different level than Hicks ever was when he was coming up.
  10. What about Buxton's minor league numbers make you think this is even a remote possibility? I'm guessing you're concerned with the occasional contact issues, but I'd be more concerned that Rosario struggles this year than Buxton.
  11. Rubio is the best, and only, option to set up guys for open shots late in games . Wiggins had a great first half tonight, but unfortunately played a large part in costing them the game with his terrible 2nd half. I'm till fairly happy to see them compete with a very good Raptors team on the road
  12. I've always thought of Barnes as a solid defender. Plus you can play him at the 4 quite a bit to open up playing time at sg for Zach Lavine. Barnes has shot over 40% from three the last two years. I like Batum too though, and I hope the Wolves sign someone up to this level of player this offseason.
  13. Then you have guys like Roberto Osuna closing out games for a playoff team at 20 years old. A second round pure relief pitcher coming out of college should be ready to contribute not long after they're drafted, and hopefully that's the case with Nick Burdi spending a lot of time up with the Twins this year.
  14. Rubio is 5th in assists, 2nd in ast/to, 5th among pgs in real plus/minus, and 1st in defensive real plus/minus among point guards by a wide margin. It would be tough to find an upgrade for him.
  15. Henry Ellenson is the guy I would really like to get to add some depth in the frontcourt.
  16. I totally disagree. Overpaying for a second tier guy like Barnes is what this team needs. I would like to have Ben McLemore, but he's just another average player, and the Wolves need quality over quantity. They're not going to get great quality unless they package a pick with Bazz or Gorgui... so why not just overpay for a guy instead?
  17. I know this article is mostly about the dh spot, but Santana as the opening day starter? I would guess Kyle Gibson as of now.
  18. That's true, and I know some people think the knee and ankle injuries may have hurt his athleticism a bit too, but it's clear that he is the leader of the team. I can see Rubio leading the current core to a competitive level, sort of like how Rajon Rondo won a title with a horrible shot, and I think Rubio can be a better player than Rondo ever was. I just wish Andrew Wiggins would combine his athleticism with Rubio's nose for the ball.
  19. I would love to add more shooting, especially with Gorgui playing great and reducing the glaring need at PF. Hield would potentially be a nice upgrade off the bench over the current version of Kevin Martin. Ricky Rubio is so important to this team both offensively and defensively, and I would absolutely not trade him.
  20. Hopefully Pek retires (that's the sad reality) and insurance can pay most of his contract. The Wolves are going to have to overpay for a second tier free agent. I've seen some talk of offering Harrison Barnes the max and hoping that GS doesn't match. That probably wouldn't be the worst thing when you consider the cap increasing, and a number 3/4 option on offense who can space the floor and play competent defense is exactly what they need.
  21. You're making it sound like Park has never played baseball before.
  22. The power potential is one of the things I'm most looking forward to this season, and I'm really intrigued by seeing how Park's power translates, 30 from him would be great.
  23. Just wanted to get it on the record before the season starts, my pick for the championship is Brad Keselowski winning title #2. I'll take Dale Jr. in the Daytona 500 after watching how impressive he was in the Duel tonight.
  24. Don't you think the reason why the Twins didn't want to sign a reliever to a multi-year deal was because of all of the high upside internal options? I would think these guys, along with Pressly, will have a good chance to be up by June/July.
  25. They weren't ready last year, but they were also pitching in their first full pro season (Burdi and Reed) or coming back from injury (Chargois), and Alex Meyer was doing pretty well out of the bullpen. All except for Chargois were just listed in Keith Law's top 10 releif prospects, and I'm sure they'll get the chance to pitch for the Twins this year, and maybe Melotakis too.
