  1. I've never heard the "strikes out to much to bat third" argument before. Is this a thing? Because all I know is Sano can hit, and I would have no problem with slotting him in the three spot.
  2. I agree. Jay Bruce has a career OPS+ of 109 compared to Arcia's 104, and I buy into last year being a fluke for Arcia. I wouldn't hate a trade if it was for a prospect in the 15-20 range, but I think it would cost more than that, so I'd just rather give the playing time to Arcia.
  3. I'd also be in favor of a David Blatt hiring. It sounds like Brooklyn will go after Thibodeau, who I also wouldn't mind. I don't see the Bulls letting go of Hoiberg after one season, but that would be an amazing get if that were to happen.
  4. I think Michael Cuddyer and Justin Morneau are pretty good examples of what playing in Colorado can do for a players numbers. I bet Dickerson hits in the .260-.270 range with 15 HRs this year. That's decent, but not anything special when you look at him defensively and speed-wise.
  5. I'd say the advantage goes to the Rockies. Dickerson has hit .249/.286/.410 (.695) on the road for his career.
  6. I hope he does, but I doubt it though. He's obviously a great college player and has great skill, but 6'7" PF with limited athleticism isn't usually an indicator of success. I think he could be a better version of Boris Diaw, and I'm really rooting for him.
  7. If Duffey pitches well in spring training, I would be totally shocked if Nolasco was in the rotation and he wasn't. The only person Nolasco has a shot at replacing would be Tommy Milone in this scenario.
  8. Even though the top prospect in baseball is about ready to play CF? That doesn't make any sense to me.
  9. So what do you suggest? Is a month in AAA going to help him dramatically improve?
  10. How do you know Buxton is not ready? He really hit well during his last month last year, and I also think that getting his much anticipated debut out of the way and having an entire offseason to prepare knowing that he will probably be the starting center fielder this year will help a great deal.
  11. I don't see the risk in handing the job to Buxton at all. If he starts out terribly (which I doubt will happen) just slide Rosario over and give Arcia a corner every day, or call up Kepler. Either of those options is better than giving up a prospect for Lagares.
  12. I don't want any mediocre players to get in the way of Byron Buxton's playing time.
  13. That was a really entertaining article, especially the Mauer conversation. I doubt the Mets would give up Duda for Plouffe, and I would also be greatly pained to have to give up Gonsalves and Arcia for Smith, but that would be one heck of a bullpen though.
  14. I think ESPN is worth it to watch all of their live college games.
  15. Georges Niang in the 2nd round would be great.
  16. Looking at Detroit's roster, they look really talented, but I thought the same thing last year. And since last year, their big acquisitions are basically replacing David Price and Yoenis Cespedes with Jordan Zimmerman and Justin Upton, which is roughly even when you include the bullpen upgrades. It should be an interesting year in the Central.
  17. I'd like to think that with the quantity of promising options nearly ready to go that at least a couple have a good chance to be really good.
  18. Yeah It's tough when you can expect about 5 points a night from your starting forwards each night. Wiggins has to do so much in isolation because no one else is an offensive threat.
  19. I totally agree with you on the hockey line changes that Mitchell goes with. I think at this point one of Towns and Wiggins needs to be on the floor at almost all times, especially with Zach Lavine struggling scoring the way he is right now. KAT probably just had his best game of his career tonight by the way. 27-17-and 6 blocks. He and Wiggins are really playing well right now.
  20. Thanks, I'm really glad to hear this news!
  21. According to this Forbes article, Twins games will be streamed on foxsportsgo in 2016, so that's some good news that I just learned. http://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2015/11/19/manfred-announces-3-year-deal-with-fox-to-have-mlb-games-streamed-in-market/#2715e4857a0b765a1cb563fa I probably should have looked into it more in previous years because I thought foxsportsgo was the only way you could watch their games online.
  22. So it sounds like you can't watch the games for free online with a cable or satellite subscription until 2017, did I read that right? I've enjoyed watching the Timberwolves games through foxsportsgo, and I was hoping they would be doing something similar to that for Twins games this season.
  23. That looks like it will be a reasonable contract for a power hitter who is still in his twenties. That lineup looks great on paper, but it still all depends on how much Miguel Cabrera ages and if he can stay healthy.
  24. Justin Upton to the Tigers for 6 years and $132.75M. The Tigers have a great looking lineup. It'll be nice to see all of this money they're spending result in a .500 team (I hope.)
  25. Which is why a new coach and PF is needed this offseason.
