  1. I can see it now - in a few years from now, in some sort of trivia of guessing the players who played for the 2017 Twins, we'll all be stumped when we're told we forgot Nick Tepesch, Drew Rucinski, and Adam Wilk. Now that I thought this up, I'm going to create a short section of pitchers you forgot ever pitched for the Twins. Who's He? Twins pitchers you forgot existed 2012: Esmerling Vasquez, Matt Maloney, Luis Perdomo 2013: Shairon Martis 2014: Kris Johnson, Logan Darnell 2015: Tim Stauffer, Aaron Thompson 2016: Neil Ramirez, Pat Light 2017: Nick Tepesch, Drew Rucinski, Adam Wilk...
  2. You're right, the Twins are using Wilk as a reliever, so the Berrios point isn't valid in this topic. Why the Twins are using Wilk as a reliever is beyond me...
  3. I never approved of the Wilk acquisition. I was just emphasizing the importance of waiting until Berrios is ready.
  4. Unpopular opinion: I'm OK with Berrios staying in AAA. It's likely going to be a repeat of last year if they call him up now, so I'll trust the new management to have a plan for him. They're going to call him up when they think he's ready, not when they need him. (this doesn't justify the Wilk acquisition though)
  5. Wilk has thrown 663 innings in AAA. He is not a capable starter and might pass off as a mop up reliever, but we already have Haley. I don't get this move... Wilk has no upside. We have better guys in AAA (Wheeler, Hurlbut) but I guess we going full steam ahead on the 28-29 year old retreads. This move would make more sense for the 2016 Twins destined to tank for the 1st overall pick. While I'm fine that this team isn't that interested in competing right now, why not call give Jason Wheeler or even David Hurlbut a chance? I can't believe we have Tepesch, Rucinski, and Wilk taking up 40 man roster spots.
  6. I think they used him because there was two guys on base and they didn't want to let the White Sox to start a rally. But you are right that he probably shouldn't have been warming up... but I can't blame Molitor.
  7. I have to admit I completely forgot the Twins existed today, but I just remembered to tune in. It's good to see they roughed up Pelfrey.
  8. Yup, I tried deep dish once in downtown Chicago and I did not like it. Way too much sauce. On a completely different note, Miguel Sano will serve his one game suspension today. I guess it'll be like an off day for him.
  9. If you wanted to keep Butera, then DFA'ing him was the mistake, not the trade. If DanSan becomes a vastly improved player, the blame should be on the DFA decision - the trade is just a cherry on top, it's likely they didn't want to keep him anyways.
  10. I'm surprised Rosario's hitting the 9 spot. He's been hot the last couple of weeks.
  11. Then that "proven vet" inexplicably imploded in 2016. The 2 months we had him in 2015 went very well but it would have been nice if he could have at least regressed to the mean in 2016 instead of falling off the face of the earth.
  12. I'm not falling for this ploy for free likes. You have to earn it!
  13. Dozier! It's been awhile since the last HR!
  14. Whoa, what happened there? Sure looked like he was gonna catch it.
  15. I have to believe this is Gibson's last stand...
  16. Yeah, I'm worried about Hughes as well. I think he will implode within the next month or so. Man, I wish May was healthy. We could really use him in the rotation right now...
  17. So much for Cabrera being in a slump...
  18. Still not sure why Polanco is hitting behind Castro... they need to get Jorge as many PAs as possible.
  19. Ryan Pressly has been looking really good so far... methinks he should be pitching in the 8th inning, at earliest.
  20. Yeah, that's why I said "until he graduates AAA", but that may take until 2018. You're right, we shouldn't push him. I wonder if Palka will be ready sometime this year. He could fill that role too, though he very well could post a Buxton-esque strikeout ratio.
  21. I would move on from Tonkin - Breslow should be given more chances before giving up on him and I think Duffey belongs in the pen. Also, I wonder if Granite can replace DanSan when he's ready to graduate from AAA - our 4th OF tends to play a lot, and I think he'd get enough development time playing behind Rosario-Buxton-Kepler.
