    First is Vargas down and Pinto up. We need somebody that can hit. Vargas needs to learn the spin of the ball.

    Face it, no one on the team besides Nunez is hitting the ball. I'm not a stat guy, but just looking at the BA for this lineup, it's pathetic. They can't all be this bad, or can they. The rest of the lineup even makes Poof look ok. Vargas is way over matched now that the book is out. Throw him that breaking ball and he's an automatic out. I'd give him the take sign whenever he gets 2 strikes. At least Molitor has been switching things around, and probably won a game or two that Gardy wouldn't have. And just how good is Bruno? I'd never have thought the day would come where I'd be so thrilled to see someone hit a single, but that day is here.

    Wild Turkey. When we came back from Nam in the Navy we stopped in Guam and could each bring back 5 fifths of hootch. One of my bottles was Wild Turkey, naturally. Having survived the long drive from Ft Myers to the north shore of Lake Superior, I probably won't make the end of this game, but ill stick around long enough for us to get a lead.

    I've always been in Pelfrey's corner. His main problem was keeping away from the big inning. When he can do that, he's fine. I know some don't like how slow he works, but you should see me work. He'd win 12-14 games if in the rotation all year, and that's better than some we have now. I've got no confidence in Nolasco, none.
