  1. Wow, total shock. I really thought they'd wait and Terry would retire at the end of the season. This just doesn't make much sense. Unless, Terry's health is failing and it was his idea. I'll bet the players and coaches are shocked. If this has anything to do with the trade deadline, I'm of the opinion Terry was going to go full bore in trading, and the Pohlads weren't. I'm definitely not an Anthony fan, no way he keeps the job. I'll be there's a lot more to come out in this story.
  2. Grrreat intro!! Just what I needed on a Monday morning. Now for some rice krispies.
  3. That was a nice induction for Torii. Would of been a good game to be at.
  4. I'll agree with much of the above, but think Hildenberger will be called up sooner than most anyone.
  5. Some debby downers always have to complain about something, and now someone is complaining that we beat the Rangers 3 of 4 because their staff is lousy. Well, for the last several years it seemed like every time we faced some not so hot pitcher we made him look like Cy Young. What's next?
  6. Why do we need a nickname?
  7. Coomer is the worst by far. Nunez shouldn't even be considered, he's having a great year. Joe Mays deserved it. I agree, kind of a downer thread.
  8. another win before the break would be great. Got a hunch on Vargas today!
  9. Nolasco's finally getting some runs behind him. Roserio really nailed that one.
  10. I'm taking for granted Nolasco is gone, and Hughes not in the roatation.
  11. The chain link fence is only by the bullpen, but I'd like to see that covered with padding too.
  12. Max just made me think of a young Mantle when I first started watching him when he came to camp. Very young, and raw, but a body to grow into. It's been a trip watching him work his way up, as he's had some bad times, injuries etc, but I've seen a big difference this year compared to last. When he was called up late last year he didn't get much of a chance, but did get his first hit. He was starry eyed, and out of his element. This year he looks so much more comfortable and confident. And now he's discovered he can hit the ball out of any park, and is feeding off of that. The pitchers will figure him out, but he's got a good eye in the box and good brain in his noggin. He's here to stay and will give us all many memories.
  13. No way would I trade Santana. An offer would just have to be totally lopsided in our favor to consider. And his contract is fair. Many have overly optimistic views of our young arms, but how many will even make the majors, and is there even one that will be as good as Santana. The minors are just a step above the St Paul Saints, granted Kintzler pitched for the Saints and is having success at the major league level, but not many make it. Hamburger is back pitching for the Saints. The Twins will need a veteran arm to lead the younger guys for the next 2 years and Santana is that guy. There will be 2 or 3 rotation guys gone by next spring and hopefully a rotation that will give up a chance for a much better record. Keep Santana to lead that rotation.
  14. I could write a book here, but will just say welcome back Neil Allen. The rest of your life starts now, good luck.
  15. Dick, "a lazy pop fly to center, and........it's gone" lol.
  16. I think Kepler will take over for Mauer eventually at 1st base. However I do think his arm is better than what's been shown so far. I'd rate his arm better than Buxton's.
  17. We didn't add to the runs scored total today, the average is going down.
  18. Good to see Santana, both of them, have good games. And Ervin's 18th complete game. Twins are starting to look better.
  19. Another radio game. I'll have to listen to the bombs the Twins hit today.
  20. This game was worth waiting for! Seeing the future guys look so comfortable, like they've been here forever. They will be for a long time.
