  1. CTC is a Hall of Famer, no question. Career WAR similar to Count Chocula and Golden Grahams IMO.
  2. When I was a kid, this stuff was the !$% http://www.mrbreakfast.com/ucp/316_932_ucp.jpg Another favorite: http://static.caloriecount.about.com/images/medium/marshmallow-safari-cereal-32240.jpg Now that I'm older, I've matured. More health-conscious now. So with that in mind my new favorite is Market Pantry's Blueberry Crunch. If you ever go to Target and they have it in stock (sells out fast at mine), buy it. Thank me later.
  3. Tonkin's average fastball velo is identical to Joaquin Benoit and Ryan Madson's. He has the arm strength. He does appear to throw a 2-seemer and/or sinker instead of a 4 seemer. And he throws his FB a lot- 74% of the time vs. 45% and 50% for Benoit and Madson. Personally I would ditch the 2 seemer in favor of a 4 seem with more rise. Forget ground balls, try to get popups and whiffs. And throw the slider more.
  4. Could really care less about the exact $$ of a Sano extension. It should be a priority though, to lock up at least a couple FA years. Prospects like him don't come down the pipe very often at all. And the longer they wait, the harder its going to be to get done, barring injury, underperformance, etc.
  5. Twins with 15 strikeouts thru their first 3 games. For those of you counting at home that's a K/9 of 5.0.
  6. IMHO the Twins have no choice but to go with the youth. Teams don't win with many vets in the bullpen these days.
  7. Seems like a safe bet that Jepsen reverts to his career norms too, and hopefully no worse. That is, probably 3rd or 4th on the depth chart of a good team.
  8. I used to do the free proxies but grew impatient with how unreliable they were. I also do not understand the vulnerability angle so for convenience/security I wound up shopping for a dedicated service and found unblock-us to fit my needs. I have used it the past two seasons. There is a video tutorial on configuring your settings, after that, it is just press and play. $4.99/month, cancel anytime. https://www.unblock-us.com/
  9. Welp since Feb 1 the S&P is up 2%. I wonder if we are experiencing a "soft landing" in the market.
  10. Does anyone know if Quentin had another medical procedure in the past year on the right knee? What caused him to un-retire?
  11. They did send an email on 2/15. At least I got one. The thing to remember is that mlb.tv considers you to be "subscribed" to their service as though it were a netflix account or something.
  12. The under 40 crowd, regardless of where the fall on the political or religious spectrum, isn't as energized by Roe v. Wade as older folks. I don't think there's much question about that.
  13. Any reasonable, conservative leaning person would have to agree. Its too bad Graham wasn't this candid while he was STILL IN the race.
  14. Been experiencing slow load times and "bad gateway" errors lately. Anyone else?
  15. I know, its ludicrous to even suggest the idea but what if Rosario and Buxton both pick up where they left off, and the Twins have to option Buxton? What's your move? A. Rosario moves to CF, Arcia moved to LF full time, AAAA guy recalled to bench. B. Rosario moves to CF, Kepler recalled to LF full time, Arcia stays on bench. C. Rosario stays in LF, Kepler recalled to man CF D. Rosario stays in LF, Santana employed in CF, AAAA OF recalled E. Other (explain)
  16. Haha Fabulous Freebirds, there's a throwback. Are you going to WWE Live / Trump Rally at Target Center on Friday?
  17. Bob, the vids are great, keep em coming.
  18. 2014 was a fun class. Lots of intriguing HS arms although some big disappointments so far among that group (incl. my guy Kolek). The college bats as a whole seem to be doing best. Maybe the best retrospective comparisons are Nola and Turner. The Twins seemed heavily linked to both players, almost nobody on the board liked either of them. But they're both doing pretty well. As for Gordon, I just hope the glove is legit. If he can be a stud on defense then he won't need to hit for much power to be an *alright* pick.
  19. I'm trying to have an optimistic take here. Lee was merely bad in the outfield for a few years. I'd take that from Sano, as opposed to "disastrous" which is probably the only other possibility.
  20. I was a bit wary on Benintendi truth be told (basically considered him a wash with Jay). But if you look at past Golden Spikes winners, recent ones especially, and it is an impressive list.
  21. Trump is not dumb though. ******* and moron? Sure.
  22. Nobody thinks Trump is anything but low-brow but hey I like Doritos and Mountain Dew as much as steak and red wine. What I don't like are lima beans and that's what the rest of the R field is like.
  23. I'm sure his campaign writes something for him, bullet points probably, but his speech is very clearly unscripted most of the time.
  24. I dunno. Being able to think and speak on your feet seems like it would be an excellent skill to have in any kind of bilateral negotiation. And I'd say if you went down the line the past 20-30 years, the candidates who speak best off-script are the ones American voters prefer. As discussed upthread, intangibles like "sharpness" (or whatever you want to call it) seem to weigh more heavily in the decisionmaking for lots of voters (myself included) moreso than policies or resume, etc.
  25. He was the star of one of the most popular shows on TV. His debates are all unscripted, so are his pressers. He is leading the field. He's good at it.
