  1. Are you all drinking with Halsey tonight? Lol wth
  2. Is it just me or do the Twins have above average difficulty giving signs with a runner on 2nd?
  3. 30:00 mark edit: nm this is a shorter one than I saw.
  4. The "Milwaukee effect" Ie. Rapid draining of cheap beer in Wisconsin creates a negative pressure zone thus "sucking" the air from Minnesota?
  5. Now Ryan Lafebvre is quoting Major League. "He hit it too high." I love this broadcast.
  6. Bottom of the lineup barreling up some balls!
  7. Haha I know he's not quite Bill James as far as baseball minds go but his enthusiasm is contagious IMO.
  8. The best thing about playing the Royals is I can get my fix of this dope (I mean this lovingly) http://www.tradingcarddb.com/Images/Cards/Baseball/144/144-287Bk.jpg
  9. Answer, yes. Its only a matter of time before this exact scenario takes place in RCF.
  10. That may be but you compared it (your neighborhood) to Uptown. Uptown has less crime, and it is whiter, more educted, etc. Again, there are actual facts and experiences that drive the perception, in addition to some ignorance.
  11. It sounded like you were speaking for the entire north side. The perception is not 100% racist. There are facts driving the perception too.
  12. Minneapolis calls for shots fired in the last week: http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/www/groups/public/@mpd/documents/webcontent/wcmsp-177517.pdf
  13. Thrylos you're posting in the wrong thread my friend. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/21917-fun-with-numbers-2016-edition/?do=findComment&comment=457551
  14. 1987 Twins K/9 (pitchers): 6.2 1991 Twins: 5.4 2016 Twins: 8.4
  15. Far and away my biggest concern about the Twins is right field. They simply cannot go on with Sano out there. They have to solve that problem. Possibly Park needs to spend time in AAA until they can DL someone, swing a trade, etc. A distant second is Eddie Rosario's... problem... identifying pitches? Or just, identifying strikes? Or cognitive roadblock with taking pitches? I don't know what's going on there but he needs to get his head right because there is no reason at all to throw him a strike right now.
  16. I scouted orioleshangout.com for the game threads and they are all talking about the renewed focus on OBP. That was a point of emphasis all spring evidently. And it seems to have taken. They're going to score a ton of runs I think.
  17. I mean, we lost but it could have been a lot uglier IMO. We walked a ton of batters. Buxton caught two balls about 6 inches above the CF fence (one off Davis in the fist game and one of Schoop in the third). The Rule 5 kid is still on fire. I mean, their worst regular could be JJ Hardy for cripes sakes. The lineups is stacked and the bullpen has some weapons too. They just need a little starting pitching.
  18. I'll say this in the Twins defense- that O's team looks goooood. Whenever that lineup finally gels, watch out. They are going to blow teams away.
  19. Unfortunately, the data disagrees with you. http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=5&season=2016&month=0&season1=2016&ind=0&team=8&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Sano is not chasing at all. He's missing on pitches in the zone. In the upper third especially. He'll adjust. Buxton swings at a quarter of pitches outside the zone. (Oh God, Rosario...)
  20. Nope nope nope nope nope...
  21. What happens if I throw a challenge flag?
  22. Weather update. There is rain in the Baltimore area again. https://www.wunderground.com/weather-radar/united-states-regional/va/staunton/animated Maybe by 6 pm all the yellow stuff will be gone and only the green stuff will be around.
  23. Phil Hughes, RHP (11-9, 4.40) vs Ubaldo Jimenez, RHP (12-10, 4.11) Lineups: http://www.baseballpress.com/lineups Twins (0-2) 1. Brian Dozier ® 2B 2. Danny Santana (S) RF 3. Joe Mauer (L) 1B 4. Miguel Sano ® DH 5. Trevor Plouffe ® 3B 6. Eddie Rosario (L) LF 7. Eduardo Escobar (S) SS 8. John Ryan Murphy ® C 9. Byron Buxton ® CF Orioles (2-0) 1. Joey Rickard ® CF 2. Nolan Reimold ® LF 3. Manny Machado ® 3B 4. Chris Davis (L) 1B 5. Mark Trumbo ® RF 6. J.J. Hardy ® SS 7. Pedro Alvarez (L) DH 8. Jonathan Schoop ® 2B 9. Caleb Joseph ® C After another save by O's closer Zach Britton some fans are questioning Mollie's decision to let starting catcher Kurt Suzuki bat against the southpaw instead of bench player Ed Nunez. Well the Twins have a lefthanded closer of their own and the O's have one or two unproven RH bats so maybe today we'll get to see how Showalter would answer that question. On the hill is control master Phil Hughes. Holder of the all-time single season K/BB record. Hughes could be just what the doctor ordered as each O's starter has reached base twice or more in the early going- 11 times by the BB. Opposing Hughes is wild child Ubaldo Jimenez, whose nickname according to baseball-reference is simply "U" Having graduated high school level Spanish 4 I can tell you "U" is pronounced "ooo" in Spanish. Similar to "boo." So if Ubaldo pitches when the O's come to town, don't boo or U could mistake you for a fan. Instead, yell "cancer!" or maybe "you've got mail!." Anything that doesn't make the "ooo" sound really. Enjoy the game!
  24. Well besides Britton and Perkins the Twins aren't going to be facing that many LH closers so the situation shouldn't come up much more often.
