  1. Page 32 of "Molitor on Strategy."

The Twins start does not leave much room for hope. Only the 1983 Astros have started as badly and finished with a winning record. They started 0-9 and were .500 by mid-season, ultimately finishing 85-77, good for third in the NL West.

  4. Out of curiosity, are you also finding that the feed disconnects when it goes to a commercial break? It has done that to me all spring.

  6. They need to slap a pair of handcuffs on Glunny over at third base when they get a baserunner. Let the batters focus on, you know, batting. That's how they get the baserunners in the first place. Not by putting on plays. If it isn't broke, don't fix it.
  7. Maybe Molitor just wants the OF d- with Hughes on the mound.
  8. Not to mention, most of league history didn't include a wildcard, much less two wildcards.
  9. Hawk might be guilty of a little homer bias too. Just a tad.
  10. You have to wonder how much the "unlucky" sequencing is related to the Twins squandering every scoring opportunity with failed bunts, hit and runs, steals, etc. Might be bringing on some of their own bad luck.
  11. Gotta "make something happen"
  12. NFLX is finally done grandfathering its old customers into the $7.99 rate, which was a steal. Now everyone is going to pay $9.99, which is still a bargain IMO.
  13. There is a heck of a lot of squaring to bunt by Santana, Nunez, Buxton, etc. Did I see Plouffe square around? Him or Park did too. There's an adage that you can bunt yourself out of a slump, but its definitely not working and in Nunez case he wasn't even in a slump (he was 4/4 before the bunt attempt / HBP).
  14. There is some bad luck on offense, although according to baseruns, the pitching has benefited from good luck. Overall, the luck is bad. They should be 2-4 according to BaseRuns edit: I forgot, BaseRuns. Swap "luck" for "sequencing."
  15. Starting 0-6 sucks but its not like they were home games against the Brewers and Angels or something. Then I would be more worried. This roadtrip could wind up being the toughest 6 games stretch all year.
  16. Probably should have waited for a two strike count there Escobar.
  17. Look at it this way- the Twins embarked on a road trip a few days ago, the first three against a very good O's team (IMO) and now against the reigning champs. If this were mid-July, nobody would bat an eye at a 4 game losing streak over that span of games. Heck, the Royals had two 4 game losing streaks last year, and one 5 game losing streak. The season is long, there will be ebbs and flows.
  18. heh, just realized 3/5 of the Royals rotation are former... Padres.
  19. There's the Rosario I know and love.
  20. Does Arcia understand foul rules?
