    I’m usually skeptical of prospects and reports on prospects. However I’m surprised at the lack of enthusiasm in this article given that he’s 19 and in high A. We take some 22 year old college pitcher and stick him in A ball and everyone gets excited when they have a whiff of success. Catching is really hard so I’m more than willing to believe that given some time he will get better. A left handed power hitting catcher is worth taking a chance on and worth waiting for.

    Sometimes I think people assume bad teams are “young”. The Twins are not a young team.

    I think his defense in CF is overrated but they brought him back and he has had a good spring so if that is what they were looking for it’s happened. I believe he would get claimed so unless Zoll is different than Falvey he will likely make the club. Maybe it’s only for a couple months but their track record in situations like this is pretty clear. Want to be clear - this what I think will happen not necessarily what I would do

    I said most of another year. He’s hurt right now with no spring training under his belt meaning he won’t start playing actual games until May at the soonest. Then he needs to perform at AAA as his numbers there last year indicated he was adjusting to AAA. Assuming he performs and doesn’t get hurt that puts a promotion date around August 1st. And it’s okay, he’s still young and can fulfill his potential.

    That was a weird play. Kind of an underarm throw that put Lee in a vulnerable position. Should have been two and would have prevented one run.

    Lots of good info here. Will be fun to watch for changes going forward, particularly what role Clemens gets.

    This is not a credible article. He needs most of another year in AAA. This is how the hype train gets going.

    There are some (few) players who can play multiple positions reasonably well. The Twins mistake is thinking that every player can do it.

    Each of these players is in a different boat so comparing them in the same way doesn’t make sense. Larnach is hardly a prospect and is what he is - a borderline player. SWR has already made it - he was projected to be 4/5 starter and has done that the last two years. Even Wallner is kind of a finished product he’s just not the product we were hoping for. Lewis, Lee and Martin are really the ones this premise applies to.

    Seems like a pretty decent number of players coming through. We do need Lewis to become the player drafted 1-1 should be.

    I hope Houston is a great SS for the Twins. However he is a college guy that just hit a buck fifty in A ball. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here.

    Abel with another good outing - no walks. Maybe he figured out something with his command. I see Lee had a triple? Did two outfielders collide and knock each other unconscious?

    I doubt they go with four lefties. If they like Chafin, Fundy will go down.

    I hope Lee gets 600 at bats so we can find out if he is going to hit. If he doesn’t improve quite a bit we won’t have to worry about where he will play. He doesn’t really comfortable at 2nd but looks decent at 3rd. If Royce figures it out then I would trade Lee. He is not a SS on a good team.

    This is the only article I’ve read suggesting GG is anything but a subpar fielder. Good arm but slow and bad instincts. He had a great year with the bat but that is what will determine how far he goes.

    Em Rod is worrisome. The guy swings and misses a ton. Yesterday was rough, in addition to the ks there was a looper hit to CF where he didn’t cover 20 yards and made a bad diving attempt on a ball that Buck would have caught standing up. That did not look like someone who could play CF in the bigs.

    Arcia has had a strong game.

    I’ve watched parts of three games and the catchers haven’t been wrong yet. Brian O Nora had about a dozen challenges against every one was upheld. I really hope the catchers go back to a traditional crouch. Better for throwing and blocking.

    How do people feel about the WBC? I just don’t care about it and there is no good time to play it. Is it meaningful to others out there?

    Larnach does not have sufficient trade value to fetch a mlb level pitcher. The best you are going to get for him is a lottery ticket.
