    I don't get the Castro love. He's thoroughly mediocre and Giminez is worse. The slight improvement in the Twins pitching had NOTHING to do with them.

    I get that but then don't do it. If I was Mollie I wouldn't be happy at all that one of Sano's at bats came against a stunt. Who cares? Especially fans of the other team.

    Well IMO their major free agent signing (Jason Castro) is not good. Their catching sucks and they really didn't do anything else. The improvement this year is just talented young players adjusting to MLB play.

    I don't dig all the bunting but it should be noted that Mollie took the bunt off after it was 1-1.

    I agree. I will be satisfied if they get to the game. Considering 80% of the board was predicting 75 or fewer wins this is a great season.

    Plus if I recall correctly he started his career very slowly with the bat but ended up being a decent hitter in his prime. I can't recall if the slow start withe stick is why San Diego traded him?

    I believe the 20% max cut he is referring to applies to arbitration only. Joe can sign any free agent contract he likes.

    I would be curious to know if the mechanical changes he made in the spring are still being used. He looks the same to me although he has been healthy all year. Seems like he is just throwing more strikes.

    My prediction (worth nothing) is that Busenicz becomes the most valuable piece in the Nolasco trade for either team.

    Niko might be an interesting utility guy in this age of 3 man benches. He legitimately plays all over the diamond and seems to be able to swing the bat decently.

    I agree that catching is not the difference. Castro has been OK defensively and Susuki like with the bat. Giminez is awful and should be done.

    No thanks. Burdi has upside and I like that better than 2months of an expensive blah starter.

    How do you trade Santana and have a respectable rotation next year? Another year of the core 4 cost controlled years down the drain. If you are trading Santana for prospects then you kicking this can down the road a couple more years. Might as well see what you can get for the core 4 then.

    Gordon has to be on the table. First of all there is increasing concern about him staying at short (see Beradinos recent article). If he can't stick at ss he loses substantial value. Mostly they need to get some real pitchers in here during the core 4s cost controlled years. How will they do that without trading?

    Even without the leg kick he still is kind of long as his hands are held high and it seems to take an extra split second to get to the zone. He's also off balance a lot-hes kind of a diver which doesn't help. Anyway glad for the improvement.

    I don't believe Berrios's problem was tipping his pitches. That was a theory that was never substantiated. He's improved his command compared to last year.

    Sounds like Molitor is not happy. I wonder if this is a sign of bigger changes to come.
