    You are correct, other teams now know his batting style, but his fielding is still a Keyston Cops routine. It does not matter if he makes the play, eventually , the extra time it takes him to throw to first, is all some batters need to beat the throw. His throws to first need a large First Baseman to stop them from being a wild throw. In the Post-Season, i hope he is a DH, or replaced during the game when fielding skill counts.

    If his fielding can equal his current hitting, he is a good one. Next year will determine if he is up to the level some think he is at.

    To paraphrase Garret Morris: Basaball been bery, bery good to him, some times. Not every one is Ted Williams, or even close.

    It was just a few gaves back where Lewis stopped and went down on his knees, then fell flat on his face trying to get back to first and was tagged on the helmet by a kindly First Baseman. It happens, although this year it seems to be more common, league wide.

    Gallos strike outs are moronic, I agree, some one should tell him if he does not stop swing at ghosts his days are numbered; this is the Twins, NOT other teams. For every Elly De La Cruz there are four dozen Hicks and Rookers; bringing an untested rookie up and hoping for the best is a fools folly. Of course Matin could be another Jake Cave ; he came up the first year and was absolutely great, then he burnt out. That was not a smart move.

    It has every thing with the conversation, there is ZERO reason to bring him here, end of story. The Twins are not an extended AAA team, they are a team trying to get into the World Series.

    The infatuation with the AAA rookies, or some in AA is incredible , just incredible. Next spring, they get their chances;

    So what? It is AAA pitching not major league pitching, bring him up and let him be made a joke by Major League pitchers? Jeffers and Wallner went 0-5 in the last game, and they have experience.

    You are nit-picking It seems the young guys are also turning into versions of Joey Gallo, Lewis home run was great, just like Joey's dingers are, the other 5 at bats were outs were also just like Joey. AT that Solano was 2-4, Polanco 2-6, Kepler 2-2 with Jeffers 0-5, Wallner 0-5 so dissing the vets carries no weight.

    Singles becoming doubles, doubles becoming triples, and triples becoming inside the park home runs, makes his position a defense first position.

    Only Buxton was a better fielder , when he was on the field, than Kepler since 2019, if you ignore Simmons. (Simmons is the best fielding Short Stop the Twins ever had) Those two gave/give the Twins a superior outfield,; Taylor out there now still gives the Twins top outfield players. Left field -- ?

    No system is perfect, but you made good points, at that, look at the Yankee wheeler dealers.

    Oddly Earl Battey, a very good defender, had his worst two years in errors, the two years he stopped, best in league percentage, base stealers.

    Thinking of how many games Buxton can or ever will play at more than DH, I wondered who was the last Twin to play a full 162 games.     Not likely, no place for Stevenson, and despite all the brouhaha for Martin, wishful thinking. Unless the Twins have anothe Sept. collapse, then, horses are out of the barn.

    Pagan has been no worse than most of the bullpen; using him as a scape goat no longer makes sense.

    As league level increases, so does performance level of pitching. That is one way for a player to face improved pitching.

    Did AAA teams, so connected to the Twins, ever play heads-up games against each other in the past? It would be fascinating to see the Twins go against the Saints, if, Gardenhire could get Baldelli to put Julien and Lewis with the Saints for that game and see how badly the Saints beat the Twins.😁 Next spring, I would not be surprised to see Stevenson and Garlic with the Twins. I would bet Gordon, Larnach and Celestino's ship for days with the Twins has probably sailed.

    I looked at Martin's Minor League stats and nothing there says he is ready for the Majors; next year is a different story but playing games with him this year shows the managers are running a chinese fire drill.

    They were shown to be beyond AAA, simple as that.
