  1. Oh I'm not giving up on him or suggesting he's collapsed or is a bust, but this isn't just crazy fan expectations either. I think it's fair to say his performance hasn't matched hopes or expectations so far.
  2. Ok, maybe I'm wrong....but hasn't he both slid down the overall MLB-wide rankings and our BA team rankings?
  3. I actually agree with you on this, I wanted to see him on the debate stage ruffling feathers. Even stupid honesty is better at this point than phony lying. But, seriously, how did his campaign manager not force his ass back out there to apologize immediately much less allow him to double down on it all weekend? Holy crap.
  4. Right, nothing about the deal made sense at the time and it only became more baffling with each subsequent move.
  5. So yeah, Season 2 is just everything bad about Season 1 on steroids.
  6. In other news, Trump may not even make it to the actual debates.
  7. Stewarts slide down nearly every national ranking seems to differ from this portrayal.
  8. Great point and look no further than those hilarious Houston offers leaked a few years ago to see it in action.
  9. Plouffe for sure is an offseason move. I'd consider Hicks for Norris now.
  10. I still think Hicks for Norris is the beginning framework of a deal. I also think Plouffe should be shopped. I get the hesitation, but with his age and approaching FA decision, I think the possibility of swapping him for a SS or C is prudent.
  11. In my experience, a twisted ankle takes about a day to swell and hurt. At least, whenever I've turned one I've always felt the lag in pain/immobility took more time than other injuries. Plus, as a DH, he probably wasn't noticing it as much sitting around between at-bats.
  12. I agree it was a lot of blind devotion to Beane that helped justify the move. The logic on Lawrie not being as much of a downgrade was always the most insane and completely bizarre part. There is nothing about Lawrie but former hype for anyone to think that.
  13. Right, but even regardless of the Butler signing, this trade always had poor value. Donaldson for this motley bunch is going to go down as a heist for Toronto and it was forseeable at the time if the pro-Beane blinders go off.
  14. Last night put on full display that our catching and bullpen situations are well past "disaster" status.
  15. Fien does look to be heading down the Burton path. We have been very good at turning scrap heap pickups into effective relievers. But then we hang on to them way too damn long.
  16. Can we both consider ourselves winners since Plouffe has gone on to get even better too? This trade though, and most of the offseason Beane moves, have been an utter disaster.
  17. I agree. The bullpen construction doesn't make any sense to me. The May decision makes no sense to me. It's going to keep hurting this team if they don't act quickly.
  18. I don't feel the need to put anyone in as a defensive replacement in our current outfield. . Pinch running can be handled by Nunez/Escobar/Santana. I'd rather have his bat up here to mix in from time to time, probably 3 or 4 times a week.
  19. It's not an excuse, I think they don't want to use May in anything but a mop-up role until they can get him back in the rotation. I think that decision was largely above his pay grade as well. (And stupid, Pelfrey should be a full time reliever and setup man) Fien sucks, we all agree. This problem is on Ryan, not Molitor.
  20. Shane Robinson did that? When?
  21. I'm not defending it. It's my biggest beef right now. May is one of the team's best arms and they've all but banished him into some weird limbo that I can't understand for the life of me.
  22. There is only so much of this you can do. Face it - it doesn't matter what Molitor does. When we get into a battle of bullpens - we're almost always going to lose.
  23. Using your logic we should only ever pitch Glen Perkins. That's just not how it works. It's not the manager's fault when you have only one functional bullpen arm.
  24. Don't worry, if Perkins was unavailable tomorrow and Fien blew the save....Dave would still blame Molitor.
  25. And when the middle of the order comes up? Perkins still?
