  1. I agree, though the source material is usually a better starting point. Everything so far has at least loose basis in the comic books so they don't have to reinvent the wheel as much as just finely hone what already exists into a show. I very much enjoy JJ so far, but it's a potential weakness of the series going forward relative to Daredevil.
  2. Pretty damn far right. Both sides cheerlead their own for not working together. That's one of the things Republicans seem to like about Gomer and hate about McConnell....right?
  3. One catch with the other characters is you're talking about Marvel's C list here. Daredevil may be the only B lister of the group, so he has more stories to tell and more source material to pull from. As good as Jessica Jones is (I'm only partially in, but it's pretty damn good), I'm not sure they'll have a second solo season for her. Same goes for Iron Fist and Luke Cage. But I could see the Defenders being an ongoing thing with all of them while Daredevil continues to appear there and in his own solo series. But I guess we'll see. Marvel continues to spin straw into gold. These characters are at best C listers in the marvel universe and they're creating some wonderful stuff with them. (Guardians weren't even D listers and that is one of their best movies)
  4. Ashbury pretty much covered it all, but know that it is possible they have another unsustainable/lucky month next year. No one is asking them to apologize for it, but the performance on the field resulted in a flukey amount of wins. It's unlikely to happen again so it's reasonable to assume those wins aren't reliable to plan on carrying forward. After that it's all about how far out on the limb you want to go with the young guys and that is an incredibly erratic thing to predict.
  5. Perhaps there is less willingness because of how far right the right has moved. Hard not to see that truth when you consider the stances of Kasich. I think that move has forced the left to dig into their trenches and here we are...a totally intractable government.
  6. I'm not excluding it, I'm just adjusting that month's success down 4 games or so to reflect a ridiculous run of luck.
  7. Houston should be worried about a win regression for the same reason. We piled up a lot of wins in May that if you simulated that month out a 100 times would should what a lucky streak it was. They don't have to apologize for it, they won those games, but if we're going to prognosticate on the future we need to take those sorts of things into account. It wasn't just a win streak, it was a month of wins that were highly unlikely to yield the results they did.
  8. Romney would instantly have my vote if he was in this.
  9. He's not a lifelong Democrat, he seems to be a life-long independent who flips back and forth between the parties. Or gives money to whomever will take it and give him influence. You have no basis for saying he is a Democrat "most of the time", except for one vote. Given that he's 69, as you point out, he's probably voted a lot. Meaning one vote is not likely to constitute "most of the time". I would hope you can understand this, but given the depths of delusion you have on this subject I'm a bit worried I have to lay it out more thoroughly. As Stringer points out, all the facts say your opinion is bunk. You should either get a new opinion or accept that yours is completely fantasy. You don't like Trump. Good for you, that's a good thing. Just get off the damn ledge. Trump as a Republican is a symptom of what is cancerous about today's conservatism. That 30-40% of conservatives will line up behind him because of platitudes and anti-muslim talk should be a wake up call.
  10. To establish "most of the time".....wouldn't you need more data than one vote he made? I mean, that's just the easiest hole I can poke in your argument, there are plenty of others.
  11. You are fabricating what you think will be the results. Their actual stated opinions are highly similar, as the link showed. If you want to live in your own fabrication, that's fine, but it's not reality.
  12. No one is calling out Trump because no one wants to alienate the conservatives backing him right now and miss out on their votes. Cruz probably thinks himself the most likely to take those votes if Trump ever comes crashing down. You can't seriously believe they're avoiding him because his positions are obviously dumb. They are actively calling each other out (including Cruz and Rubio) for positions they think are anti-conservative. Which is exactly why they are scared to go after Trump, he has tapped into a huge conservative sect that they want for themselves. Plus, as Cruz himself says - he's likes him to leech publicity off of. As for agreeing on just one thing? Perhaps you should use that google thing I suggested....ah, hell, I did it for you.
  13. With Ted Cruz....yes.
  14. Now that I've watched Daredevil, thank you for the advice by some in the other thread. My wife and I devoured it and loved it. D'Onofrio embraced the Kingpin in a truly special way. A brilliant villain is so important and he was freaking brilliant. On to Jessica Jones now, really looking forward to starting it tonight. The comic book fan in me only wishes I could see the X-men characters in the marvel universe.
  15. Is my bar for evidence as ridiculous as yours for Trump as a Dem? Here, I'll exceed that bar: They both are heavy handed against illegal immigration and against amnesty. There is plenty more. Just google candidate positions and match up Cruz and Trump. Other than outwardly saying "I won't let Muslims in", Cruz is nearly identical. He prefers Shock and Awe 2, but it's basically the same opinion too. I know you and Gomer are tight, but he's pretty much lock step with Trump. Hell, they shook hands and talked nicely about each other just recently. Seems like an odd move for a Democrat....
  16. The Twins themselves have stated they don't operate this way. So you can say all you want on a message board that they should, but they don't.
  17. Young team, I see some steps back and forward leading to a roughly similar team. So assuming they don't have one insanely lucky month I think they finish with 78-80 wins at this point.
  18. The ones he is stating at rallies and on debate stages. You know, the ones that are pretty much the same as Cruz.
  19. So perhaps we might learn from that mistake about how quickly we timeline things that are not so certain.
  20. Well at least you've made the positive step of associating these two guys, their opinions are pretty damn aligned.
  21. Have you stopped to consider why no one is calling him on it? Perhaps you should?
  22. The point is that all this optimism people have over Hicks is for the equivalent of Jason Repko with a different name. That's who he has been. If you were truly basing this on what he's done and not his prospect hype, you'd have an incredibly weak case. Give me the guy that drives the ball that needs to work on pitch recognition over the guy that rarely hits the ball with any authority every day of the week.
  23. Most of the stage, including your boy Gomer, are singing the same tune. Gomer wants to increase the military spending, initiate Shock and Awe 2, cut down illegal immigration (another huge spending venture), and has basically built his campaign on "I'll keep you safe" Trumps rhetoric would look insane next to the Democrat field. It blends in, with some differences, to the Republican field. You're blaming Trump when the real culprit is what conservatism has become - bitter and stupid. And it's further evidenced by the kinds of morons the party is electing into all levels of government.
  24. Just by running himself into walls he may cut his career short. His fielding is really overrated and I love his career comps on Baseball reference - not a damn one of them was a significant player. For fun, two of his comps are Clete Thomas and Jason Repko. Yeah, that Repko.
  25. Whew....well thank goodness OBP settles it all. Hicks had about 90 PAs where he was pretty damn good. The other 600 he was basically a bat on a shoulder that people were walking. Rosario drove the ball. Yeah, he needs to be more patient, but that wart compared to the host of warts Hicks has seems rather insignificant.
