  1. Well, with two swift daggers they did eliminate hundreds of filler pages that were impossible to adapt to TV. So I'd call that efficient.
  2. Agreed, I thought they may bleed it out another week but now we get to see how he returned. (In terms of personality, etc.) Euron is set up now as a threat from the Iron Islands and we have Roose, the Carstarks, Manderleys, and Umbers setting up as a northern alliance vs. John, Sansa, Brienne, the Wildlings, and the rest of the North. I wonder if we'll get to see the Manderleys flip sides or the fall out with the Freys? Really solid second episode.
  3. Damn, a lot happened in that one! And the Tower of Joy is next week...that's when things get really interesting.
  4. Anyone know how to check to see how a guy is being pitched? I'm thinking he's getting pitched up in the zone more this year but wouldn't know how to look that up.
  5. Well presented point. Clearly argued. Not a small sample. My god are you going to get strawmanned......good luck to you sir. I hope you fare better than the rest of us did.
  6. I'd be fine with those changes ben, I'm not opposed to players being allowed to take something for recovery under a doctor's supervision....but it is a slippery slope if the rules aren't well defined. Part of the issue here is the PED policy is a sledgehammer rather than a scalpel, but I imagine that's a result of CBA negotiations. It may be hard to get a nuanced policy, but maybe some of these suspensions will inspire both sides to take it more seriously.
  7. Ryan doesn't just call people up randomly with no plan, you're going to have to try harder if you want to exclude him from blame.
  8. I'm sure among elite athletes that's possible, but you're only going to see that increase if it becomes an expected component of professional play.
  9. I hear 110% of us wanted Hughes banished to Canada. Bogus statistics to make a point are fun!
  10. I like this....would've preferred we realized this before we sent May to the pen. I hope they learn this freaking lesson for good this year. So many classic Twins moves have backfired I hope we'll take some lessons from it. Tired of defaulting on low ceiling veterans and moving kids around the defense to accommodate vets. Learn the lesson this time Ryan. Please. So good news, hope he pitches the hell out of it the rest of the year.
  11. Comparing steroid use in sports to alcohol is a really bad argument. Banned substances to improve performance are not recreational activities. We're talking about illegal, potentially harmful drugs that have a direct impact on performance. What is more relevant is the concept of fraud as brought up earlier. We have anti-fraud laws to prevent a trickle down of falsity that could do major economic and social damage. Performance enhancers, as largely illegal, still trickle down. You open the doors and I guarantee you that a scary number of 15 year olds will be juicing much less 22year olds.
  12. If only there was a collective period of time in which players were free to be signed or added. If only such a thing existed we might have been able to fix our depth issues. Alas, it appears such a thing does not exist. Or so I'm lead to believe.....
  13. The dude has legit power. The ball just explodes off his bat.
  14. Yeah, I like what Dozier did the night before - drop his butt down in the lineup and make him earn his way back up. Right now, even while being mildly more productive of late, is still not a guy that should be hitting second.
  15. The only viable argument for moving him to RF was a total inability to play third. It's a small sample, but he sure as hell doesn't look lost there. He looks lost in RF - let's correct that silly mistake that never should have happened and keep the kid at third.
  16. Was fun to see him last night and the game of adjustments and learning begins. I hope we get to see it the rest of the year.
  17. Bah...the bullpen is fine. Way too fine to drop some dollars on helping it. You guys must've missed that memo.
  18. I know after I get demolished in 5 primaries the first thing I do is arrogantly walk out my VP pick. Makes total sense.
  19. I always expected his running mate to be a heavily armed coal worker wearing a confederate flag with a healthy dose of hypocritical religious convictions.
  20. Since literally no one said that - who are you talking to and why are you talking to them in this thread? The outlook of concern in this thread was based on 300+ PAs. But I sure hope last night was a sign of things to come, if Dozier can start using the whole field we might see an end to his streaky play and a better, more consistent player.
  21. What we should start betting on is which debate Trump says "Lewinsky".
  22. For the love of all that's holy - no one did that! Shall I surround that statement in emojis or different color letters? Why is that concept so hard to understand? Let me try: No one said that at any point in the :shoot: conversation. If Brian Dozier wants to suddenly start hitting to all fields - that will sure as hell reduce my worries about him. It was good to see last night.
  23. I don't think we'd have to trade the pick and Lavine necessarily, but if we added Butler to Lavine and Wiggins that would create some interesting pairings and options.
  24. Trump and Clinton dominated last night, short of someone trying to steal this away it's pretty much sewn up.
  25. A little from column A and a little from column B. The decisions they've made on this subject are just stupid and indefensible. If it's the case that you are comfortable with Sano playing third than Plouffe should have been the one to move all along.
