  1. Well, all the reports are that we pulled the rug out from under Miami after they put Richardson in the deal. I don't know what this ultimately looks like, but it's sad that we're having to hold out for Josh Richardson. I want Levine back.
  2. What do people think is "buy low" on Allen exactly?
  3. Certainly, but I think others took your thinking farther in this thread to places far less justified.
  4. I was out until 3am with my future wife in my mid 20s too. Didn't make me as awful a person as some of you jumped to in this thread. Other things might make me awful, but not that in and of itself.
  5. They gave the line a lot of help but O'Neill looked good when I paid attention to him.
  6. Well there you have it: just a bad look. Glad to see things were resolved responsibly and fairly.
  7. Those are not typically the kind of deals you see at the deadline. Those tend to be off-season deals just like the Joe Nathan one.
  8. Step 1 would be to get into Houston's position next July then.
  9. I imagine Kimbrel's price tag is going to be shockingly high. I'd go down to the next level and offer Britton a contract and try to get him while the sharks are circling the bigger fish. Of the payroll room we have, I'd rather spend the bulk of it on the offense than the bullpen. (And now I'm laughing at my own post that we'll spend anywhere close to what any of us are imagining)
  10. Perhaps, I just tire of the argument that impugns integrity when the real disagreement is ideology. There was a time when people could have stark differences in ideology without immediately thinking the other person is an evil snake bent on destroying the world.
  11. Roberts: Partisan Hack is a narrative born out of ultra partisanship. A guy both sides see as a traitor is already in a good spot IMO.
  12. Pony up for Britton, let Reed/May/Hildy/Rogers be the setup guys.
  13. Right. Best case scenario this is a bad look. Worst case.....well, given what has been said so far, that could get really bad. Probably best to wait it out before we declare anything regarding this incident.
  14. It's a good win. You beat the Super Bowl champs, on the road, in a tough place to play. Most of us thought this game would be a loss and the team would be sitting at 3-2 or 2-3 at this point. So things are ok for this team. But they have to go out and stomp AZ next week. Losing to Buffalo may be something we look back at as a playoff seeding blow to our chances. Can't have another one happen next week against a bad football team.
  15. Yes - it swings both ways. They both have been given opportunity - now that loyalty needs to start paying dividends. Either they can be productive big leaguers or we have to move on. That's the point of this, please don't build any strawmen out of what people are saying.
  16. This was a really good half of football by the Vikings. Refreshing.
  17. Theories on what we have to do to Blair Walsh to break the curse? Or is it Gary Anderson?
  18. Elflein's mobility is on display this drive. Might help the run game a lot.
  19. Well, I'll await more information I guess. Not a promising start to an offseason.
  20. No one is hating on them. No one is suggesting we outright "ditch" them, but the team should be ready to deal with the possibility that 2019 looks like 2018. If it does, these two are no longer cornerstones. Or at least can't be counted on in that fashion.
  21. I'd rather gouge my eyes out. I think this is winnable, at this point I just want to see the defense look competent again.
  22. If it is a priority, I know who to blame for that too.
  23. The problem is the lense. We always view through a narrow one because extrapolating manager trends is a far more difficult thing to do. It's hard to divorce talent from decision making. Hard to know what is driving things behind the scenes. My opinion is the Gardy/Showalter pops have more to do with personality change. Like how an office picks up the slack cuz new management has arrived and you want to make a good first impression.
  24. I agree Brock, but the Republicans have played the "Woe is Us! The Left has to be stopped!" card for victories far bigger than this. Hell, they're still effectively doing it with Trump's win.
  25. Tucker and Gordon would not net them a cancer and get them playable help this year. I want nothing to do with Whiteside, but they're going to have to do something. The longer this drags on the more of a toll it takes. You'll lose every trade you make, but at least the organization and the core of the team can move on. Until a trade happens, you have a cloud hanging over you and a gaping hole on your roster.
