  1. We should rename this a video game thread. Cuz this Spiderman game is ridiculous. All that I loved about the Arkham series and more.
  2. I'd be shocked if the OL didn't have a change at LG. Donald is a freak, but Compton's issues have predated that thrashing.
  3. No disagreement, but every delay creates more doubt IMO.
  4. All of this is why upthread I was shouting to shop Butler. The Western Conference is a mess and nothing pointed towards this group of players being able to gel into a winner. To fight this trade demand tooth and nail shows that Thibs is willing to be delusional and harmful to the team for selfish reasons. The second, as an owner, that reports came out on Monday that he was trying to woo Jimmy back - I'd have fired his ass on the spot.
  5. Murkowski has joined him, so that swings things at least temporarily. There may yet be hope.
  6. Yup, time to fire Thibs. Has been for awhile, but it's officially time to do it.
  7. I worry about looking for a silver lining in November. I mean, I'm hopeful too and I've added at least three friends/family that were non-voters to the rolls to vote against Republicans, but I'm wary of counting on a blue turnout. I don't think this will galvanize people in six weeks. By then we'll be 8 whackos stories deeper anyway....
  8. In this Republican Age it appears best to just resign ourselves to the assumption that whatever the most stupid, incomprehensible option available....is the one to bet they'll choose.
  9. In general, LBs should never be covering WRs. Barr or anyone.
  10. This looked like a loss pre-season to travel to the West Coast on a short week, so the loss itself isn't a problem IMO. How they lost it, with the defense looking this bad....that's a problem.
  11. Looks like they gave him that time back. Compton is so awful. If Elflein can play guard, it's time to try that. Put Jones back in and get him out.
  12. Well, that especially rings true tonight. Rather than having to keep Barr in there you could have an actual DB that is physical enough to play the run. It seems like this would be the situation you'd see him, if ever. So, yes, I'm also baffled.
  13. I can't laugh it off. I'm not nearly there yet, but I also can't laugh it off.
  14. I don't disagree. But there is so much talent on that side of the ball, it should be better. I have to think this is a schematic/coaching issue.
  15. This team shouldn't be losing when the offense is putting up 28 points. Zimmer better use this mini-bye week to truly get things fixed.
  16. Don't worry folks...Thibs is asking for Ben Simmons. He's got this.
  17. If eyes had lasers, Sasse just zapped the hell out of Feinstein.
  18. Baseball has an entertainment problem in general and the rise of the "outcomes" model is not to blame IMO. It is, however, making the issue more alarming like gas on a fire. Baseball is going to have to make some radical changes in the next decade. For the health of the sport, I hope they choose to act much faster than that or it may be too late. Starting with the ball and the mandating the DH in both leagues.
  19. Someone gave some poor coaching on this. Not that I'm complaining.
  20. Ford coming forward certainly made this situation more significant, so I don't think you're wrong to point out the value of coming forward. It's also, understandably, difficult.
  21. I think this conversation should be one people remember in criticizing a manager. We have two sides on the Stewart decision making rational arguments about a hypothetical situation. It's a tough spot to be in to consistently predict which hypothetical is the one to go with. I tend to side with Chief's perspective on the macro level, but that doesn't stop people from complaining on the micro. Maybe it should temper it a bit though.
  22. I'm glad what Avenatti brought forward was more than bluster. This is all surreal.
  23. More context here. I know we can't rule out CTE, but this does seem to be a cause/challenge known to Griffen.
  24. They had to send him away on Saturday and banned him from the facility. Suddenly that loss on Sunday has a lot more context. I know there will be those that say there are no excuses, but these are human beings and this sounds like it was a major issue within the walls of the Vikings. I hope the best for Everson and his family.
  25. I know this was awhile ago, but wasn't the reason Griffen slid to the 4th round because of character concerns? His entire Vikings tenure seems to have been positive, but I seem to recall that being the case. It could be, as you say Nick, that something was a catalyst to bring up some long buried issues.
