  1. I never said anything about positions. I specifically referred to plate appearances.
  2. True, the fit would be more difficult but they need the hitters actually hitting.
  3. If he doesn't use them wisely Miranda will steal some of them.
  4. That works! Star given. Making it that difficult should be taken as a sign that that star was well earned.
  5. I haven't looked at a single piece of information to support this theory but I feel like Lugo is the AL Ranger Suarez. Best couple months of their baseball lives. Good pitchers but not Bob Gibson. Regression incoming, starting today. Ranger got his first owie over the weekend. Lugo is due-go.
  6. Jake Cave was always the king of holy crap that went a long ways. He would hit a ball and I'd think "oh that has a chance to get out" and it would be 453ft or something. When he hit a ball it stayed hit. This is a good example of where Aaron has to get out of his own way. He hasn't quite realized that he is in a position to project his own neurosis on the fanbase. Nobody cares the Yankees got a pitcher from the Twins that actually has had a few good games in the MLBs. Except Aaron and a few other MSP sports scribes that is. Let your fanbase grow up and join the big boys. The big boy towns aren't worried the least bit about who got away, just cause that one time Big Papi. It's perfectly encapsulated in this tweet. Nobody knows Gil was a Twin without Aaron dredging it up and now we get an article. Just let it go, man. Like in what circumstances would I care?
  7. Coming back to this due to an article I really wanted to give a single star. I don't have the option on articles but I do on forum topics? I don't know why it would only be on one or the other but if I had to pick one it would certainly be the other way around. These articles need rating far more than random forum posts. 8. It's not perfect or perfect looking but it's light years better than early last year.
  9. As someone with a chance to make an impact he has to be up there. Raya is not close. Erod is only slightly closer in that he had to be added to the 40. Table those for next year. Micheal Helman probably has a better chance at an impact than those two.
  10. Never mind the Gallo comp, Gallo has always been a good glove but I'm wondering if this is still true for Julien. He's legitimately made himself a decent defender in a matter of months. That's impressive in it's own right and one of the reasons I'm willing to be patient with him. He learns so much so quickly, including the english language, I'm wondering if he spent too much time on defense over the offseason. Whats the chances he's spend too much time working on the glove and is behind on the adjustments the league made to him? A AAA reset might be in order but he's not on the clock by any means.
  11. Does he pass through waivers then? A stash at AAA would not be the worst outcome. My guess is that he would get claimed and in that case, cash considerations has a very high WAR.
  12. I think this is they right way of thinking about this. He has value to some and if the Twins have to take 1-2m salary to get a A level something back it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. He's covered by Castro and while Martin hasn't looked great he has upside and options. I'm completely disappointed by Martin in the outfield but similarly with Margot as well. The options are the key here, and will be very important soon. Tampa might be the place, he's an old friend and they aren't exactly tearing it up in the outfield. The familiarity might be enough. He's here as a placeholder for the kids, if the kids are better than him its time to go. Speaking of old friends, he was part of an old trade for Emilio Pagan as well. Huh.
  13. For what? He's at the Castro/Martin level right now. Theoretically sweet but tough to watch in practice. I've watched him live several times now and efficient is the last word I would use to describe his efforts. He may get there as he's raw, but it ain't his glove on the prospects list.
  14. That you had to go back to the 80s should tell you something. The only possible reason he might come up is that he's on the 40 man and they didn't have another move. He would not have been on the 40 except for the rule 5 protection. He'll get torn apart in the bigs but AAA in September is likely. Let Jackson Holliday be a lesson. Emma is a great prospect but too fast won't help.
  15. I've done it. Also have made the standard strike call on a third strike. Confuses everyone.
  16. Shhh, the b-ball game not to be mentioned.
  17. Looked like a late stop sign but Vazquez of all people should be ready for the late stop.
  18. Wtf. It would take everything Buxton had to score there.
  19. I remember how unimpressive they were when they played the Twins last August and September.
  20. They are playing tonight. Between us.
  21. Looks like it, not getting shelled is the trick.
