  1. I get that. My main question would be what is his fault vs the FO fault. Player type is not my favorite either but hes not the one putting him in these spots. He certainly didn't change after he got the contract.
  2. I blinked, then checked to see if my stream was behind. lol
  3. Human nature is still human nature.
  4. It takes away all the questions about him blocking Wallner et al. not addressing RH outfielder in the offseason etc. I think its much easier for some to hate him because he was brought in as an luxury extra rather than a guy the plugs a hole but has issues. Had he been a high risk, high upside RH hitter that can play decent defense all over we would love him in spite of his failings.
  5. But dangit, I really want to like him. Were he right handed would it help? I've been wondering, had Gallo been the same guy, same contract, same out come with the only difference being a RH hitter would we feel different? I think it changes several discussions, although the performance still sucks.
  6. It was nice to see him finish strong though the middle of the order.
  7. The rule as written is fine, it just needs enforced a little more. Batters have to get the benefit of the doubt in the high 90's+ but there are several times I'd have called for the batter to stay here.
  8. Sheesh, that was a taser.
  9. I was assuming you were right when i replied🤣. What is it now?
  10. Luptow/Ludlow/Ludpow/Lulzwow maybe we can workshop it on a quiet Friday night.
  11. I mean, to make room for Luptow, maybe. It's not going to change my 0 for the season though so I can battle through and maintain performance.
  12. Friday night chat. I rolled my ankle at the golf course so I'm late to the game thread. Can't hardly walk so don't ask. Was not a golf injury. Walking to the car after and they have a pavement crack grown full of weeds. F me. Also not going to tell the trainer. Will work through it on my own.
  13. I didn't know you were available to blame but now that I know... Everything make much more sense. 😂 Good topic, I voted coaching and lean towards the hitting room. The pitching has been pretty good by and large, maybe even over performing but the hitting has been the opposite. Everyone is so quick to blame the player, as if coaching doesn't matter but I'm here to tell you bad coaching is far more effective than good coaching. Too many hitters have similar issues. One central problem is more likely than 8 separate hitters randomly sucking.
  14. Nijght and day better than last year. Correa supposedly has PF is a vote for not against. Injury still happens. I'm not making some wierd case that all of a sudden no one gets hurt. The point is that when this front office addresses something we see results. What's the chances we were going to aquire something in a trade and the trainer nixed it? I haven't heard that and we wouldn't but it would have been nice last year.
  15. To be fair, I posted that before the Ryan news. That's a bit of a demerit, although it seems mostly on Ryan I want my trainer to sniff that stuff out. Days lost is pacing significantly down from last year. It's probably less of a noticeable issue because we haven't had to dip into the "who dat" level of depth to back fill. That depth is also a good mark for the front office. The training staff isn't perfect but from outside information it changed from a big issue to a normal or non issue. Don't forget the part where the former training staff presumably signed off on bringing in some broken arms too. I think that may be a larger part of their downfall than the normal injuries. My larger point is that the FO addressed it aggressively with a known quantity after trying their own way with a less proven talent. Not unlike what I expect with the hitting room this off season.
  16. Can confirm the plate guy did not want slippery 103 coming at him.
  17. He seemed to unlock it over the course of the year at Wichita. From my remembery I had thought he got off to a slow start for a couple months and came on lately. When I looked at the splits he was actually pretty good all year and turned it up a notch in July. It will be interesting to see him adjust in AAA. He seems to just keep turning it up with the competition.
  18. Agreed, now that I'm on here I wouldn't let it go but the initial decision was to make the site usable for me.
  19. Honestly it was the only reason I got it. The ad load was insane. I'm happy to support the site but it wasn't even a consideration, the money was already spent when I saw no ads,
  20. I don't know that they actually have an accurate measurement for ST Louie heat. 64 can be horrible.
  21. I just read though it as well and there is only one mention of a prospect promotion incentive selection and it's in the competitive balance picks section. Just states the prospect promotion pick is before competitive balance. No wonder reports vary. Odd that there isn't at least a memo attachment to describe it.
  22. I would give them an overall vote of support along with a few very pointed demerits. My main concern is that they continue to get better and that they fix the things they choose to prioritize. Can’t build a rotation year after year, suddenly they adjusted strategy and here we are. Can’t sign premium free agents, did that. Training room was a liability last year, it’s a strength this year. Draft picks kinda iffy have been pretty good lately. They have invested a ton in analytics (maybe too much for my tastes) where the organization was barely on the board. The culture is universally reported as good. There are a lot of good things to look at. There are a few things that drive me nuts. I will be very disappointed if they aren’t a top 10 offense next year. I expect that to be a focus and have a good amount of confidence they can do it. The Kepler Gallo things have confused me but they were rightish on 2 of 3. I still think there is something else going on with the Gallo deal. I wish they would act more harshly sometimes but also being patient has paid off significantly. It’s all complicated but I have a hard time if someone is saying they aren’t a net positive and heading in the right direction.
  23. I had already considered all those facts. One guy having his best year ever is the outlier. If you give someone obsessed with data the wrong data it would also explain our situation. I’ve got an outlier too. I wonder how Gary Sanchez felt about the coaching last year? Sure was washed as a Twin, if I remember correctly.
