  1. We've had this discussion about the mystery of trolpo. It could have been a designated computer by someone clever enough. I miss trolpo the most. Snakes on a plane>>sharknado
  2. Well first I didn't really compare the two, rather used Ventura's governorship as an example of a failed term which has been overcome. Also, the election of both was unexpected and relied on an untraditional set of voters. While there are a few more similarities, I think it is simply anecdotal. If you have some thoughts on the contrary do share.
  3. Bark all you can do is control your actions. I just had a constrain with a friend in Texas i consider fairly intelligent. He is in the camp that doesn't believe the media, and feels they have a agenda. I really only think one news outlet had a specific agenda and can't be trusted. That made me think though, am I the one being duped? I don't think so because I branch out and dissect many different sources. Stay strong. The world is not over. Minnesota elected Jesse Ventura and it a while to come out of the hole he made, but the state pulled together and is stronger than ever.
  4. Whoa, she actually makes sense in that article. Is she backhanded criticizing that deal? Sure seems like it to me.
  5. Nice article. Trump being elected could ultimately help the Democratic party. Trump is going to destroy credibility to the republicans and provide a real chance to even the tides again. Too bad Pelosi maintained her position.
  6. So I know of a few people like to follow for intellectual insight, but wanted to start a topic to see what others enjoy reading. Not restricted to any topic, just curious what everyone is into.
  7. I was on the byto Facebook group! * Cries even harder
  8. He did get green to come back. Winfield is a dann good get, Smith and Brooks are top notch, the center from Texas is pretty solid. So it could be worse. I was hoping for a new coach, but that isn't always the best choice. See how next year plays out with a new qb. Kill really put him in a bad spot at the position. He isn't faultles. Overall this team was solid. Say what you want about the losses, but beating the teams you're supposed to beat is easier said than done. The big ten is the top power 5 conference this year, and might be for a while. If Claus is smart he'll find a way to start exploiting the collapse of programs in Texas Oregon Kansas California ect. They need to start pulling better talent to seriously compete going forward.
  9. Wait, you're all Facebook friends? * Cries inconsolably
  10. I can't wait for a new qb next year. Biggest reason to rip Tracy this year is sticking with leidner. Problem is pulling green or Croft out of red shirt. Once you do, you pretty much have to sit Mitch the rest if the year. That is a big decision to sit your leader and 5th year senior. Luckily, this team is young. The defense and offensive line has been solid. The running backs are a couple of the best in the country. I would be surprised if this team isn't better next year.
  11. This election has been so much fun! On a serious note, the gerrymandering in Wisconsin was ruled unconstitutional and will likely be sent to the supreme court. This will be a vital decision for the democrats. Undoing all the gerrymandering by the gop over the last 5+ years will take a lot of time. If this decision doesn't go their way.... it could get even worse.
  12. How do I donate to that fund? Do i get my money back if the investigation doesn't happen?
  13. Hypothetically, if Russia was able to meddle with the results **** will hit the fan. If the FBI is concerned about Clinton emails, they better be livid if Russia hacks us again.
  14. You found one! Should have came to mind right away for me. Santana is unique because he was on the mlb roster from the age of 22 on. So he really made his strides in the big leagues.
  15. I'd say elite talent is identified more often than it isn't. Most of the top pitchers around the league were highly regarded coming up. Some break through later; usually after an organizational change or adding a new pitch. Kershaw is an example of a guy always highly regarded while Jake arrieta could be an example of a guy developing late. Even arrieta was a top 100 prospect though. I would like to say an Ace has never developed without being identified in prospect lists.... but I'm sure there is an example somewhere.
  16. Just read a report Clinton is being urged to challenge election results. Apparently she did much worse in places that used electronic voting methods.....
  17. It's all Gina's fault. Seriously though, it's amazing how many people have no clue about global warming, and how much we still contribute to it. Take away ObamaCare, but leave the clean power plan. This rhetoric about global warming being false has to stop. I really believe the leaders rallying against it know Damn well what they're doing.
  18. It's not that cut and dry. There are numerous threads on here dissecting what classifies an Ace and where they come from. The higher up in the draft a team picks the better chance they have. A good number of international players sign young, like so many international players, that it is almost like a lottery ticket. Some teams are better at identifying that caliber talent than others. The twins, have been pretty bad at it. Even with Santana and liriano, the twins are very low on the list of teams with pitchers having high WAR seasons. I've complied the numbers in the past, and am on my phone so not going to do it right now.
  19. There is a reason Terry Ryan is not the gm any longer. The most troubling aspect is the lack of upside on the mound. Romero and Thorpe could change that with a strong 2017.
  20. I've always liked Plouffe. I'd rather the twins had kept him than Mauer, and it's not even close. He will find a good role with a team that can actually win games. Good luck to him, a guy like that makes his own luck though.
  21. And what would that look like? The American voters obviously didn't listen or agree with Romney about trump. He isn't joining forces, he would be accepting one of the most important jobs in the cabinet.
  22. Friends close and enemies closer.
  23. I don't think Romney would be a fraud. I actually like him in that position a lot more than Rudy. At least with Romney he won't be a complete disaster, or a compete embarrassment.
  24. She should stay in Congress. She can do a lot more for progressives there. I'm already smiling inside thinking about her tearing trump apart for the next 4 years. 538 has an article about this very subject. However, in the article the commentors claim the democrats have a lack of upcoming talent. I have to completely disagree after watching the dnc this summer.
  25. I agree with unions. The problem is when people only hear one side of the message, and not necessarily the truth at that, thinking gets pushed in that direction. Instead, paint it with the brush you want. If a message isn't provided it is impossible to be heard. I only used unions as an example. The same can be said about many hot button issues. Every one of them can be shown to benefit rural America, you just have to try. I'm interested to see if Pelosi is voted to lead the party again. Her time is up imo.
