Another thing. I brought up Campbell for a reason. It is reasonable to expect his team to improve next year, because he already has big wins. Wins matter, especially wins over ranked opponents. The season before Fleck Minnesota was 5-4 in the big ten, and had been having moderate success for some time.

Maybe he'll just decide to stay in Minnesota after the game. Vikings just decide they will keep him.

I really couldn't disagree more with everything you said. This is the big ten, not the Ivy League. I think it's great if Fleck is putting these kids into position to be successful after college. None of that wins games. You're making excuses for him, and it is not even asked for by Fleck or the gophers. This is still football, and that is how Fleck and this team should be evaluated. This part of their schedule is soft, and they need to win in order to earn respect.

I want to see a solid, dominating game. Get the running game going a bit, let theilen and diggs torch them up top, repeat effort from the defense.

It is only a moral victory if they can go out and play well the next few weeks. I have a hard time accepting a moral victory after they got stomped by Iowa/Maryland. Granted, maybe Iowa is better than expected. Still, a loss to Ohio's State is still a loss. I'd like to point out another young head coach, that has only a single more year coaching their team, Matt Campbell. Began only a year earlier than fleck at Iowa State. Last year, 2 top 5 wins, and just destroyed WV rated 6. He took over a program that was in worse shape than Minnesota, and plays second fiddle in the state they are in. My point is, results matter. Moral victories are fine, if the progress continues. Beat Wisconsin, and it will make everything better. The next 6 games are all winnable. At least come out 500, and I'll say the loss to Ohio State was a good moral victory.

I listened to a lot of the game. Having Winfield would have helped a lot. How did Annexstead look? For a true freshman to play decent against Ohio State is a pretty good sign going forward. I just hope he isn't automatically handed the keys for the next 3 years.

I've asked myself this question since November 2016. It is like a hydra, in that you cut off one head and another just as hateful takes its place. The comparisons to the rise of the Reich, and I'd argue, the rise of ISIS is similar to how the GOP keeps power. Manipulate the message or flat out lie, promote an extreme nationalist message that paints outsiders as criminals and the enemy, discredit or jail/kill critics, feed the greed machine that got you there. There are so many totems to topple. The disgusting behavior Trump shows is mirrored by those in the gop base. I think there will be a severe backlash against Trump in the next 2 election cycles. Hopefully that will help more states draw fair competitive districts, and end some of the extremism. Liberal ideas are popular. Push them, and don't be afraid of it. Yes, the right will kick and scream about changing, but it is only because they are afraid of change. Step up. That is why Bernie did well, and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez won, and how others will win after them.

I tend to believe if you eliminated the propaganda and lies, many of their beliefs would evaporate. Also, you'll never make everyone happy. I listened to fox business on the way home. I was surprised at the nob bobbing, even in that space. There was no objective analysis, just high fiving about tax cut and less regulation. There was more politics than business. On other networks, there was actual economic discussion, and theories about the recent 1000 point drop of the Dow.

Seriously. Sign Machado for 8 years 300. He will be worth it. Play ss until Lewis is ready (which might be after next year). Let Sano play 3b next year. Find a replacement level player to be a utility inf, and insurance for Sano. Then, upgrade the pitching staff. Help the bullpen, and upgrade the rotation if they price is right.

Sign Manny, move Jorge to 2nd and move Manny when Lewis is ready. Best infield in the league for 5+ years. -
I would be so willing to let the middle United States be their own country. Could Minnesota join Canada? I'd have to think, with some concessions to the constitution in Canada, they could add a significant portion of the northern states, and possibly the whole west coast besides Alaska (because Alaska would rather be their own country). I work in many red states, and the ignorance is purposeful. Some of my colleagues are dead set climate change isn't real, not even a little bit. That country would be worse than Israel... The better option is adding Puerto Rico. They would add more balance to the Senate and electoral college forcing the GOP back to the center. It would also likely shift policy to the left from were it is now, Which would be like the civil rights era in the 60's for some. There are still people that vote who were (are?) against that movement btw. Much easier and less messy than dividing the country. I think you'll feel better after the midterms Mike.

You're optimistic Brock. I'm not sure I share the same hope. I think they'll dodge roe v wade so they don't have to over turn it. I'm much more worried about big business, religious favoritism, and unprecedented political bias tainting these decisions in the near future. Isn't he the one that said gerrymandering is gobbledygook?

Much needed win here. Defense looked better, offense still clicking. Vikings earned this win in a tough place to win.
