  1. I recommend watching Matt Damon impersonate Kavanaugh on SNL. Killed it.
  2. At least there is more time. Trump still had the ability to pull the nomination. You never know who is in his ear. Ivanka or Melania could be advocating to choose someone else. A week longer allows a week for the angry memes, the pompous responses, and the people to call senators. Six weeks isn't very long. If he gets confirmed, I bet the swing is statistically relevant. Only the hard core right wing base is on board with this guy right now.
  3. I hope he gets confirmed... The GOP losses the Senate. They begin a criminal investigation, and end up corroborating Ford's testimony. Kavanaugh is charged with perjury and a sex crime. He is impeached. Trump is either forced to nominate a moderate, or his next selection gets voted down. Democrats destroy in 2020, and we finally get out from under a conservative judiciary.... I'm an optimist..
  4. I honestly don't get it. Why are they going out to die for this guy? It is so controversial at this point, his favorability rating is probably terrible, Gorsuch is also a partisan but didn't have near this level of resistance from the start... Not a single Democrat will vote for him, and even the most vulnerable wont be damaged one bit by it. This is just absurd. I listened to the reactions on a late drive home last night. Conservatives are saying his performance, and Lindsay Graham, saved his nomination. I think his performance showed why he shouldn't be confirmed, not because he's guilty, but because of who he is as a person. Lindsay Graham's performance shows just how rotten DC has become. He is right about Feinstein, but accusing the Democrats of the biggest sham is idiotic, considering his party only 2 years ago had a nominee they refused to even meet with for months. Nice grandstand Lindsey. Your donors should reward you graciously.
  5. More people are speaking out about his conduct. I'm sure Trump loves every bit of this.
  6. Why does Zimmer continue to let it happen? How many times do we need to see him get beat with an outstretched hand before is enough?
  7. I think the defense is the much bigger problem at this point. Offense still put up a lot of points because cousins, diggs, theilen are deadly. Defense can't stop anybody. They are getting beat on big plays, which is different than getting picked apart imo. They scheme isn't working, they need to disguise what they're doing better, or change what they're doing. Barr shouldn't cover a wr they rest of the year, and now that he has been so exposed, everyone is going to try to isolate him.
  8. Wow. Cousins again showing why he got paid. Diggs is having a hell of a game from what I've seen.
  9. That wasn't a clip? Last play I'll probably get to see. Another example of linebackers getting burned.
  10. I'm going to miss the rest of the game, so good luck everyone. Hopefully they figure out how to stop getting isolated with Barr, and clone Rhodes.
  11. game thread.
  12. I think the Bills and Josh Allen already told you. Side note, just landed, and see the Barr is continuing where he left off. It was a good run boys. Can't win with terrible lbs and oline. Try next year I guess.
  13. I listened top the past few hours of and on and wow.... He is a total douche. His combative attitude toward legitimate, easy questions by democrats makes me wish I met him in college. I really think the democrats need to bite back at him, and not allow him to stall and Bull**** the entire time. There is no doubt he engaged in parties when he was younger, and that he is practically lying about it.... without it being necessary. I was on the fence with him before about executive power, and conflict of interest. Now, I'm completely against him based on his testimony alone not to mention Ford's.
  14. Listening to Kavanaugh's opening statement was a window into how he views himself. I don't think his testimony is going to provide much sway due to how unlikable he is. Lindsay Graham has provided some detestable comments over the last 2 years. I think he's a good enough politician to appear moderate, while taking a hard right stance.
  15. She is lucky to have survived her primary. I doubt she does the next time. Democrats should strip some power from her.
  16. Hardest thing I'm sure she's ever done! Prior to 2018, this would sink any other supreme court nominee. Even an anonymous allegation would create great pause. Regardless, republicans will confirm an equally right wing partisan if he is withdrawn. I hope they confirm him Friday. I hope they continue to erode the support of college educated people, millennials, women, people of color, until the paradigm shifts so hard they can't react. Trump alluded that he thinks the midterms will be a positive for him, and this confirmation will be apart of that.
  17. Did everyone listen to the press conference? I caught a bit of it. There is a reason he doesn't do these. I find it hilarious he keeps calling the New York Times failing... but keeps talking about how he reads them! Then, says they'll endorse him or go bankrupt. I didn't hear all of it, so did any familiar journalists ask any tough questions?
  18. I put a lot more weight on the women that have been willing to put their names at the end of these. Anonymity leaves too much doubt and wiggle room. Not that it isn't true, I feel the same way about the failing new York Times oped, attach your name and deal with the fallout.
  19. At this point the GOP is cutting their nose off on this guy. Just nominate someone else! What loyalty do they have to this dude? I used dude, but wanted to use something else. Thru confirm him, and I very the odds of them losing the Senate go up. The guy running against Heidi is shooting himself in the foot, Susan Collins is feeling a lot of pressure... If they pull him, they can confirm a different right wing white guy. They confirm him, and the Senate becomes a toss up, and the house is guaranteed to be lost.
  20. The UN laughed at Trump today. Seriously, the world laughed at us. We have to stomach 2 more of these idiotic speeches in front of the world during this presidency.
  21. Ok just read it. Trump can fire Rosenstein. Rosenstein had authority over the Mueller probe because sessions recused himself. I wonder if firing sessions, and putting in an attorney general not recused would allow new attorney general to fire Mueller. This white house is bananas.
  22. When does it apply to receivers too? Diggs wasn't the same after he was pile driven into the ground 5 yards out of bounds. That hit, was far worse than what happened to Rodgers.
  23. Ok, passed the point of no return for me on his nomination. If Trump doesn't pull him, and the GOP confirms him, they should be burned at the stake in November 2018 and November 2020. Replace every single Senator that votes to confirm him. These privileged white rich kids like Brock Turner getting away with assaulting women is disgusting and should not be tolerated in this country. Grow up, and treat women as a person, and not an object of your desire. I'm so sick of this ****. When my son was 7 he was flipping the neighbor girls skirt up and showing her underwear. That was one of the more emotionally straining points of my parenting experience; articulating the words to express the decency and respect for girls/women deserve. I was not raised with the same courtesy, and while I don't think I ever did, I hope I didn't disparage any of the girls I grew up with.
  24. Can Trump directly fire him? I thought sessions was the only one with that ability. Trump firing sessions to get to Rosenstein to get to Mueller would be incredible.
  25. He should make Trump fire him. I'm bias, because I don't want a yes man overseeing a potentially incriminating investigation against Trump. I would feel the same regardless of party.
