Anyone watch altered carbon? I liked it. Pretty good plot, kept me interested, some twists, decent character development. I like attempts like this to depict a future world.

Most likely not a good sign for Trump. I would love if they named the next D hurricane, hurricane Donald. Then, spend the next week talking how it is the least powerful hurricane they've ever seen, and that it barely qualifies as a hurricane. My mission for the next 2 weeks is to advocate for a wimpy hurricane Donald.

He's not dropping it. Claiming now the number of people dead as a result of the storm is wrong. Doubling down on how great he did. Rick Scott even released a statement disagreeing with him publicly. The GOP is starting to walk away from him...

That 49erz team has some talent. Vikings looked pretty solid and especially liked cousins. Offensive line is a little weak and secondary had some lapses. Really encouraged by the pressure from the front 5 today. Forcing elite qbs like Rodgers into bad throws will help this team win big games.

Missed this one completely. How good is Fresno State? Is this a legit win, or are they a mediocre team the Gophers should be expected to beat? After a dreadful day for the big ten yesterday, the schedule doesn't look as intimidating outside of Wisconsin and Ohio State.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is probably a given to leave in the next term. I don't care how it happens, but Thomas has to go. His opinions and interpretations of law are much too radical.

I give him more credit for his statement of independence. I didn't like Sessions to begin with, and I'm not changing my mind now. I'd cheer if he gets fired, because his view of law and justice is so far removed from mine. I think it will be a lot more challenging to get a yes man through after the midterms, so sessions is here to stay.

I think the difference is that a democratic gerrymander will stir the right pot. Maybe this is my bias at this time, but most democratic voters are able to realize the injustice a gerrymandered district or state has. Republicans, to date, have been content since it benefits them. I might be with you Brock. Use the same technology the republicans did, screw the system up so bad the Supreme Court has to take action. I'm the mean time, a gerrymandered map for democrats is gut wrenching for Republicans. In the current state it is +5 swing for Republicans... but democrats already have a +3 advantage, and could easily go to a gerrymandered +8. We're talking a 40+ seat house advantage. I'd feel differently about this if the Republican party stood for the same principles it used to. That party is long gone. At this point, the party only seems concerned with big donors, polluting, and evangelicals. They are gong to find it hard to ever win the votes of millennial that don't give a **** what Reagan said in 1980.

I don't think sessions would be willing to undergo that much public ridicule. I mean, if Trump went up to him and was like, hey, I'm gong to say a bunch of terrible **** about you every single day, but in real life we're secretly friends... Most people out of elementary school would think that is a terrible plan. I highly doubt a long term senator would agree to that type of agreement. I'd like to think sessions is a little racist and misogynist on his own, but I don't think submissive is descriptive of him. He loved Trump for the ability to enforce his slanted view on the nation, not to be a whipping boy like the gimp.

How does the outcome of that system diverge from the popular vote? I would say it would energize more to vote, but the outcome would be almost the exact same. Put your formula into the 2016 of proportioned electoral college votes, and Clinton crushes Trump, just like she in the popular vote.

They already voted, and it passed easily. They also have an approved constitution. They also have a bill in Congress already for statehood. Seriously, it isn't far fetched to see them become a state in the next decade. The hurricane helped create awareness and support I think.

I'm not so sure I'd be willing to agree they won fair and square... but they did win. Best thing democrats could do is add puerto Rico and us virgin islands as a state. After the 2020 elections they might be able to do it. Puerto Rico is close, really freaking close, to becoming a state already. I guarantee the GOP will fight with all their might to keep it from becoming a state. The amount of money pouring into Puerto Rico (for all purposes) would be astounding. Unemployment would go from 10% to 5% within months. While I don't think this would guarantee a Democrat sweep across the board, I do think the current GOP would have to move to the center to ever win the electoral college points in Puerto Rico. After the hurricane, I bet it would get a lot of support. To me, that would be an example of using the rules of the constitution to even the playing field.... Well, not even it, but at make it less lopsided. If the democrats are smart, they will already have a plan in place for this.

The withholding of documents is troublesome. The fact 40000 were dumped before the hearing, and many more are not available is reason to postpone this vote. I still maintain, despite my differences with Kavanaugh, there hasn't been anything I've heard that disqualifies him. Roe is in danger, the nra is drooling, big business is printing checks, it is a devastating time to want progressive progress. This is our country, and the beginning of our fall from the top.

They have no ground to stand on to oppose. Just because he is ideologically conservative doesn't mean he is unfit for the bench. I could see the case where democrats push for all the documents to be released before confirming, and maybe that is a valid request. I only recently started paying attention to this process.

Meh, he shouldn't be expected to give a definitive answer on a case before he has the chance to hear the arguments. I don't like opinions, much like gorsuch, but I think he has less conflicting past opinions than gorsuch did. I struggle with his bias toward business, regulation, possibly abortion, and executive power. This process has become way more partisan than it should be. The resistance to gorsuch was justified because the republicans stole that seat on the bench. I'm guessing Kavanaugh will see more support from democrats. I bet we'll see 5+ vote for him, and in my opinion, it should be more.

Graham was on CNN this early evening and was convincing with his opinions. I've lost a lot of respect for him with how he has championed the Trump administration. I hoped he would stand up a lot taller on egregious topics and hasn't. To me, he feels he can have more influence being close to Trump rather than his enemy. I honestly feel he shouldn't care what Trump thinks, and just do what is right.

Anyone catch any of the hearing? Kavanaugh seems like a pretty solid nomination. These hearings aren't phasing him at all. Spending your life in Washington is probably an advantage in dealing with these situations.

This is breathtaking. The book, and now this? Wow. This has to be the beginning of the end. I'm betting after the midterms republicans start distancing themselves. Trump hasn't been doing anything but losing lately.

Another day, another piece of mud Trump will shake off with 35% of Americans. This presidency will go down in history as one of the worst ever. I'm amazed at how much of a fraud he really is. His lawyers don't want him to testify because they are sure he'll lie... Seriously. Can't make this up if you tried.
