  1. Looked like he rolled his ankle. Him not being 100% could create a weak spot in the d.
  2. I'm still registered as Republican in Iowa and received a paid absentee request form. I wonder if democrats do that. Regarding the tv ads, there is a lot of data saying they don't work. I'm not sure where the best money is spent, but I think it is getting people out to vote.
  3. I'm really hoping Congress blocks the arms deal to Saudi Arabia. Sasse and Paul have come out against it.
  4. Like RBI? The Jets had 21 yards total in the second half before the last drive. Rhodes just got hurt. That might not be good.
  5. Not flashy, cousins not looking great, but never threatened. Another decisive win (likely). When is cook coming back? Next week against NOLA will be a good barometer for where this team is. If the defense can continue to play like they have, I like Vikings chances.
  6. I think all of us on this board want to see the team succeed. There are some of us that are a lot more cynical and skeptical than others.
  7. There are some issues in dinkytown. The way I see it, they only have 2 marginally winnable games left. If they don't win next week, I might say zero. No amount of motivation can beat actual coaching. A 4 touchdown deficit in the first half is absolutely unacceptable. Getting blown out by a winless team is absolutely unacceptable. I'm not on the fire pj fleck train, but whatever he's doing isn't working. These types of performances are fireable offenses.
  8. Not dead yet.
  9. Again, I live in this district, and it is full of racists. He will get re-elected. It is a shame. This area is very old, very white, very uneducated, and very set in their ways. I can't wait to move.
  10. Yikes. So much for the start to their second half of the year. Not watching the game, but probably glad I'm not. Nebraska hasn't been as bad as their record would suggest... but that doesn't mean they should be up 28-0 in the first half.
  11. Agree with Levi. Vikings dominated them in every way. At no point was the game close, even if the score was. Latavius ran for over 100, and they just let him continue to pound the defense. Vikings were in cruise control most of the game. I wouldn't magnify a single margin of victory.
  12. I'm not sure saying you'd vote to impeach Trump is going to go over so well in Texas. He had a good run, but that opens the door for Cruz to paint him as am extreme liberal.
  13. That is a major reach. Texas won't be a viable opportunity for a while, but we'll get a peak at how close it is. Of course, a huge turnout would win for Beto.
  14. Ben, what evidence do you have that the gophers are not fully utilizing the 85 (!!!) scholarships available to them? I couldn't find anything, but they'd be fools not to. With 85 (!!!) scholarships, there aren't many kids there without fill rides. When I was an athlete at the u, even the backup punter had a full ride. It was a joke. Gopherguy... first of all, I had to type your name out just now, and since I use Swype it was annoying. Next, I'm pretty sure Fleck took over a full team, so if he is only playing freshman that would be weird. He didn't even take over a bad team. At this point, I'm skeptical. They second half of the year is a better barometer for the program than they first.
  15. This was part of my hesitation with Kavanaugh. His propensity to side consistently against individuals and for corporations and executive power.
  16. Splitting the country isn't a good idea. You pointed out Texas, Texas could turn purple by 2030. I don't think they would vote to break off from the Union again. If more minorities voted it would be a blue state. I just had a situation where a friend of mine shared a 1 minute video of Nancy Pelosi discussing a media smear campaign. It was presented to show her describing a Democrat tactic that they used on Kavanaugh. I showed she was actually describing a Republican strategy. He finally conceded... Then, this morning posted how both sides are dirty and he still felt the same way. The bias runs so deep. I never see self proclaimed liberals go out of their way to make right wing protesters or supporters look stupid. It is a beloved segment on faux and many internet platforms. Constantly showing the libtards and devaluing them as propaganda. End citizens United. I'm sure it benefits democrats too, but it helps the gop way more. Politics has only degraded since it came to be. Imagine if those rich companies put all that money back into the workforce instead of political races. It is depressing to think they are more concerned with getting their agenda into office than paying their workers.
  17. Let's see how the next 6 games go. They go 500 or better, and I call this season a success. They win 2 and I'll be ambivalent. Less than that, and I'm going to continue to be critical.
  18. The success of a D1 program doesn't hinge on the ability to send kids to the NFL. Winning games in the big ten has nothing to do with that. Great NFL players come from all the collegiate programs. Many, aren't winning national titles, and I'm not even advocating for that! I just want them to compete in the big ten. If you have mediocre expectations, you only get mediocre results. Not all successful teams trade their soul for wins. Stanford does alright. Clemson does alright (and I'd say dabo is pj fleck on steroids). Again, these things off the field are great. Pretty much all teams try to incorporate that, fleck/minnesota aren't special.
  19. I like the 538 podcasts. I haven't gotten into podcasts yet, so I should dabble a little more in this space. My wife likes stoner mom, the minimalists, Rob Bell. My bruh likes Joe Rogan.
  20. Why should be be held to the same expectations as a big ten baseball player? Maybe baseball isn't the best example here, because the big ten isn't that great. The guys on the gophers have a free ride to play football and win games. This is almost a job. They better have higher expectations than a juco player. Going to class and giving back to the community are great too, but it doesn't win games. If all the matters is gpa and community service just eliminate the football team.
  21. The bills loss was bad. No excuse for that. The season is long, and losses like that happen. They also could have had wins in la and gb. This is still the nfl, and like the loss to the bills shows, you still have to show up.
  22. Tough to judge. They were in cover 2 a lot, and an aging Fitzgerald is a top offensive weapon. Maybe they'll get griffen back to help. The way the line is playing now, getting griffen back would make them scary.
  23. That's too bad. Hughes was really starting to figure it out. Hopefully it isn't torn.
  24. Comfortable win.
  25. Diggs and Thielen are the best duo right now by far. With the way the defense is starting to play, they might live up to the preseason expectations.
