  1. It does matter that he didn't get the complete game, especially since it was a shut out. Who are you guys kidding? I bet every single pitcher that threw a complete game shut-out doesn't think it is a meaningless stat. Seriously, that notion is beyond preposterous. This discussion is a lame one. I think starting pitchers should be throwing 120 pitches per start if possible. Certainly there are time when a guy just isn't going to have it and will not make it. You want guys to go deeper into games they have to get used to pitching with fatigue. Coddling guys at 100 pitches is a great way to over-use the bullpen.
  2. Have to take him out why? He had a ****ing shutout and was up by 7 runs! Yeah he was out of gas and struggling, that is why you keep him in a let him push through it. How is he or any pitcher going to learn to pitch when they are tired if Gardy/Andy don't let them? This isn't April or even late September. Let the kid work and have a shot.
  3. Meaningless? I really wouldn't go that far. I would have let him keep going. He had a complete game shutout going, how often does that happen? He was only at 109 pitches, let him try to get a double play with the next batter. Send Andy out to give him a breather and tell him to throw strikes. Stop this babying.
  4. I hope the Twins put him on waivers instantly. If he would have done this a month ago I doubt he'd still be a Twin. The better he plays the more likely he gets traded.
  5. Yeah, his may was bad too. He also had a great April and did just fine in June. He is a mediocre pitcher and inconsistencies are to be expected. The problem is that the bad starts are becoming more and more common.
  6. At the time he had done pretty well. Problem is that his July was horrible and his August is starting where he left off.
  7. Amazing how poorly Correia has been pitching. He had sustained success for a long time. Even the biggest critics couldn't have estimated him imploding this bad. I just was coming in to checkin on the game, I see there isn't much to check in on.
  8. Yeah. The Twins could use a nice return on him in the next month.
  9. Looks pretty close to me. Albers and Worely might be in the mix for Rochester too. I wouldn't consider them a lock for the Twins.
  10. You all seem pretty cavalier about Meyer's arm injury. Shoulder problems are bad, and he hasn't pitched for 2 months. I'm pretty worried about his future right now. Side note, we are still likely a month away from learning of a torn ligament needing surgery in his shoulder. If that happens I swear I will lose it. I'll ask Brock for a week ban just so I don't consistently freak out and swear every other word.
  11. Hopefully Arcia is here to stay this time.
  12. Looks like Jorge had no help from the field in his start. The E-Town club has been pretty bad defensively. This is his 3rd rough start in a row.
  13. His struggles are why I (and many others) felt he was wasting his time in AAA. He is at about 130 innings, so at this point he is pushing his arm. I would have liked to see him up a month earlier so he could adjust while his arm was still strong. I'd really like to keep seeing him get starts, but I doubt he throws a single pitch in September. Truth be told, I felt he would have some immediate success. I'm not talking Cy Gibson, but felt he could end the year with a 4 ERA. That was a little optimistic. See that, I can be bubbly and sunshiney sometimes.
  14. I can live with an average to slightly below average SS that can OPS .800. Average range and arm strength aren't a problem if he is efficient. Errors would be the main concern for me. I haven't been able to see any errors recorded but I'm sure they are somewhere. I would only imagine that Ryan would be more careful about signing an unkown at SS after the Nishioka debacle. The Twins have the money to make this happen without it hurting too bad if it doesn't work out. SS has been a position they haven't been able to fill adequately for a long time. Getting a guy that might be the solution would be exciting.
  15. You might want to try smarter than a 5th grader.
  16. That is awesome.
  17. Hard to rate him right now. Need more scouting reports and results. Stewart is easy to rate right now because he was the number 4 pick in the draft and was highly scouted. His rating has more to do with ceiling than anything else right now. Full season ball is where prospects start to stick out from fillers.
  18. Gut punch? More like exhaling after being gut punch for the whole season by these two. Hicks would have the 6th lowest OPS in all of qualified starters in baseball (if he qualified) and Diamond is one of the worst 5 starters in baseball. These guys just have no business being on an MLB roster right now.
  19. Stewart Meyer May Berrios Eades Jorge Thorpe Chargois Duffy Gonsalves
  20. I know why. Those trees in CF are gone allowing him to see the ball better.
  21. Finally. This should have been done a month ago. Hopefully Hicks can figure something out and Albers can have some success.
  22. Rosario is not jumping around the diamond. He will be at 2b for good. I don't see any problem with letting Florimon have SS for the foreseeable future. He is sitting at 1.9 WAR on the year, and I highly doubt the Twins will improve on that with their in-house options. Perhaps Polanco can take over in a few years, but Florimon has earned the job for now. How Plouffe and Dozier end the season will dictate a lot IMO. Plouffe had a horrendous July, especially after the AS break. Both could be trade bait next year at the trade deadline. Either could have pretty decent value to bring in a top 100 guy. It will be interesting to watch what they do. One should be kept around for INF depth (my guess Dozier for his D), but with Sano and Rosario coming up they will be redundant.
  23. I don't think complete blame can be put on him, but I don't certainly don't think he is without fault. How much he takes the blame is difficult because instructing MLB hitters is probably more difficult than instructing MiLB hitters. Bruno will have to adjust too.
