    Are you really comparing Margot to Garlick, Cave, and Stevenson? Really? You're just guessing that the youngsters will outproduce the veterans with an actual track record in the early months. Imagine last year if we didn't acquire Castro or Famer, because--using your logic--of the belief the likes of Miranda and Lanarch (or whoever) were going to outperform them.

    Now you're just making things up. Maybe over the long run those guys will out produce Margot, or Farmer or whoever else you are talking about. But the odds are that we will need many of the players you mention throughout the entirety of the season, as well as the vets.

    To those decrying about Martin, Lanarch, and the loss of flexibility on the opening day 26 man: did the Twins suddenly invent some salve to stave off injuries for the entire year? We will see a lot of Martin this year, maybe a significant amount given our team's injury history. Depth matters, as last year showed.

    Is there any depth beyond Martin/Castro? That's my fear, Buxton getting hurt, one of those two getting plugged in, struggling, with zero depth behind them

    No one like replacement level players (though the names mentioned are better than that), until they realize that their system is full of far below replacement level players along with the pixie-dust hope prospects.

    Adam Duvall or MAT don't have a place on this team as a part time options? Isn't there TV money incoming? Yeah, no thanks to Kyle Garlick or Jake Cave.

    Maybe, and it's still a good deal. The Twins will roster the guy, and let the depth sort itself, which actually has value.

    No way is Polanco worth 3 wins more than Julien, Lee, etc at 2nd and the addition of Topa to the bullpen, and adding another above replacement level starter to give more flexibility. Again, those who don't like the trade, what other trade that added wins this year or better future value could be had? It's all just naysaying.

    You could be right, with the acquisition of both a starting and relieving pitcher, but it's hard to ignore is production in the bullpen.

    Let me get this straight: It's stupid to acquire top 100 prospects (or prospects in general), but it's prudent to hold on to them? Either you value (top 100) prospects or you don't. Even Martin's and SWR's future aren't yet written in stone, and you speak as if they are.

    6 million plus more cash? I'm more than very surprised. Let's see where they use those additional funds. Wouldn't be great to see a TV deal announced by Feb 1?!
