  1. Eh, they'll have Vlad Jr. soon enough.
  2. That's probably it for Perez; fine first start for him.
  3. Part of the way we could solve the homeless problem is universal healthcare so these people could get mental health/addiction treatment, a remedy totally useless to the refugee situation.
  4. Called third strike, indicates good sequencing. Garver/Perez doing a fine job.
  5. The question should not be whether it's our responsibility to help/aid refugees and their countries of origin; the question should be what is the best way to solve this humanitarian problem. Who really cares whether the problem is our responsibility, it is on our doorstep, and we clearly are best situated to do something positive about it.
  6. Hopefully they are smart enough to start cutting them out of the frames.
  7. TFW you use a pejorative term, "illegals," which is also factually incorrect because seeking asylum is legal, then cry foul about interfering with substantive issues.
  8. I don't disagree. It's just a lot to entrust to the producers/writers (non-source). That there was source material assuaged, if foolishly, much of my worries about convolution/direction. But given the book-readers here and elsewhere, maybe, the show is better in the hands of the two HBO guys; they seem smart (if sentimental); I watch inside the episode too)
  9. Heavy hitting premiere. I thought they might blow this season, so far away from source material. (Though there was a bit of wishfulment.)
  10. When it gets warm, watch out for our lineup.
  11. Now, that's a line-drive homerun!
  12. Don't ever change, Buck!
  13. Good for Tiger. Incredible story.
  14. Bran is the current betting favorite to get the Iron Throne in the end. Odd. https://www.bovada.lv/sports/entertainment/game-of-thrones-specials
  15. That episode is the definition of a ticking clock. I don't have any problem with where the show ended up, but they sure dragged it on in convoluted ways, and lost part of the elegance of the ending. I did like some of the character relationships during that season, though. They should have ended it with another miniseries, or limited it to three seasons.
  16. It's surprisingly excellent. Give it a chance, the characters do take a while to grow on you.
  17. Maybe I am too much of a nerd. But Battlestar Galactica is one of my favorites, if not the favorite. The Expanse is also really good, though not done.
  18. Not a bad theory.
  19. I enjoy these kind of trailer breakdowns, for those interested.
  20. Rise of the Skywalker? Does that refer to Kylo Rens inner Skywalker? Are there any other Skywalkers left? And was that Snoke's laughter at the end?
  21. Okay, that's funny.
  22. Work ethic alone may not be enough to pull a family out of poverty, and may not even get passed on if parents are working all the time. Poor people have go to crappier schools and simply have less class-jumping educational opportunities. And I don't think there's any direct lines to be drawn, just that if you're not only poor and you also don't look like the majority, you not only may not the life-skills to succeed, but you may not even get the opportunities to test them if you do.
  23. I wonder if Assange will try to use any information he has about Podesta/DNC emails as leverage in his charges related to Chesea Manning, but now that the special counsel is shut down, I'm sure that's wishful thinking.
  24. This. Why I liked the Korver piece was because it was pitch perfect. He parsed out the difference between guilt and those who simply can do something about the problem (which he calls responsibility) but I wouldn't even go that far. We can't stop people from jumping on this bandwagon or that cause, but we can provide an alternative practical way forward amongst all the noise.
