1. It was certainly liberal, but it wasn't nearly as aggressive and partisan as I was lead to believe. There's lots of issue that really shouldn't be partisan and Obama highlighted quite a few. What do people feel about connecting the minimum wage to the cost of living? It's a just idea, in it's spirit, but it's practical affect on low wage-paying business's capacity to turn profit is unknown to me. Though I can see how it would affect public corporations (box stores, fast food, etc.) stock worth.
2. And the cabin is on fire.
3. If his inauguration address was any indication, the speech will be boldly liberal. I'm interested to see if he mentions Drones or N Korea.
4. Certainly extended spring training is an option for Gibson to limit his pitches, isn't it?
5. It got just as bad at BYTO, Dave. Sure, we shouted them down more quickly and shamed them into silence, leading the place to empty out. A sad thing, but it happened.
6. This is just difficult to do. My "justice" sense tingles during these threads, and I feel the need to set the record straight. What's more maddening is that these same posters can sometimes make astute, legitimate points and be cordial throughout an entire thread--and then I have trouble validating even their good points for fear it gives the arrogance to turn back into a bully. I think we need a custom user titles like "possible troll" "rabble rouser" "lockerroom nick pinto/kyle lohse" "aj pierzynski." Posters could earn them through continued poor behavior.
7. Dave Cameron at fan graphs listed it as one of the worst moves of the offseason.
8. My internet brethren, I think it's fine to police our etiquette, but really the problem lies beneath the surface layer of snark and insults. There's a few posters here who purposely inflame discussions, try to rope people into some inane and endless back-and-forths. I know I get stuck in these conversations, and even if I believe I'm working with some principled reason behind my (good) fight, I'm just making things worse. It's not politeness that will make the board more pleasant, it's completely ignoring the provocateurs.
9. Ohh, is that like a merit badge? I want one.
10. You're being pretty assumptious that the guys you mention would receive maximum value this offseason. All those guys can still be traded.
11. Nor do I. Getting Bauer is seemingly awesome, but clearly AZ soured on him...
12. Actually he's better, esp. if you minimize the 4th+ PA...
13. Well they shouldn't cut Butera and then spend another league minimum on some other player. As a spendthrift, I thought you'd be interested in reducing cost. Cutting Butera and signing another potential major league catcher, doesn't save any money, nor really makes the team any better. The criticism in this thread is baseless. There might be legitimate criticism against the FO's desire to put a winning team on the field in 2013--this sure ain't one of them.
14. This isn't proof. This is supposition at best. (Not a pejorative).
15. Well if your point is that simple, it's hard to see where anyone could be led astray.
16. Guys, will anyone group with me?
17. At least the rotation has room for all those prospects.
18. Chrome loads faster for me on most sites and uses less memory. It also seems less invasive to me.
19. Seven million dollar base with incentives according Heyman.
20. 77 wins. This is what optimism looks like.
21.
22. But there IS substance. Nothing says freedom like a forced transvaginal ultrasound. Or not covering birthcontrol (but covering viagra) in health insurance plans. Or opposing equal pay for equal work. Or...
23. Oh, you're telling me!
24. Let's also acknowledge that the CIA and the Pentagon, save the guys at the top, aren't party-political entities. They are always going to be hawkish in terms of the policy they recommend and wish to implement, whoever is in the Whitehouse.
25. The ends don't ever justify the means, well, as long as anyone wants to keep up the pretense of being 'good'.
