  1. I would bet not. It seems unlikely that T-Mobile would buy the subscription for you. I would think they would keep it in their own name to prevent that.
  2. Really there would be two options and Plouffe has to be out longterm for Sano to move back to 3B. Option 1. Sano stays in OF, Escobar or Nunez at 3B with Polanco getting called up. Option 2. Sano moves to 3B. Kepler plays RF. I don't know who gets called up (D. Murphy is also LHB so he isn't really a replacement for Sano) Honestly keeping Sano in RF looks like the better option to me.
  3. Has anybody seen Gonsalves's Dad on here in awhile? Didn't he pop in and make some comments a couple of times? I'm always curious for some greater insight.
  4. Meyer dominating, Gordon showing some power (2 XBH's!), Tyler Jay only allowing three hits (albeit with a Hughes like line). Kohl dominating yesterday. Not a bad sign from the big prospects. Now only if Buxton and Sano can get it together!
  5. All this is fair, but the closest person I could find to that value last year was Avisail Garcia, who is a known statue. That's a pretty big miss on a talented OF like Rosario. And while I don't know this, you'd think the projection would know to at least separate IF, OF, and C numbers for projections. Some guys are good at one at terrible at the other. Others suck at all three (I'm looking at you Doumit.)
  6. Defense doesn't slump, so the Rosario projection is wild to me. I can the regression, but flipping it on its head is so stupid, as to make me question the system's defensive worthiness.
  7. Plouffe is projected for a 250/315/420 Line with varying returns on his D (I'm inclined to go for the positive side +3 Runs) Freese is projected for a 255/320/390 Line with varying returns on his D (although they tend to be more negative. apprx. -3 Runs) The Difference in the bat is not huge. There is a decent difference for their gloves but nothing huge. Plouffe is the better player, but I just can't see any team trading a "B" Prospect for Plouffe when Freese is so readily available.
  8. Fair enough. However if you were a team (let's say the Pirates) and needed a 3B, would you have traded anything for Plouffe or signed Freese? I personally would have signed Freese.
  9. THAT is a better question. It seems that a lot of GM's (admittedly TR is an above average offender) will offer contracts to guy's in their last year or so of arb even though it isn't a bargain. (Duensing) I assume it has something to do with control and stability. BUT The Twins could have had Freese and Bastardo for Plouffe's Salary + 2 Mil. BUT It wasn't apparent Freese would be available for so cheap (to me anyways)
  10. Has anybody asked Sano what the hardest part of transitioning to the outfield is for him?
  11. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/03/pirates-sign-david-freese.html#comments I don't think there was any market for Plouffe at all. Can we make it official: Plouffe is now the new Duensing for trade scenario's (A player that is thought to have a market but in reality doesn't)?
  12. Nunez is on the major league roster right?
  13. Let's say this happens: Plouffe is traded for a bucket of balls. Twins then go out and sign Freese. IMO the Twins are still up a bucket of balls, ergo why would anybody trade for Plouffe when they could just sign Freese. They both: A. Will likely make a similar salary this year B. Will likely provide similar defense this year C. Will likely provide similar offense this year. It doesn't matter if the Twins get fleeced, the original team would still be better off just signing Freese. Which nobody has yet done.
  14. What team in their right mind would trade for Plouffe? David Freese is still available as a FA and posted a similar line last year. It's not like Plouffe is a huge bargain.
  15. I would really like to see Arcia get his shot however, and he needs it now. There is of course the service time element to this as well.
  16. I'm not saying Butera is better then Fryer. I was simply stating that Butera would do just fine as a D-only C in AAA. He wouldn't be the backup. He might not even be the #3 C. I hope Ryan looks for somebody better and finds that guy, but if he can't I won't upset at all. I'd also have a hard time believing that the Twins didn't want Fryer back. He just wanted an opportunity to be the backup I presume, something the Twins were not going to afford him with the recent trade for Murphy. I'll guess that you wanted the Twins to do something about C? The Murphy move probably prevented a Fryer return. You are simply mistaking my "I won't be mad if he returns in the right role" to "I want Butera back or else" it seems.
  17. I'd say very few teams think Fryer can hit higher then .243.
  18. By the time you get to AAA filler, yea it does. C's who can do both, are starting. We are not talking about a starter here. I feel like this is obvious.
  19. I mean, he is kinda the mold for this kind of catcher. A defensively solid replacement. I really wouldn't mind it if he filled Fryer's role.
  20. The whole "retirement tour" certainly is in vogue right now. Somehow I feel A-Rod doesn't do this though...
  21. Why? I don't understand this argument at all. Escobar showed he can be an above average SS for the second year running. It's not like he is much worse then the Flores, Tejada, or other Escobar.
  22. Although, having looked at Thrylos's post on the other thread, the only person who should feel jipped is Lindor. Other then HR's he did have the superior season. Sportswriters dig the long ball too I guess.
  23. The right guy won. The right guy took second. The right guy took third. It's nothing more then an indication of their rookie seasons. To be fully honest I think I'd rather have Correa than Sano anyways.
  24. 99 games, 22 HR's, 68 RBI's, .857 OPS from SS Clearly he should have won. Agree? Oh wait.
