  1. I think if I was spending the money (and the Pohlads have plenty of money) I'd go for Price instead. A couple years younger, left handed and has always played in the AL.
  2. Nobody wants Nolasco maybe Duensing.
  3. He would be nice but Terry would never spend that kind of money.
  4. Arcia for Christian Bethancourt would sound better to me. I'm not sure Arcia can offer enough in the field to make a NL team want him, however. Zunino could end up being Butera 2.0 unless his bat improves but it might be all Arcia is worth after this is year.
  5. Might be hard to spin this sow's ear into a silk purse. Rather damning for the front office and scouting department.
  6. I'd like to keep Berrios but I'd include Stewart. Maybe make it a bigger trade and include Meyer and Santana or Polanco even a little more and get Vogt at the same time. If they are going to trade Gray they might as well trade Vogt go full blown rebuild.
  7. *Agree. The game is played by humans, and humans make mistakes. Hitters, pitchers, managers, coaches, bloggers and umpires all make mistakes. Turning it into a video game so everything is perfect stinks, imo. If they are going to do it make the time after the play really short, maybe 15 seconds. The manager standing on the top step for several minutes while someone in the back goes over the video screws the game up. If you aren't sure right away move along.
  8. The Utley slide was cheap and the umpires were brain dead. Black eye on baseball, imo. Well beyond playing the game hard and the "right way".
  9. Solarte played about 1/4 of the games at 2B so they could move him there full time. They also have a LH hitting 1B so an option when a LH is pitching. SD was a really bad hitting team this year and he likely would improve that even being an average player himself. However I don't think Plouffe has much value. Nobody is going to pay much for average.
  10. Plouffe for Kimbrel would be a trade I'd like. I doubt SD would, however.
  11. The biggest problem is that Duensing is a free agent so who would we trade for him? I like the idea better than resigning Torii.
  12. I'm not sure you can get much for him, he is rather average. You probably can get more for Dozier, maybe you could move Plouffe to second. He was a shortstop he should be able to play 2B.
  13. Simple, move him to the bullpen. He has a good arm and we need a good relief pitcher. Plus he can also catch the other guys when they are warming up.
  14. I think whenever Ryan retires again things will change very little. They will likely promote Antony and the rest of the staff will stay the same. By the way the Twins have only 4 playoff appearances with TR the GM.
  15. I wanted to vote for Old Man River but I don't see his name. Thanks to everyone, there is no way to pick one above the others, imo.
  16. What would Torii do? He flips his bat every time he hits the ball.
  17. Actually there is a rule about players using obscene language. Both Moli and Suzuki could have been ejected.
  18. I don't see how Dozier can be the MVP. The second half when his team is trying to make a playoff push and he has a .212/.284/.368/.652 line with an ops+ of 77. That's not what an MVP does in a playoff race, imo. I'd vote for Sano, everything Dozier hasn't been in the 2nd half Sano has been.
  19. I don't think screaming F*** You's from the top step of the dugout with kids sitting in the stands behind the dugout is a very classy thing. But I guess the unwritten rules says that's ok if somebody does bat flip.
  20. They should have been yelling at Nolasco!! He's the one to blame not the kid excited about hitting a homerun.
  21. This exercise shows how stupid it is to wait for a couple months, at the start of the season, to make any changes. It was clear very early that the team had, at the least, bullpen issues but waited and then did very little to fix it. It's easy to see that a better bullpen, from early on, could have won us 5-6 more games.
  22. The use of "unbelievable" when it was not. How many things are truly unbelievable? Dick and Bert talking way way way to much.
