  1. I thought the idea was to improve the bullpen, so lets get better guys than we had last year.
  2. Why 9th place hitter? He would have lead the team in BA, OBP and double up the next guy in SB. Wouldn't you like a better OBP guy leading off and guy that can steal a base?
  3. Might be a good leadoff guy and leftfielder. Let Rosario play center, not Revere with his noodle arm. If he ends up a 4th OF, at some point, he would still have value.
  4. I think that the Astros are a good fit for Plouffe. He seems like the kind of player they like. I don't think you'd get Appel for him but they do have a lot of good pitching prospects that could work if that's how Terry wants to go. Better prospects than the Angels.
  5. Has Terry ever traded a Twins top 10 prospect?? Now how likely is it he trades 2-3 for one player?
  6. He'd be our best starter and cost some decent prospects so it isn't a Terry type trade, imo. Plus we don't have Duensing to include in the trade.
  7. I suggested this a while back because it gets Nolasco off the team and fills that outfield void we have right now. The problem we have is management seems to play guys based on what they are paid and not by who is the best player. At worst Upton is a fourth outfielder the next two years while at worst Nolasco is what he has been really bad but continuing to get starts. Upton at best is a very useful outfielder, Nolasco at best is a mediocre starter which we have plenty of at this point.
  8. It would appear that the Twins don't see a bright future for Vagas or they likely wouldn't have spent the money on Park. Seems early to give up on the guy, imo.
  9. How long before St Peter adds Korean food at Target Field? Can you get Korean beer and hot dogs?
  10. Seems like a lot to give up when they already have a "proven closer". The Sox didn't hire Gardy did they?
  11. Expensive, $37 m over the next two years and likely some top 10 prospects to get him. Doesn't sound Terry like.
  12. How can the guy feed his kids for $15.8m?
  13. He was never on the Twins table.
  14. What are the chances of Terry trading for Cuddyer to fill the Torii role? Not for this but it seems like a Terry thing.
  15. Taking on the Upton contract may be the only way to get out from under the Nolasco contract. Nolasco might be ok in that park and the NL.
  16. Nope not real serious but this is "predict the next trade" so I threw something out there.
  17. I think Aoki would be a good fit not only a higher OBP guy but would fill an outfield spot that is slim with proven outfielders. I'm not sure a patch work outfield for a month or two, while hoping for some prospects to come thru, is a good idea except that the games early in the season don't count as much.
  18. We can expect lots and lots of K's. With him Dozier and Sano in the lineup you can expect 500 K's just from those guys.
  19. Plouffe, D. Santana, Suzuki and Nolasco to the Pads for Kimbral, Hedges and Upton.
  20. I think Aoki would be a good pick up after this. Good OBP guy which we can really use.
  21. Looks like Ryan is going after the Astros/Jays model K's and HR and not the Royals model.
  22. I'm not sure a team with poor pitching should trade the best pitching prospect they have. Duensing for Scwarbers would work, however.
