    I've seen a couple reports, true or not, that St Peter really pushed hard for the Nishioka signing because he wanted to expand the Twins "Brand" into Japan.

    My guess is the Astros, he fits into their MO. They also have a bunch of young pitching.

    Interesting to know if the same scouts made both recommendations. My guess is that Terry didn't spend a lot of time in Korea scouting this guy, just like Smith didn't spend time in Japan scouting Nishi. This kind of signing really goes to how good your scouting is. We'll see.

    Seems odd that Ryan would short himself catchers when he is likely trying to trade for one. Doesn't that take leverage away in any trade/signing talks? Unless, of course, they are already done. Lots of talk here of him gaining leverage in any Plouffe trade with the Sano to the OF talk. Doesn't this do the opposite?

    Looking at the Ryan record I just can't figure out where all the love comes from. Is he just that old sweat shirt/chair you can't let go?

    D-Backs 29th best prospect, 1B/DH just what we don't have enough of. Do we have a lot of catchers even bad ones?

    Might make more sense to trade him to the Red Sox for one of their extra outfielders. Ortiz is getting old and he could take over his DH spot in time. It seems odd to screw around with your best prospect like this.

    I really doubt any GM is stupid enough to read much into any thing another GM says. If they want a player they will pay what they feel is fair, or less, and some quote in the paper isn't going to up that imo.

    I'm not sure how this makes sense. Wouldn't it make more sense putting Mauer in the outfield and Sano at 1b?

    Dozier for Refsnyder and Murphy or Sanchez would work for me!

    The game is changing, more and more stat oriented front offices it could be very hard for Gardy to find a match.

    How do you know Gibson would be the starting point? Not sure catchers with concussion histories are a good bet.

    We are lucky Terry will always do whatever it takes to improve the Twins. What if: Cole Hamels goes 7-1 after the trade deadline and Pelfrey was 1-5. Terry has never made that kind of trade and we have no idea if he even asked what it may have taken but where would the Twins have ended up? Plus they now would have a top of the rotation guy for the next 3 years.

    Dozier to the Yankees for Murphy and Refsnyder? 24 yr old guys that have showed some promise, the catcher we need and a younger replacement for Dozier. Might turn out great or they both could bomb. Worth the chance? Dozier would fit right in with the Yankees.

    Yep Terry will have stiff competition to sign Duensing, every team will want him to trade!
