  1. On a positive note, I love watching Ryan when he's on. Quick work up and down the lineup.
  2. Agreed. I have no problem with playing the matchups, but wasting two players after 1 inning is just insane.
  3. Now, no AK too. I get the platoon system, but pinch hitting in the 2nd inning is pretty ridiculous.
  4. Pinch hitting in the 2nd? Something has to be wrong with Julien right?
  5. I will add, no manager/front office of a .500 team is going to get fired less than half way through the season, when their realistic expectation before the year was winning 85-88 games. Things are rocky right now, but unless they fall 10+ games under .500, I really don't see any mid-season changes, at least to the manager and front office.
  6. Not a pretty sight from the top half of the order, that's for sure.
  7. Julien COULD be charged with 3 errors tonight. Love the bat potential but man he's rough in the field.
  8. All people have done is complain about Julien and Kiriloff not in the lineup against LHP. Rocco finds a way to get them both in the lineup, and they both make mistakes. But we want to look at the manager to blame? How is the manager always seemingly at fault? The hitting is abysmal, but both of those plays in the field should be fairly routine.
  9. Well considering they had 2nd and 3rd with 1 out and the 2-3-4 hitters coming up and only scored 1 run is a slight win.
  10. Joey Votto making his season debut for the Reds tonight. With him back at first base, Spencer Steer will make his 4th appearance this season in LF. Outside of the 24 innings he has played there this season, he had exactly one game in the OF in his minor league career. Curious to see how this works out.
  11. I believe the Twins starters average the most innings per start in the majors this year. Can you point out the several times Rocco has pulled starters too early this year? It's easy to say Sonny would "settle down" and qualify for the win last night. He hadn't located pitches all night, what's to think that after 80 pitches he was going to find it? Hindsight is so 20/20 on this topic as well. Pull a guy after 6 shutout innings and 87 pitches and the bullpen does their job? Manager is a genius. Leave a guy in after 6 shutout innings and promptly gives up a walk, hit and a go ahead 3 run homer? Manager is an idiot.
  12. Rosario's line since leaving the Twins: 902 PA. .242/.286/.407. Good for 87 OPS+ Trevor Larnach in that same time period: .658 PA. .222/.315/.376. Good for 93 OPS+
  13. Weren't there posters who said this all off season? Gray speaking out after being pulled early after 1 poor start doesn't mean he wants off the team.
  14. I love that Gray is a bulldog and doesn't want to come out of games. I also watched the game, watch Gray have little to no control over his breaking pitches, watch him walk 3 subpar hitters in the 4th and see 4 of the last 5 balls put in play against him were over 92 MPH. Moran giving up 3 runs in the 5th doesn't change the fact it seemed like a good idea to replace Gray after 4.
  15. If Buck is ready to come off the IL, what else do you do? Your only real other options are cutting someone.
  16. Post wasn't aimed at you, just in general, but I understand your goal of the post.
  17. If we could quit beating a dead horse about the following topics I would love it: A) Buxton not playing CF. B) Kepler not playing/being off the team C) Pagan being cut I feel like 60 percent or more of all topics/posts contain one of these. I get it. Most people think one of these should happen, but until then.......can we use our post power for other things? There's a lot of Twins happening that doesn't involve beating one of these topics further into the ground.
  18. I'm not sure anyone here understands how good Devin Williams has been. Before today he had allowed 1 run this season. A solo HR by Thairo Estrada in a 5 run game in early May. Other than that, the guy had been virtually unhittable. 8 hits in 21.2 innings. 1 ER, 1 HR, 30 K's and an ERA of 0.42. Literally in almost every sense of the word, the best reliever in the game. Tonight.... the Twins went 3/3, 3 hits, 1 BB, 2 HR and 0 K's. 2023 signature moment? I sure hope so.
  19. Are we really going to call Moncada, Anderson and Binentendi front line talent? Moncada is 28, and yes he has been injured quite frequently, but in this last 2 seasons in 576 PA he has a line of: 15 HR, 64 RBI to go along with a triple slash line of .217/.275/.358. Good for an OPS+ of 77. For those curious, Mr. Kepler, who is only 2 years older, has 603 PA in the same time period with 16 HR, 61 RBI to go along with a triple slash line of .217/.304/.355 for an OPS+ of 88. Benintendi has been all but average with zero power and in line to make $17 per year for the next 4 years. Larnach has a better OPS+ than he does. Tim Anderson is 30 and his bat has declined now for the 3rd year in a row. His power he once did have seems to be gone, with his slugging down to .311 this year. Robert, Vaughn and Jimenez are nice players but even with the Twins stars struggling in the early months, they have still scored more runs than the White Sox have in less games. I would say pretty confidently that Correa, Buxton, Polanco, Lewis and Kiriloff make up a better foundation than the Sox have.
