  1. I think that is the key. Santiago has a hard time hitting his spots so a shift for him is a bigger gamble than it would be for a better control pitcher. Santiago and Molitor need to have a serious discussion about what expectations and reality are. The shift is not going away because MATH.
  2. I don't know anything about Tadeo. He looks like a big strong kid. Any info Seth?
  3. I have no data to base this on, but I think that Gibson will turn it around enough to be an average 3-4 starter. I think a bigger problem is Hughes. I see a pitcher who's career has sailed without him. Injuries and age catch up to some faster than others.
  4. I know you are right in my mind, but as a lifelong Twins fan, my heart says enjoy the hell out of it and never stop dreaming.
  5. The Twins could be strong up the middle in years to come if Vielma and Gordon can hit. It is going to be fun watching them mature.
  6. I have been a Twins fan since 1961. Saw my first game in '62. Minnesota winters don't seem, at my age, to be getting any shorter. Twins baseball is the start of warmer and sunnier living. I cannot imagine not listening to or watching as many games as possible. It is who we are.
  7. "Like most hitting coaches, Rowson spends batting practice behind the turtle shell, occasionally giving some advice or encouragement, but mostly observing and learning his hitters. His philosophy, boiled down, is hit the ball hard. If the hitter is putting on his best swing, the direction will take care of itself. No need to aim the ball to the opposite field. When the game starts, Molitor said, Rowson tones down the instruction." "Hit the ball hard...the direction will take care of itself". What the heck are the TV guys going to talk about without the old "You can tell when the batter is coming around when he hits the ball to all fields"? Sounds like the Blue Jays method of hitting. Should be fun to watch. (hopefully)
  8. I have been a TD follower for a long time and to my chagrin, did not know of some of these features. Thank you Nick, for posting this.
  9. I still would have tried Joe in RF and Sano at 1st. I just believe that they won't mess with Joe at all.
  10. What about Tommy in CR?
  11. For the first time in a while, I feel like this could be a fun off season. I think Ryan's legacy will be determined this winter.
  12. Maybe it was a typo and the name was Punto???
  13. Plenty of Debbie downers out today. Enjoy it for however long it lasts. We all have been waiting a long time for any success.
  14. Fun to follow these guys as they progress.
  15. Red Sox - Ruth? OK I guess that was too long ago.
  16. I think that the Twins are positioned to make a trade (or trades) late in ST. Injuries happen to all teams and with the overstocking of pitchers on the Twins, we could see some interesting happenings. Pelf with one year on his contract, Milone with his prior success, Nunez with his supposed flexibility and others could all be moved.
  17. I still believe that Joe was suffering from the concussion well into the season. I can't imagine trying to hit a MLB pitch while not being able to completely focus (Joe, not me lol). I hope he is past that and can return to a more normal season for him.
