  1. There is nothing factual about this. It is merely your opinion. For example; my opinion is that the Twins would be better off without either of them.
  2. Christensen is also an outfielder.
  3. So you want a 39 year old utility infielder that has batted over .235 once in the last 5 years and has hit 8 homerun in the last 4 years (7 came last season)? Sounds similar to Jamey Carroll... Are you sure this has nothing to do with him having a pretty wife?.....
  4. I think Diamond should be the pitcher to go. I know that Thielbar has options but he had such a great year last year in his role and hasn't disappointed this spring. If the Twins are trying to make the best roster, Diamond is waived (hopefully returns to Rochester) and Thielbar heads north. It will be tough to figure out which 2 position players head out with Rohlfing.
  5. I hope people don't look back on the Revere trade and think it was so terrible. It may play out that way but, at the time, we got a fair return for him. This is coming from someone who was excited about Revere's future with the Twins.
  6. I don't mind RBI. The batter in front gets credit for creating the runs (R,2B,SB,3B) Someone who advances the runner gets a Sacrifice. So things are accounted for. My thing is Mauer getting such a high AVG or OBP but he doesn't seem to get many RBI. Maybe someone can pull up his stats with RISP. I feel like he walks so much and doesn't drive in runs... Then the guy behind him the last few years has not been an RBI machine (apart from Willingham).
  7. Great job as usual, RB. I believe this is the opening day lineup, with the exception of Parm for Kubel. How about that left right lineup?
  8. I think Kubel is the odd man out do to versatility of Parm and Collabello. There are 12 pitchers listed here. That would mean that, unless a trade, this could be our pitchers. I personally would let Diamond and Worley go. If a pitcher goes down, we still have plenty of good choices in AAA. Then Tonkin can be given a shot.
  9. I can't believe how fast people are willing to give up and declare Collabello a career minor leaguer. He hasn't even had consistent playing time in the majors. In his first stint he showed good power and the ability to hit the ball the other way. I couldn't believe there was talks of selling him to Korea so soon. He showed potential last season. Yes he is older than a typical rookie, but if you can get 3-4 years of solid contributions at a low dollar amount why not try?
  10. Are the red jerseys going to carry over into the regular season, or is this just a ST thing?
  11. Thankfully it's not the KGB. They would want a whole lot more for you than $5000. They probably wouldn't let you try and raise money via TD, either.
  12. Odds they first see how much potential he has as a pitcher? I think they might. Regardless, I like the signing. An 18 year old that big surely could have some major upside.
  13. I don't think Sano can hit 45 in AAA and not be called up. My guess is Arcia around 33. Dark Horse is Mauer.
  14. There are at the minimum 20 teams scouting him. I'm sure if we sign him for around 30 mil he would have had plenty of offers in the 20s. I say this so people realize that if he flops, it's just part of the risk (Nishi). Many seem to be good with the Twins aggressively going after him. Which is good, but don't start bashing in 3 years if he is brutal.
  15. For me: 1. Gausman- I got really excited about Gausman after watching some videos of him pitch. Loved his delivery, mix, and velocity. 2. Zimmer- Zimmer was my second favorite pitcher and I believed we really needed a pitcher. 3. Correa- We needed and still do need, an exciting SS in our system. I know people are big on Polanco but I need to see another improved year. 4. Zunino- Zunino looked like a beast that would be ready for the majors soon. At the time I thought Common was right in moving Mauer to right (or 3rd). 5. Buxton- Best player available but at a position we didn't need to draft at. ....whoops!
  16. My belief is, no matter how Pinto plays in ST, Suzuki will start opening day. If Pinto plays well in ST, he could start on the big club and play a higher percentage of games than Kurt to start the season. If healthy Suzuki will start day 1.
  17. I will be happy if they pitch more than 5 innings a start. Shooting for 6 and 7 inning outings. Maybe a shoot out or 2 from Nolasco?
  18. I still believe Suzuki was the best option. Why? I would say gut feeling. I have always been a fan of his. Every time the Twins played Oakland I would take notice of Kurt. At the plate and behind the plate. I can't name anything in particular, but It always left me thinking, "this guy is a good player." I also believe that, despite what Ryan has said, Pinto will play himself into the majority of starts. Maybe Kurt will click with a particular pitcher (Butera, Pavano) and catch all those games. I just don't see Pinto regressing like Parmelee did following his September showing. This is all gut feelings, I could be completely wrong, but the BP article projected using stats and that seemed to be nonsense. Maybe my gut feeling is more reliable? Time will tell.
  19. Sounds like Santana maybe be joining the Twins! I heard this on KFAN.
  20. He did have a very small chance of making the roster. I was hoping to see more of him in AAA and the majors if injuries made it necessary. I suppose this is because he was a bright spot on an otherwise dim season.
  21. Shane Wahl don't sound so upset about Parm/Plouffe, not a lot of difference between the 2 thus far. Do you believe that Gardy will work in more LH/RH lineups this year? At least personal wise, maybe not such a dramatic shift in order?
  22. To bad we don't have Slowey. He would be perfect for having 2 slow right fielders instead of a 3rd basemen since nothing will be hit on the ground.
  23. My first lineup of the year! How exciting! Presley (CF) Dozier (2B) Mauer (1B) Willingham (LF) Arcia (RF) Kubel (DH) Plouffe (3B) Suzuki © Florimon (SS) Bench Escobar Parmelee Mastroanni Pinto I hope that Bartlett shows well enough to earn the starting job but I assume he won't right away and will come up from AAA at some point. Sano will start in AA and maybe be up by the All-Star Game. No Buxton this season but it will be close enough for people to grumble about it. Willingham will get traded to make room for Hicks by the break. Pinto will catch as much if not more than Kurt but as the vet Kurt will get the first game. This will be our last year of (different lineup every game nonsense.)
  24. Start a separate thread about this and we can all add bogus rumors about how the talks are going. There could even be a few grumbles that somebody else's wife is willing to let you have 2 seats. That will put the pressure on your wife to give in to the 3rd with an option for a 4th seat to keep you around another few years.
  25. My question is, who spells Presley in center if Hicks can't break camp with the club? What is or Centerfield depth? I thought he was the best option to be taken off the 40.
