  1. Escobar now 2-2 with 2 doubles and 4 RBI in the first inning! Jeez...
  2. Norfork and Durham are tied in the 6th at 0-0. It appears they both had starters making their AAA debuts today (at least for this year).
  3. Rochesters doing their part to try and make the playoffs. Batting around in the 1st.
  4. Another manager will still have Ryan making the personal decisions.
  5. I do agree with going young and not spending much until the nucleus is here and ready to make a push then sign the players we need to fill holes and change the team from a competitive one to a contender.
  6. My reason for thinking this thread was appropriate is because I don't think the Twins should sign a bunch of free agent position players this offseason because they first need to know what they have in prospects coming up. It will be another tough year but we need take the right steps to assemble a quality, consistently competitive team. What position do people want us to sign a definite starting player, long term, at that won't be blocking our prospects? 1B I think will be Mauer the majority of the rest of his career. SS would be a good one. Maybe Catcher?
  7. No Hicks. I believe he will have to prove he deserves it in AAA first.
  8. They should look at Chris Odegaard from the Saints, also.
  9. 2B Dozier RF Herrmann 1B Mauer (3rd catcher) LF Willingham DH Arcia C Pinto 3B Plouffe CF Presley SS Florimon Bench Parmelee Escobar Mastroanni Collabello I think they trade Doumit for a minor leaguer. I believe that, that is about all try do besides adding some minor league free agents. They do this because they will wait for prospects to come up in June/July. What do you think?
  10. Leaving Berrios out is a good call. He seems to really be fighting it. I was thinking they would have shut him (and Gibson) down a couple of starts ago, but the more they pitch this year the more they will be comfortable throwing next year. I just hope neither Tweeks something in the finally couple days.
  11. Does someone know what the tie breaker is in the minors? If Rochester and Norfork tie, how is that settled? One game playoff? Head to head record? Is Turner in AA for a reason? Was it just that they needed a place to put him to get a few more at bats this season, or is it possible he starts next season in New Britian? He has thrown out 32% of potential base stealer. I am fine with the aggressive promotion if that is what it is. It isn't something I'm used to season, but maybe I haven't noticed this kind of thing happen in the past.
  12. The play could be terrible but if he's young and has an ounce of potential than I am alright. I just didn't want to trade for proven (below) mediocrity.
  13. I feel better about the PTBNL.
  14. The got another guy in the outfield taking up space. I would have rather had a C level prospect.
  15. It's the right guy. He is 28! He almost has no potential to improve. He is a Mastroanni at best. Unbelievable. I'm not calling for Ryan's job or anything because I'm sure he know more than I do, but I just don't get it. It seems to be a salary dumb, which is fine I guess if the Organization ever flipped the money saved back on the team. This had better be one crazy offseason for the Twins.
  16. You make some good points. I agree it doesn't make a difference if its the start of season or June. So I'm on board with waiting. Also, I meant prospects like Rosario, Pinto, And Meyer which could all be June as well. Pinto may be sooner than that now.
  17. The problem with so many people thinking we can compete in 2015 when all the prospects are up is, they will all need time to adjust to the majors. Why not stagger there development a bit so you don't have your 1-5 batters try to work through some struggles and end up having to send them down. Who would back them up? A few things about Sano's service time starting at the start of next season: 1. The Twins might see some things that need working out in the minors that weren't apparent in the minors (Parm can't hit a fastball in the majors but crushes in AAA) 2. You don't want all the prospects clocks starting at the same time, anyway. 3. Many of the prospects, especially Sano, should get a huge contract to keep them here long term before their clock is up. These are just my thoughts and ideas. I'm not saying they are right but just that that is what I would do.
  18. Sano hit 2 more home runs tonight. Even if he only bats .230 his first season, while he adjusts to the ML, he could still hit for power and add a spark. I'm ready, come February, to give him a honest chance to make the team. Unfortunately for me, what I'm ready to do has no correlation with what the Twins are ready to do (most of the time).
  19. I want to clarify. Besides Mauer, Perkins, Arcia, for the most part, anyone in our top 10 prospects, plus a hand full of others; I would be willing to throw in with both Willingham and Morneau.
  20. This is very possible they have been making a lot of claims (also rumored to have claimed Morales) but no trades. It's possible they are just being defensive and don't have an interest in any of these guys unless the seller is basically trying to unload them.
  21. I would gladly throw in both. Anyone else they would like to add to the deal?
  22. I would be interested in a Willingham/Morneau for Bundy or Wright trade. I think it is possible based on Baltimores needs and Bundy having TJ. They are making a push this year and the two of them plus Willingham for another affordable year might be enough. I would throw in a PTBNL or cash (eat what's left of Morneau's contract) to make it happen.
