  1. Oh, and Gibbons should be in E-Town right now also.
  2. He really seems to be over throwing. I think when he backs of and needs a strike the pitch looks much tighter and more controlled. He should try and pitch like that all the time. He just is pressing so much out there right now. You can clearly see the talent though. Kind of reminds me of Doc Halladay in his first couple seasons (not that Gibson is Halladay). I agree he should stay and try and figure it out.
  3. I don't see Berrios moving up to start the year. I think that Thorpe will be in E-Town until about this time next year. I don't see why Wimmers would not be in AAA to start next season if healthy. Duffey and Wheeler will probably stay back in Ft. Myers to start the year and will stay there until they earn a promotion. Seems to be almost too many potential starters in the minors, some may have to pitch in a long relief role and rotate in to starts here and there. I like the arms and the potential. If there is anything this list shows, it's that we can not afford to have 5-6 filler arms in AAA. I know it is standard to have veteran 4A players in AAA to help fill spots but the Twins need to start allowing some players to advance to AAA like Pinto this year. Too many players are being asked to make the jump from AA to the majors because they were never given the opportunity to be promoted to AAA with all the filler that is there. Am I ranting? I feel like I'm ranting.
  4. Aaron not Dalton for Roc. Happens to the best of us (Seth being the best of us).
  5. Is there any chance that Ibarra or Jones get a shot at starting again? I'm not saying I want them to or think they should but it would be interesting. I personally believe Ibarra is better off as a reliever and should join the Twins pen if we lose some guys in August or as a September call-up. With Jones I think it would be worth moving him back to the rotation in Ft. Myers to start next season.
  6. I really like what Dozier's been doing lately. Even besides this game. He seems so comfortable and patient at the plate. I would like to see him stay in the lead-off spot the rest of the way. Congrats to Albers on his callup. I will have to clear my schedule to be sure I can watch his debut (sorry wife). Who will end with more home runs this season, Walker or Sano? They should both easily join the 30 HR club for the Twins minors.
  7. .... are you suggesting that we rename them "togetherments?"
  8. Gross game thus far....
  9. Is it just me or does this seem like a down year for trades, League wide? I feel like there were many more deals done by the trade deadline in years past, including less significant players. We have hardly had any trades, including 2nd or 3rd tier players.
  10. I like to think these two things are unrelated. i was hoping to see Bernier out there again.
  11. The bottom half may be more potent than the top.
  12. Not to my knowledge, I meant in general younger players want and should be playing regularly. Sometimes that means going to AAA for some time.
  13. I think, next year, Bernier could assume the role that Carroll occupies currently. A veteran on the bench that can play any infield position but does not need regular playing time and is also content to just sit on the bench and not wine about playing time.
  14. Maybe this lineup is the secret to creating runs. fill it full of players you would never expect to be starting in the ML and boom, offensive explosion and "swagger." It's that kind of crazy thinking that will turn this team around!
  15. Matt Maloney has brought his 0.00 ERA to New Britian and is currently pitching. He's back!
  16. The Mets are set to waive Marcum, interested?

  19. My absolute favorite thing about Deduno is his passion. He wears it all on his sleeve and it's exciting to watch. He takes each hit and walk personally and expects more from himself. People like that often have a good chance of making it. Plus, he is so fun to watch.
  20. Duffey had another successful start on Monday. He pitched 7 innings agains but this time he was able to strike out 10 batters, a new career high. It is also encouraging to note that, of his 10 strikeouts, 8 were of the swinging kind. He gave up 5 hits and just 1 walk with a solo homerun. Duffey has pitched a combined 107 innings this season already. It will be interesting moving forward if his innings get limited.
  21. Since the twins strikeout so much lately, why don't they go up trying to put the ball in play before they have 2 strikes in the count.... Just a thought....
  22. My prospect, Tyler Duffey, is giving his best Masterson impersonation. He has currently pitched 4 perfect innings with 6 strikeouts. Keep an eye on him until the game starts. He has been consistently getting better with each start in Ft. Myers.
  23. Tyler has continued to improve as he gains more experience at high A Ft. Myers. In his most recent outing he was able to work 7, 1 hit innings. In the processes, he walked 4 and struck out 7. In his previous 3 outings he has worked 20 innings, allowed 10 hits and 6 walks and just 2 runs. He did only accumulate 12 strikeouts through those 20 innings. It has been a pretty successful first full season thus far for Duffey. If he continues to pitch as he has over his previous 3 games, he could potentially stick as a starter for the Twins. It is encouraging that he has gone 7 innings or more in half of his 16 starts and 6 or more in 11/16 starts.
