  1. And at $4 million, if someone forces him out later (say Wade) through their performance, you can either deal him for a ptbnl, or just outright release him and eat the rest. That's not the kind of money that *should* restrict any roster decisions in a year with so much available payroll available.
  2. John loves to see a fat guy score.
  3. RUMMMMMBLIN'!!!!
  4. How's Ryan Longwell's leg doing these days?
  5. Limit him strictly to road games (+54 points ops vs home), in the second half of the season (+48 vs first), and only against lefties (+75).
  6. You left out the part of Brian Duensing being the required sweetener of the deal.
  7. Yes. http://m.mlb.com/glossary/transactions/10-and-5-rights
  8. While I'm at it (last time I swear), a couple more sets of figures showing how difficult it is to be on an extreme end of either the walk or strikeout rates and still be even an average hitter, let alone combine both in the same package. Strikeout rate of 30% or higher, 200+ plate appearances, just 11 players above average offensively. Walk rate 5% or lower, 200+ PA's, 10 players.
  9. The list of players with Cave's current offensive profile is not an impressive one. Cave currently has a 5% walk rate, and a 33.7% strikeout rate. There are only 7 players in the league with a BB rate below 6 and a K rate above 30% with more than 200 plate appearances. Their wRC+ figures (it's like OPS+, 100 being average)... 103 - Cave 96 83 73 72 65 - Field (yes, that Field, current Twin) 59 Three of those are catchers. Maybe this link will work.
  10. Probably easier to tally up the tackles made than the tackles missed.
  11. 74 pitches and 50 strikes thru 6 for Jake. Not too shabby.
  12. Greatest 1,400th post in TD history.
  13. You make a very good point. But they're still the Yankees.
  14. So do the Twins. *ba-dum, ching!*
  15. Ya know, this Rodgers kid might be a keeper.
  16. Which is why I don't eat prior to or during Yankee games. That, and the increased alcohol requirements dictate additional space.
  17. Quoted for awesomeness.
  18. Challenge accepted. Minnesota Twins, 2011-18™®©
  19. Did that just happen?
