  1. The payroll situation is a self imposed limit put in place by a multi billionaire who has zero interest in fielding a serious team. Locking up Ober makes sense so therefore it will not happen.
  2. The article doesn’t identify the most pressing needs of the team. Is it a first baseman, outfielder,…what. Trading from the strength of the team just to trade is terrible management… but I guess it’s the front office that landed Tyler Mahle.
  3. Truly inspiring, so another season of data driven, fundamentally flawed baseball.... The owner is tone deaf. The players listed voicing support weren't the issue... Leaders sometime need to make uncomfortable decisions based on what's best for the organization, Big Joe took the easiest path.
  4. They were in a favorable position in mid-August, but as many of us were saying, Rocco's decisions took many wins and put them in the loss column... There is no need to revisit them, I will raise a toast when he is relived of his duties. This collapse is not surprising to me and there is no plausible reason for Rocco to be in the office on Monday.... Take the GM with him as well.
  5. Agree with everything said other than Lewis. Too much talent there not to give him another year.... However he needs to stay healthy and identify where he plays in the field.
  6. With the season over, the next thing too look forward to is what shake ups and roster moves are made this winter, maybe even sooner. This team has some talent and young promising arms in Festa, Matthews and SWR. However there needs to be changes , you absolutely cannot run this coaching philosophy back next year, and need a GM that can identify cheap talent in the field.... you cannot continue to rely on the home run while playing poor defense and sloppy fundamental situational offense. Look no farther than the next team to the east.
  7. My exact thoughts…. How fitting that the dagger comes from the mighty Marlins
  8. What I find most striking is you go and sign Correa… than slash payroll. It makes zero sense to have one player account for nearly 25% of your budget What is their blueprint for success? They have no clue how to build a winning organization and a manager that has less of an idea how to create a winning culture. I blame the owners and FO at this point more than the data driven manager.
  9. Exactly... Not even a tough decision, unfortunately Rocco cannot figure out the simplest concepts and now time has pretty much run out.
  10. You down vote anyone that has anything negative to say about Rocco… please share what you see in his managerial decisions that deserve respect? It’s been two plus years of uninspiring performance, many questionable decisions… what are many of us missing?
  11. The rookie starters, IMO, been the lone bright stop over the last 6-weeks. They have done everything you could expect... as far as 4-5 innings, you may need to check-in with the MIA manager, he likes pulling starters at low pitch counts because his little tablet dictates him to do so.
  12. Yet his believers will defend his decisions until the bitter end. He is an awful manager, yet will most likely be back next year.
  13. They do not deserve a playoff spot. Pulling for Detroit, KC and Seattle losses for the past two weeks is really not that fun as this team play shows they really don't give a sh** .... . Cannot end soon enough, then the question becomes will the owners make sweeping changes to the front office and coaching staff or are they content with the product they expect us to support.
  14. Agree with everything you are saying other than Santana. I cannot dump on the guy. He has bailed us out in several games this season with a a few clutch hits. As far as Miranda, he could not provide the defense that Santana has, poor defense has been a problem for the team this year.
  15. The only question I have is can they get over .500…. Time to move on from the GM and his puppet manager… I say puppet because most believe Rocco is just an extension of the ….. whatever they are doing it doesn’t work.
  16. Hard to believe, until you see it with your own eyes… and ears
  17. They did what they should/needed to do against those two teams … it’s just the other 28 teams they really have no answer for. It’s really fascinating how many different ways they can find to lose a game…. Ultimately it’s like they don’t care for their teammates
  18. Agreed, you cannot blame the starters for the collapse of the last three to four weeks.
  19. Setting us up for another gut wrenching late game loss.
  20. They literally have no consistent home run threats… yet this is the team philosophy.. They should have been. 20-23 games over .500, but the refusal to attempt to utilize some small ball, I would argue sound fundamentals in plate approaches, has sank the season. So many flawed game plans utilized by the manager makes this team not watchable unless they are hitting the home run.
  21. If Farmer is your best option at second are you really a playoff team?
  22. Matt Wallner at this point should not be considered “inexperienced “. Things are getting interesting with Detroit’s win tonight. I just don’t see how they hold on to the final WC spot, they have a tough schedule to close out the season. The positive is if they do manage to hang on they would have earned it by to playing well against quality teams.
  23. Absolutely not buying it…if that’s the case Rocco needs to grow a pair. No way does the FO dictate managerial decisions, in any pro sport. If you want to blame the personnel on the FO , great, not the decisions being made on the field.
  24. I’ve never heard of a front office making on field or in game decisions. Do you believe that has been the case with the best managers? I do understand that they set innings for pitchers, rookies or players coming off of an injury. But they do not request that the manager pull a starter in a game where he is at 83 pitches and hasn’t given up a run, or pinch hitting in the 4th inning or using your closer in non save situations, even though he sucks outside of that role. The strategy deployed are head scratching moves made byRocco, not the front office.
  25. Curious, you disagree vehemently that he is not a bad manager…. what makes him a good manager…. and they really aren’t that young, that excuse doesn’t cut it for me.
