  1. Did Cousins not know he had a timeout?
  2. What the heck was Cousins doing??!!
  3. Wtf was that playcall
  4. Prescott officially OUT for tonight’s game.
  5. Wednesday October 27 World Series Game 2 Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros Time: 7:09 PM Central Standard Time SP: Max Fried (Braves) vs. Jose Urquidy (Astros) Venue: Minute Maid Park, Houston Broadcast: FOX Odds: Astros -115, Braves +105
  6. Vikes might have a chance this weekend, given the coach they’re facing and they’re at home.
  7. Eddie Rosario to the World Series!
  8. I think we’re seeing rn just how hard it is to sustain consistent dominance for years like Brady and Belichick did. We all thought KC would. They now look like a Divisional Round loss at best with that defense.
  9. If he’s available at $5M/year, don’t even bother, given what happened with Colóme. He had 0.6 WAR over 25 IP last year (proportionally, 1.4 WAR over 60 IP). $8M • 1.4 = $11M. That’s the probable price tag for him. We don’t know this…none of us can predict the future
  10. I blame a lot of this season on the players, as they are the ones who are getting paid Millions and they aren’t performing, but this team wasn’t exactly set for success with the starting rotation the FO put together.
  11. It’s the pitchers. Most of them simply weren’t good pitchers (for the Twins).
  12. The Twins haven’t had SP Performances where they can really go more than 4-5 innings this year
  13. Tonight’s game: NLCS Game 5 (Braves Lead 3-1) Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Time: 7:08 PM Central Standard Time SP: Max Fried (Braves) vs. TBA (Dodgers) Venue: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Broadcast: TBS Odds: Dodgers -145, Braves +125
  14. Eddie Rosario had a heckuva night in NLCS Game 4. 4 for 5 with 2 HR, a 3B, and 4 RBI!

  15. Dobnak, IMO, shouldn’t be in the opening day rotation, let alone the #3 starter. There’s no way the Dodgers are going to let go of a franchise icon like Kershaw. I haven’t even heard of Yusei Kikuchi prior to reading this. I looked at his stats: yuck. No thanks. I agree that Ober and Joe Ryan should be in the opening day rotation. I think they should have Ober as their #5 and Ryan as their #3, and fill in the holes from there. I’d sign a Robbie Ray/Kevin Gausman type and make a trade to fill in the top two spots. Maybe sign a solid veteran on a cheap deal to fill the #4 spot. Relying on Stashak and Thorpe to fill spots in the pen, IMO, wouldn’t be a wise choice. Both struggled in 2021 when they were on the major league roster.
  16. The tough thing is that you don’t know how many games he’s going to play. He’s only had one (1) season where he’s played 100+ games. You know how good he is going to be when healthy: One of the best players in baseball. In 2021, he put up 4.2 WAR in 61 games. Over a 162 game season, that’s a ridiculous 11.1 WAR. (That tells me that his 2021 success wouldn’t be sustainable over a full season) That being said, he’s going to be a Mike Trout-type player when healthy. If you extend him, you should make the base 60 games/year, which would be about $25M/year. So, I would do 4 years/$100M with incentives galore.
  17. Today’s games: ALCS Game 5 (Series Tied 2-2) Houston Astros vs. Boston Red Sox Time: 4:08 PM CDT SP: Framber Valdez (Astros) vs. Chris Sale (Red Sox) Venue: Fenway Park (Boston) Broadcast: FS1 Odds: Red Sox -125, Astros +105 NLCS Game 4 (Braves Lead 2-1) Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Time: 7:08 PM CDT SP: TBA (Braves) vs. Julio Urias (Dodgers) Venue: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Broadcast: TBS Odds: Dodgers -210, Braves +175
  18. No question you should resign one of your few talented RPs.
  19. Thanks for the source. I see what you mean about Kirilloff. As for keeping Rosario, I still disagree with you. $10M, mathematically, is an overpay for 0.9 WAR. And if you look at him as a player, he really boils down to a corner outfielder with an above average bat but a bad glove, and a nearly impossible Baserunning WAR of -2.0 in 2020. He costed the team runs on a regular basis. Any idea of getting something in a trade for him was a ****ing joke. They weren’t going to sell at the 2020 Deadline because they were going all in that year. They couldn’t trade him in the Offseason because he had zero trade value. I agreed with letting Rosario walk, but I don’t think they had a sound plan to replace him.
  20. Kirilloff had been ‘perpetually injured since high school?’ I’d like to see a source. It seems like you’re arguing for a ‘bad allocation of resources’ simply because the actual allocation was worse. It doesn’t mean it would’ve been the right move. It means it would’ve been a better move than what actually happened.
  21. They weren’t planning on Cave, Refsnyder, Garlick, etc to take up most of the starts. They were expecting Kirilloff to get the spot. He then got injured. At the time they non-tendered, Kirilloff’s baseline appeared to be essentially a Rosario-type player. Therefore, paying Rosario $10M would’ve been a bad allocation of resources.
  22. You’re entitled to your own opinion. That being said, I disagree. It seems lazy to simply say, “If he were going to, he would’ve.” I don’t think it’s fair at all to say that there’s a 0% chance Buxton signs an extension here. Has he indicated he wants out? I haven’t heard anything. Why the FO waited so long to extend him isn’t hard to figure out. He has had one (1) season where he’s played 100+ games. Staying on the field has been a continuous problem for him. It’s so inconsistent that it would IMO be a bad decision to hastily hand him a 5 year/$125M deal. It’s incredibly risky. I wouldn’t advise it. Also, 0% chance of filling the holes in the pitching staff? Why? Why can’t they sign the bullpen arms and starters they need? Their pitching pipeline will also starting producing more next year (hopefully). This sounds more like an, “I don’t trust the FO to fill the holes,” rather than an, “I don’t think it’s physically possible for them to fill the holes.”
