  1. So I'm assuming this is the new rotational order. Liriano Devries Deduno Diamond Walters Duensing will move back where he belongs. Robertson would probably be replaced on the roster by Walters.
  2. Buxton had such a good day Sunday that it was almost his first professional appearance as TD's Hitter of the Day in addition to the other firsts! Unfortunately, he couldn't top 2 HRs.
  3. I think Alex Burnett has a strong case for the Relief Pitcher award. His last two appearances were bad, but his numbers are still very good. I'd also debate the Rick Aguilera title for Joe Nathan. Especially since he almost helped us enough last night.
  4. I'll give you one. He's 24 and can barely hold his own in High A.
  5. The extension is extremely risky and it could see everyone complaining about it if it doesn't work. I say arbitration is a great choice. If you go with the 12.5 it's either a one year deal or a draft pick. Win-win. I'd be hesitant of a trade because there's a good chance we end up with nothing. Who would trade anything valuable for half a year of Liriano?
  6. The school comparison is simple enough, but why allow someone to jump the grade they're in when they have a C?
  7. But he's 5-0! Casilla has been somewhat productive the past two seasons. I dislike him, but he should get played a little more often to keep Dozier out of the lineup (He gets played too often).
  8. Good thing they are completely different pitchers.
  9. I believe he's disagreeing with the reasoning that Dozier should get time to figure it out in the MLB because it's a lost season. Fans say his awful play has no impact on the team anyway because they are playing for nothing. That shouldn't be the main motive to keep a player up to see what you have before he's ideally ready. You do what's best for the player.
  10. I don't care about Mauer's contract anymore. Nick Blackburn has the worst contract as of now.
  11. Teheran is literally untouchable. He has ridiculous potential that the Braves have zero intention of trading away. It would also be a moonshot to pry away Minor and Vizcaino. All of these guys are extremely unrealistic for Liriano which is what you hinted at being the most likely deal. And it is, since the Braves shouldn't have any interest in Morneau or Span.Otherwise I'm fine with the article, John. I just think "Potential Trade Targets" should be guys who could actually be traded.
  12. Pavano will do anything to stay with Drew Butera in MN.
  13. It's just a week. If I do end up being wrong I'll take the heat, but I still think it would be to his benefit to get some AAA time.
  14. Great name and I'm sure he'll become my favorite prospect in no time.
  15. Not at all too surprising Goodrum got a cycle. It's certainly difficult, but he hits the hardest one to get of the four (3B) extremely often. Harrison is proving himself as a top 10 Twins prospect. Love his power potential and hopefully Walker will catch fire as well.
  16. If Mauer continues what he does best and can break 10HRs I will be completely satisfied.
  17. Here's a link to the announcement video. Josh has the biggest grin imaginable at :48 before Gardy calls Mauer and Mauer's name only. He worked his tail off and I wish the guy would have gotten his first appearance. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=22758781&c_id=min&partnerId=aw-7652144290573016577-1803
  18. That is extremely true of the Orioles. Bundy and Machado are that whole system. I am very excited that Thome is back in the AL to DH! He should be able to bash another one out to become outright #7 on the all-time list. He has an .854 OPS and count me as one of the few that think he could stick around and go for #6. Although, whether he'd decide to do that is iffy.
  19. I thought it was widely accepted that Baker was gone (unofficially). There is no way they will pay a pitcher coming off TJ 9 million. MLB ready middle infielders and minor league pitchers should be the primary acquisitions at the deadline.
  20. Riverbrian has a 1.72 KSFT (Kittens Saved from Trees). That's slightly above average (1.70) so I say he gets the call. That's also a new advanced sabermetric, so it took me a while to calculate.
  21. I'm slow. What can I say? For a second they fooled me into thinking they had the same number too, but Kubes was #16. Hawk doesn't call us the "bad guys" for nothing...
  22. I really want Span to be traded because I think Revere is our leadoff guy and CF. However, if a trade were completed, I keep getting the feeling that whatever the Twins get in return will have me disappointed.
  23. For starters he can stop sucking. Napoli doesn't deserve it. Mauer has a much better OPS and is widely known to be solid defensively. Fan votes are pretty stupid. As if we needed any more proof/Plouffe (see ESPN Battle of the BallParks Champion Miller Park).
